United through in FA Cup Fifth Round

MANCHESTER UNITED are our fourth and final team through to the Quarter-Finals of the FA Cup out of the eight that are still in the competition.
Last night Manchester United won 3-1 away to PRESTON but it was not an easy win for them.
United started the game very sloppy with bad passing and no idea up front on how to score goals.
In the start of the second half, Preston scored a well-deserved goal by Laird in the 47th minute gave the home team that touch of hope that they could beat United. It was not until they took off Falcao and brought on Young that the game picked up pace for United. Two goals to United followed in the 65th and 77th minute before Rooney scored from the penalty in the 88th minute that United were sure of a place in the next round. United are now on a total of 51 goals and they seem to be on par with their final goals total from last season of 75 goals. Their lowest score with Golden Goals in our 32 Seasons was just 61 goals back in our 1986/87 Season. Preston picked up their 58th goal of the season.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In Scotland only three of our five teams were in action over the weekend and two of them were in the WILLIAM HILL CUP fourth Round. CELTIC won 2-0 away to Dundee and through to the next round. That now gives them a total of 60 goals.  RANGERS lost their cup game 2-1 against Raith. That was Rangers 54th goal.
In the League, HEARTS won 3-2 away to Livingston and they are our still our biggest scorers this weekend here with 63 goals.

THE BEST THREE TEAMS ARE…

MK DONS (73) DERBY (70) CHELSEA (68) Total of 211 goals.

THE WORST THREE TEAMS ARE…

QPR (24) WIGAN (28) ROTHERHAM (30) Total of 82 goals.

QPR are still our worst team this weekend as they picked up another blank score sheet at the weekend. Rangers have played a total of 26 games and they have picked up a total of eleven blank score sheets.

ROTHERHAM have picked up the most number of  blank score sheets in our 32nd season.  After a total of 32 games played, Rotherham have picked up 30 goals and  had a total of 13 blank score sheets to date.

We have had three teams that have now picked up the highest score this season. First MANCHESTER CITY won their Capital One Cup third round tie against Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 at home.  MK DONS won 7-0 at home to Oldham in the league and WATFORD have won 7-2 at home to Blackpool also in the league.

Manchester City had a record breaking end of season score of 137 goals from last season and they will not be beating it this season. In Week twenty-seven last season, City failed to score in midweek and they failed to score again at the weekend. Their goals tally has remained at 97 goals after thirty-three games played. They have now had four blank score sheet’s and their highest score was seven goals against Norwich in the league.
This season they had no midweek game once again and they only picked up one goal against Hull at the weekend. So City are still on a total of 56 goals this weekend. But they have had a total of four blank score sheet after twenty-eight games played. They are now 41 goals behind last seasons record run. They are away to Stoke in midweek and they have no game at the weekend.

Here is how our top ten looks this weekend and as you can see we had two winners this weekend.
