Boxing Day Results

We had forty of our Golden Goals teams in action on Boxing Day and out of them twelve failed to score any goals. The highest score that we had was four goals and we had three of our teams that picked up that score.

In the English Premiership it was WEST HAM UNITED that picked up the highest score with them four goals as they beat Swansea 4-1 away. It’s West Ham’s highest score of the season and the goals take their goals total to 27 and moves them up to 13th place in the league. CHELSEA are still top as they win 3-0 at home to BOURNEMOUTH. Chelsea are now on 46 goals while Bournemouth picked up their fifth blank of the season. MANCHESTER CITY are second as they win 3-0 away to Hull and moves their goals tally up to 41. ARSENAL are down to fourth place as they win just 1-0 at home to West Brom, That was Arsenal’s 45th goal. MANCHESTER UNITED are in sixth place as they win 3-1 at home to Sunderland and takes their goals total to 35. It’s 27 for EVERTON as they win 2-0 away to LEICESTER CITY. City picked up their fifth blank of the season.

In the Championship NEWCASTLE are still top after they lost 1-0 at home to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY. That was Newcastle’s fourth blank score sheet while Wednesday picked up goal number 28. LEEDS UNITED are still in fourth place as they picked up their biggest win of the season by winning 4-1 away to PRESTON. Leeds are now on 36 goals while Preston hit goal number 37. ASTON VILLA won 2-1 at home to Burton  to bringing their goals tally up to 26 while BRENTFORD are now on 29 goals as they drew 2-2 at home against CARDIFF who are now on 26 goals. NORWICH picked up goal number 48 but they lost 3-1 away to Reading.
WOLVES won 3-2 at home to Bristol City and they are now on a total of 35 goals.

In League One SCUNTHORPE are still top after they drew 0-0 away to BRADFORD to pick up their third blank of the season while Bradford picked up their eighth. Bradford have scored just two goals in their last six games. SHEFFIELD UNITED are in second place as they win 2-0 at home to OLDHAM. United are now on 51 goals while Oldham picked up their fifteenth blank and now two in a row. BRISTOL ROVERS picked up another four goals as they win 4-1 at home to Coventry. Rovers are now on 46 goals. MILLWALL won 2-0 at home against Swindon and that takes them up to 48 goals. CHARLTON are now on 32 goals as they win 1-0 away to MK DONS. The Dons picked up their eighth blank of the season and now two games in a row. PETERBOROUGH picked up their 46th goal of the season as they drew 1-1 at home to GILLINGHAM who are now on 41 goals. WALSALL won 1-0 away to PORT VALE and that was goal number 26 for them while Vale picked up blank number eight and now two games in a row. SOUTHEND won 3-0 at home to AFC Wimbledon and they are now on 35 goals.

In League Two DONCASTER are back on top as they win 1-0 away to Notts County and that was their 46th goal. PLYMOUTH are now second as they drew 3-3 at home to Wycombe. Plymouth are now on 38 goals. PORTSMOUTH are in fourth place as they win 3-2 away to Newport and they are now on 39 goals while LUTON picked up their fifth blank score sheet as they lost 1-0 at home to COLCHESTER who are now on 31 goals. It’s 27 goals for LEYTON ORIENT as they won 3-2 at home to Crawley. ACCRINGTON picked up blank number ten as they lost 2-0 away to Grimsby. Accrington have now failed to score in their last three games.  YEOVIL are on their eighth blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 at home to Exeter.

In Scotland in their League One STENHOUSEMUIR won 2-0 away to PETERHEAD. Stenhousemuir are now on a total of 31 goals while Peterhead picked up their eighth blank score sheet and now two in a row..
