Five Days Left To Join In

We have just five days left for you to get your teams in for our 2015/16 Season before we close the book this coming Friday. Here is our third update on what’s been going on here at the Golden Goals HQ over the past week.

To date we now have had a total of 85 entry forms back but we still need plenty more so we can break that record of 111 from our 1999/00 Season. There seems to be a lot of you from last season who have still not entered your teams yet?

Celtic are still in the lead with the most number of votes with 50 out of the 85 with Manchester City still following up behind them with 36. Arsenal are now up into third place with 24 votes while Chelsea move down to fourth place with 23. Derby are still in fifth place with 16 votes. Manchester United are sixth with just 12 votes. We have now had a total of 44 teams playing in our next season.

We still have four teams that have made all 33 seasons and they are Celtic, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

The good news is that Burton Albion will be making their first ever appearance with the competition as they get their first vote in our 33rd season.

We have had eight new players to the competition and hope that we will see more in the last enrolment week. We still have just eleven of our past Champions back this season.

12 Days To Go!

Here is the second of our up date’s on what’s been going on here at the Golden Goals HQ as the new entry form for the coming season have now been out for two weeks with just 12 days to go before we close the book..

To date we have had 72 entry forms back and we still want plenty more so we can break that record of 111 in our 1999/00 Season.

So has the voting changed around since the first up date? No not really. Celtic still in the lead with the most number of votes with 45 out of the 72 in with Manchester City still following up behind with 33. Chelsea are still third with 22 while Arsenal are still fourth with 20 votes. Derby are still in fifth place with 14 votes.
So if you are thinking about these as part of your combination, then please think again as Arsenal, Derby, Manchester City and Chelsea, Celtic and Manchester city are the most wanted combination and with even with these teams swapped round, they have now all gone.

The good news is that we are going to see some more teams that we have had not seen for a while. They are Clyde and Exeter.

Up Date Number One

I thought that would give you an update on what’s been going on here at the Golden Goals HQ as the new entry form for the coming season have now been out for a week.

I would like to think that we are just over or half way to our target of beating that 111 record entries.
To date we have had just 59 entry forms back and we have had no forms back in the last 48 hours.
But we still have three weeks before the book closes and am sure that we will see that number rise.

So how are we voting this season? Well it seems that Celtic have taken up the most number of votes with 40 out of the 59 in with Manchester City following up behind with 28. Chelsea are third with 18 while Arsenal are fourth with 17 votes. Derby are fifth with 12 votes. So if you are thinking about these as part of your combination, then please think again as Arsenal, Derby, Manchester City and Chelsea, Celtic and Manchester city are the most wanted combination and with even with these teams swapped round, they have now all gone.

I would like to welcome five new players to the competition and hope that we will see more in the coming weeks.

But what about the rest of the world? we have had no interest as of yet but hope that you might want to see how it's played. For the entry form and rules you can email me at goldengoals1983@gmail.com

Season 33 Now Up And Running

Yesterday was the launch of our next season of Golden Goals number 33. It was one of the craziest opening days yet in the competition.
We had a total of 45 entry forms back by end of play last night and one of the most popular combinations was Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City or Arsenal, Celtic, Derby.

The voting is going all one way with Scottish Champions Celtic picking up 29 of the 45 combinations followed by Rangers with just 4 votes. With the English teams it was Manchester City well in the lead with 21 followed by Arsenal and Chelsea both with 12 votes each.
We have had a few teams that have missed several seasons with us including Hull, Ipswich and Scottish Hibernian.

It was also nice to see five new players to the comp and we would like to say a big welcome to them.
But we would like to see more of you out there in the big wide world.

Entry Forms Are Now Available

The new entry forms for our 33rd Season of Golden Goals are out today and you can get a copy by email me, Steve at goldengoals1983@gmail.com

The entry fee for the whole season cost just £8 UK pounds. You now have four weeks to get your entry forms and send them back to me by the 31st July when the entry for the competition will be closed.

If you have been following Golden Goals over the last season and we know there are a few of you out there in the world, then now is the time to start thinking of three English or Scottish teams or you can have a combination or a mix of both. You will keep these unique teams as no one else will have these in the competition.

Your teams need to score a total of 300 goals by the end of the season to have a chance of being our next champion and perhaps to pick up £100 in cash.

We would like more people to join in this unique football competition that has been running for a total of 33 consecutive years. We are already have players from the UK and Europe that have been playing Golden Goals for years. So why not take a look at this incredible football competition?
