A Point for West Ham

In the Premier League’s London derby, CRYSTAL PALACE drew 0-0 at home to WEST HAM UNITED. Palace picked up their 10th blank of the season while West Ham picked up their 11th blank.

Here are our top 10 teams this week. Manchester City are still top, with Rangers moving down to 5th place. Chelsea are down to 6th place. Arsenal are still in 7th place, while Celtic move back into the top ten at eight.

Week Thirty-Seven

In Week Thirty-Seven of the competition, the highest score that we had went to three players this weekend. They are NORA HAMMOND, MALCOLM STUBBS and ANN WELLARD. All three scored a total of 12 goals from their teams.

Nora had Aston Villa 4, Celtic 6 and Liverpool 2. Malcolm had Celtic 6, Liverpool 2 and Norwich City 4. Ann had Aston Villa 4, Celtic 6 and Sheffield United 2.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Not many of us managed to pick up some goals this week, which means that our top six has mainly stayed the same as last week’s table once again. It was our two-time Champion PHIL REEVE who picked up the most amount of goals, with 5 goals, all coming from Bolton. His other two teams are, Celtic and Liverpool.

Still out in front this week, we have KEITH RATTLE, with a total of 93 goals, and he still needs just 7 goals to win the cash prize money of £25. Keith’s teams are Chelsea, Rangers and Wrexham. In second place, we still have BARBARA BARNES (1) with a total of 85 goals. In third place, up from four, we now have PHIL COLLINS now with a total of 82 goals. In fourth place, down from three, we have SCOTT THOMSON (1) on a total of 81 goals. In fifth place, we still have MICHAEL FISHER, now on a total of 80 goals. In sixth place, we still have JOHN FILTNESS, our 2023/24 joint Champion and TONY GUY (3) both are on a total of 78 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had 6 of our teams not in action this weekend, plus we had another 10 of our teams that failed to score any goals. If it was not for Celtic at the weekend, we would once again a have very low average score. The average score this weekend was a whopping 8 goals. Well done if your teams scored more than that. The highest score over the weekend was 6 goals, and we had just one of our teams that reached that score. They came from CELTIC.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Top of the table ARSENAL lost 2-1 away to MANCHESTER CITY who are still in second place. Arsenal are on a total of 83 goals, while City are on a total of 98 goals and have extended their goal run to 15 league/cup games. It’s 60 goals for MANCHESTER UNITED in third place, after they won 1-0 away to CHELSEA. United have now scored in all of their last 22 league/cup games. Chelsea picked up their 7th blank of the season and two games without a goal. ASTON VILLA in fourth place, won 4-3 at home against SUNDERLAND and have taken their goals tally to 51 goals. Villa have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. Sunderland are now on a total of 39 goals. In fifth place, we still have LIVERPOOL who won 2-1 away to Everton. Liverpool are on a total of 66 goals. NEWCASTLE UNITED lost 2-1 at home to AFC BOURNEMOUTH and are on a total of 62 goals and have extended their goal run to 13 league/cup games. Bournemouth are on a total of 53 goals. After they had failed to score in their last two games, TOTTENHAM, in the relegation zone, drew 2-2 at home to BRIGHTON. Tottenham are on a total of 46 goals. Brighton are on 59 goals. Bottom of the table and relegated WOLVES lost 3-0 away to Leeds Utd. Wolves have now had a total of 17 blank scoresheets and now two games without a goal. NOTTINGHAM FOREST picked up their biggest result of the season as they won 4-1 at home to Burnley. Forest have taken their goals tally to 41 goals.

CHAMPIONSHIP

IPSWICH TOWN are our highest team here in second place. They drew 2-2 at home to MIDDLESBROUGH and are on a total of 76 goals. Middlesbrough in fifth place, are on a total of 65 goals.

In the Play-offs we have just two of the four teams, with SOUTHAMPTON up to fourth place after they won 2-1 away to Swansea and are on a total of 88 goals and have extended their goal run to 21 league/cup games. Middlesbrough are in fifth place.

Meanwhile, BRISTOL CITY lost 4-2 at home to NORWICH CITY and are on a total of 61 goals. Norwich have taken their goals tally to 69. BIRMINGHAM CITY drew 1-1 away to Hull and are on a total of 58 goals. PRESTON NE lost 2-0 at home to West Brom and picked up their 13th blank of the season. WATFORD lost 2-0 at home to SHEFFIELD UNITED and picked up their 12th blank scoresheet and now two games without a goal. of the season. United are on a total of 65 goals. It’s 80 goals for WREXHAM after they won 2-0 at home against Stoke. LEICESTER CITY are still second from bottom after they lost 1-0 away to Portsmouth and picked up their 9th blank scoresheet and now two games with out a goal.

LEAGUE ONE

CARDIFF CITY in second place, won 3-1 away to Reading and are now on a total of 90 goals.

In the Play-offs, we have just two of the four teams. They are BOLTON now in third place after they drew 3-3 at home against HUDDERSFIELD. Bolton are now on a total of 72 goals while Huddersfield are now on a total of 73 goals and have now scored in all fo their last 7 league games. STOCKPORT COUNTY in fifth place drew 3-3 away to Exeter and are now on a total of 70 goals and have extended their goal run to 9 league games.

Meanwhile, PLYMOUTH won 3-1 away to AFC Wimbledon and are now on a total of 73 goals and have now scored in all of their last 9 league games. LEYTON ORIENT picked up their 14th blank scoresheet and now two games in a row after they lost 2-0 at home to Rotherham. LUTON TOWN drew 2-2 away to Mansfield and are on a total of 67 goals and have extended their goal run to 11 league/cup games. WYCOMBE WANDERERS lost 1-0 at home to BLACKPOOL and picked up their 12th blank of the season. Blackpool are on 58 goals. PETERBOROUGH UNITED drew 1-1 at home against Burton. Borough are on a total of 64 goals and have now scored in all of their last 11 league/cup games.

LEAGUE TWO

Top of the table Bromley have been promoted and are now just 2 points clear of second place MK DONS, after they won 3-1 away to CREWE. The Dons are now on a total of 89 goals while Crewe are on 66 goals.

In the Play-offs, we have three of the four team still. They are NOTTS COUNTY now in fifth place, after they lost 2-1 at home to BARNET. County are on a total of 74 goals while Barnet are on a total of 65 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league games. Down to sixth place we have SWINDON TOWN, who drew 2-2 at home against Accrington and are on a total of 78 goals. CHESTERFIELD in seventh place drew 1-1 away to Fleetwood and are on a total of 69 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league games.

Meanwhile WALSALL won 3-1 away to Barrow and are now on a total of 61 goals. GILLINGHAM lost 4-1 at home to Grimsby and picked up their 53rd goal of the season.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

SCOTTISH CUP Semi-Finals we had just one of our teams left in the competition and they were CELTIC. They had drawn the game 2-2 after  the full 90 minutes, but then won 6-2 in extra time. With their biggest result of the season, Celtic have taken their goals tally up to 81 goals. Celtic will play Dunfermline in the final on 23 May.

In the Championship, bottom of the table ROSS COUNTY, won their 7th league game 2-1 at home to AYR UNITED. County after they had failed to score in their last two league games, are on a total of 43 goals. Ayr picked up goal number 54.

In League One, STENHOUSEMUIR drop down to second place after they lost 2-0 away to COVE RANGERS. Stenhousemuir after they had scored in all of their last 10  league games, picked up their 11th blank of the season. Rangers are on a total of 47 goals. EAST FIFE lost 2-0 away to Alloa and picked up their 14th blank of the season.

In League Two, CLYDE are still in third place after they won 2-0 at home to DUMBARTON. Clyde are on a total of 63 goals. Dumbarton after a goal run of 8 league games, picked up their 9th blank of the season.

Our BEST three teams are

Our worst performing team is now WOLVES this weekend, as they have picked up 17 blank score sheets out of their 39 league/cup games.

Our highest scoring team in our 43rd season is MANCHESTER CITY. They won 10-1 at home against Exeter City in the FA CUP 3rd Round, in Week Twenty-Three.

VINCENT CRUICKSHANK is back at the top and celebrates his second week at the top this season. Vincent was last there in Week Seventeen. He picked up a total of 14 goals from the week. Vincent’s teams are Celtic, MK Dons and Southampton. Vincent is five goals clear of Graham Phillips, who moves back into second place, as he picks up a total of 10 goals this weekend. Graham’s teams are Arsenal, Celtic and MK Dons.

At the other end at 111, we still have CHARLIE FARLEY(John Wood) there for his 16th consecutive week and now seventeen over the season. John picked up 2 goals this weekend. His teams are Cove Rangers, East Fife and Stenhousemuir, .John remains in 43rd place this week in our “Losers League”. 

As you can see that we have had a change in our top ten this weekend, thanks to Celtic.

Bolton Hit Five Past Stevenage

In the Championship, after a goal run of 10 league/cup games, IPSWICH TOWN in second place, lost 2-0 away to Portsmouth and picked up their 6th blank scoresheet of the season. SOUTHAMPTON have moved up to fourth place after they won 3-0 at home to BLACKBURN ROVERS. Southampton are now on a total of 86 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 20 league/cup games. Rovers picked up their 16th blank of the season. 

In League One CARDIFF CITY in second place, drew 1-1 away to HUDDERSFIELD TOWN and are on a total of 87 goals. Huddersfield are on a total of 70 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. BOLTON WANDERERS have moved up to third place after they won 5-1 at home to Stevenage. Week Thirty-Six

In Week Thirty-Six of the competition, we had our sixth and final Rollover of the season, and it was worth £10. That all went to STALKY (2) (Bob Burgin) for his third win of the season. He won on a score of 9 goals. Bob last won some cash back in Week Thirty-Three and becomes our highest cash winner this season. Are West Ham Safe Now?

In the Premier League, we had a big relegation battle going on as WEST HAM won 4-0 at home against bottom of the table WOLVES. With their biggest win of the season, West Ham have taken their goals tally to 49. Wolves picked up their 16th blank of the season. 

In League Two, after a goal run of 21 league/cup games, SWINDON TOWN lost 3-0 away to Colchester United and picked up their 6th blank of the season 

In the Scottish Championship, bottom of the table ROSS COUNTY lost 1-0 away to Queen’s Park and picked up their 16th blank of the season and now two games without a goal.

Southampton on the up

In the Championship, SOUTHAMPTON are back in the play-offs as they win 5-1 away to WREXHAM who fall out of the play-offs. Southampton are on a high after their FA Cup win over the weekend and they have taken their goals tally to 81. They have now scored in all of their last 18 league/cup games. Wrexham picked up their 78th goal of the season. They have now scored in all of their last 12 league/cup games. 

In League Two, it’s 70 goals for top of the table BROMLEY after they won 2-1 at home against Shrewsbury. Bromley have now scored in all of their last 7 league games.

Easter Monday Results

In the Championship, second place IPSWICH TOWN won 2-1 at home to BIRMINGHAM CITY and are on a total of 72 goals, and they have now scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games. Birmingham after they had failed to score in their previous two games, are on a total of 55 goals.

In the Play-offs, we have MIDDLESBROUGH in third place after they drew 2-2 away to Swansea and are on a total of 63 goals. Wrexham are in sixth place.

Meanwhile, BLACKBURN ROVERS drew 0-0 at home to West Brom and picked up their 15th blank of the season. BRISTOL CITY won 1-0 at home against SHEFFIELD UNITED and hit goal number 59. United after a goal run of 13 league/cup games, picked up their 11th blank of the season. NORWICH CITY won 2-1 away to Millwall and are on a total of 65 goals. PRESTON NE drew 1-1 at home to QPR and are on a total of 51 goals. LEICESTER CITY drew 1-1 away to bottom of the table Sheffield Wednesday. City are on a total of 59 goals. WATFORD drew 1-1 at home to Charlton and are on a total of 54 goals. 

In League One, CARDIFF CITY who are in second place, had failed to score in their last two games, drew 1-1 away to PETERBOROUGH UNITED and are on a total of 84 goals. Peterborough are on 61 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games.

In the Play-offs, we have in fourth place, BOLTON WANDERERS drew 2-2 at home to fifth-place STOCKPORT COUNTY and are on a total of 64 goals. County are on 65 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games.

Meanwhile, LUTON TOWN won 3-0 away to AFC Wimbledon and are now on a total of 63 goals and have now scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games. PLYMOUTH won 3-0 away to Barnsley and are now on a total of 68 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. After they had failed to score in their last two games, LEYTON ORIENT lost 2-1 at home to HUDDERSFIELD TOWN and are on a total of 57 goals. Huddersfield are on 66 goals.  BLACKPOOL picked up their 14th blank of the season after they lost 1-0 away to Stevenage. WYCOMBE WANDERERS lost 2-1 at home to Bradford and hit goal number 67. 

In League Two, we still have Bromley at the top with MK DONS in second place after they had failed to score in their last two games, drew 1-1 away to Oldham and are on a total of 84 goals. NOTTS COUNTY are in third place, and they won 3-1 at home to Newport and are now on a total of 73 goals.

In the Play-offs, we have SWINDON TOWN in fifth place won 2-1 at home to WALSALL and are on a total of 76 goals, and have extended their goal run to 21 league/cup games. Walsall are on a total of 58 goals. CHESTERFIELD are in seventh place as they win 1-0 away to Barrow and are on a total of 65 goals.

Meanwhile, CREWE won 1-0 at home to Salford and are on a total of 63 goals. BARNET have picked up their biggest result of the season after they won 5-2 away to Fleetwood. Barnet have taken their goals tally to 60 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. GILLINGHAM won 2-0 at home against Accrington and are on a total of 51 goals.

Week Thirty-Five

In Week Thirty-Five of the competition, we did not have any prize money again this week, due to the internationals being played and the Easter fixture. We do have our sixth Rollover next weekend worth £10. 

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Half of us managed to pick up some goals this week, which means that our top six has mainly stayed the same as last week’s table once again. It was PHIL COLLINS that picked up the most amount of goals on Good Friday with 8 goals. They came from Leicester City, Sheffield United and Stockport County. Still out in front again this week we have KEITH RATTLE, now with a total of 92 goals and still needs just 8 goals to win the cash. Keith’s teams are Chelsea, Rangers and Wrexham. In second place, we still have BARBARA BARNES (1) now on a total of 84 goals. In third place, we still have SCOTT THOMSON (1) now on a total of 79 goals. In fourth place, we still have MICHAEL FISHER now on a total of 78 goals. In fifth place, we still have JOHN FILTNESS, our 2023/24 joint Champion and TONY GUY (3) but they are now joined with PHIL COLLINS who moves back in the race. All on a total of 77 goals. In sixth place, we have RICHIE WILLIAMS now with a total of 75 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had a total of 16 of our teams in action this weekend plus we had another 4 of our teams that failed to score any goals. Due to the international games and the Easter fixtures being played over the week, we were very low on goals once again. The highest score over the weekend was 7 goals, and we had just one of our teams that reached that score. They were from CHELSEA in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Lets get on with the results to see how your teams have performed this weekend.

FA CUP Quarter-Finals

We had six of our Golden Goals teams in the quarter-finals and out of them three are through to the semi-finals. The ones that are in the semi-finals are MANCHESTER CITY after they won 4-0 at home to LIVERPOOL and have taken their goals tally to 93 goals. City have extended their goal run to 13 league/cup games. Liverpool after a goal run of 13 league/cup games, picked up their 6th blank of the season. CHELSEA picked up their biggest result of the season as they win 7-0 at home to Port Vale. Chelsea who had failed to score in their last two league games, have now taken their goals tally up to 84 goals. SOUTHAMPTON won 2-1 at home against ARSENAL and are on a total of 76 goals and have extended their goal run to 17 league/cup games. Arsenal picked up goal number 81. WEST HAM UNITED drew 2-2 against Leeds Utd after the full 90 minutes. That score remained after extra time. West Ham are on a total of 45 goals. West Ham then lost 4-2 on penalties.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

In the Premiership, top of the table HEARTS drew 2-2 away to bottom of the table Livingston and are on a total of 73 goals. It’s 80 goals for RANGERS in second place after they won 4-2 at home to Dundee Utd. In third place we have CELTIC won 2-1 away to Dundee and are on a total of 74 goals. After they had failed to score in their last two games, HIBERNIAN won 3-0 at home against Kilmarnock and are now on a total of 53 goals.

In the Championship, after they had failed to score in their last two games, AYR UNITED drew 1-1 at home to Partick and picked up goal number 52. Bottom of the table ROSS COUNTY lost 4-0 at home to Airdrieonians and picked up their 15th blank of the season.

In League One, STENHOUSEMUIR are now top of the table after they won 3-0 at home to Hamilton. Stenhousemuir are now on a total of 56 goals and have now scored in all of their last 9 league games. EAST FIFE lost 1-0 away to Montrose and picked up their 13th blank of the season. COVE  RANGERS lost 1-0 at home to Alloa and picked up their 15th blank of the season.

In League Two, CLYDE in third place won 3-1 at home to Stirling and are now on a total of 59 goals. DUMBARTON drew 1-1 away to Stranaer and are on a total of 49 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 7 league games.

Our BEST three teams are

MANCHESTER CITY (93) CHELSEA (84) MK DONS (83) Total of 260 goals.

Our WORST three teams are

  SUNDERLAND (35) EAST FIFE (36) NOTTINGHAM FOREST (36) Total of 107 goals.

Our best performing team is MANCHESTER UNITED after they have now scored in all of their last 20 league/cup games. With a total of just 59 goals, their average score is 1.7 goals per game.

Our worst performing team is BRISTOL CITY this weekend, as they have picked up 16 blank score sheets out of their 44 league/cup games.

Our highest scoring team in our 43rd season is MANCHESTER CITY. They won 10-1 at home against Exeter City in the FA CUP 3rd Round, 

in Week Twenty-Three. We have a new leader this week as KEITH RATTLE moves to the top to become our 8th player to do so. Keith picked up a total of 13 goals from the week. Keith’s teams are Chelsea, Rangers and Wrexham. Keith is just two goals clear of Tony Guy (2) who moves into second place with his total of 10 goals at the weekend. Tony’s teams are Arsenal, Celtic and Chelsea.

At the other end at 111 we still have CHARLIE FARLEY(John Wood) there for his 14th consecutive week and now fifteen over the season. John picked up 3 goals this weekend. His teams are Cove Rangers, East Fife and Stenhousemuir. John remains in 43rd place this week in our Losers League. 

As you can see that we had a slight change in our top ten this weekend. Our Champion will win £100 this season.
