Week Thirty-Eight

In Week Thirty-Eight of the competition, the highest score that we had went to two of our players this weekend. They are CHRIS NUNN and KEAMUS SETNA, our 2005/06 Champion. Both scored a total of 11 goals from their teams. Chris had Barnet 6, Liverpool 3 and Manchester City 2. Keamus had Cardiff City 5, Celtic 3 and Liverpool 3.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Not many of us managed to pick up some goals again this week, which means that our top six has mainly stayed the same as last week’s table once again. Still out in front this week, we have KEITH RATTLE, now with a total of 94 goals, he now needs just 6 goals to win the cash prize money of £25. Keith’s teams are Chelsea, Rangers and Wrexham. In second place, we still have BARBARA BARNES (1) now with a total of 89 goals. In third place, we still have PHIL COLLINS, now with a total of 86 goals. In fourth place, we still have SCOTT THOMSON (1) now on a total of 84 goals. In fifth place, we still have MICHAEL FISHER, now on a total of 81 goals. In sixth place, we now have PETER PORTER, who moves into the race on a total of 80 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had 8 of our teams not in action this weekend, plus we had another 9 of our teams that failed to score any goals. The average score this weekend fell from 8 goals last weekend to 6 goals this weekend. Well done if your teams scored more than that. The highest score over the weekend was 6 goals, and we had just one of our teams that reached that score. They came from BARNET.

Barnet started with Golden Goals back in the 1992/93 season, on where they finished on their, then, highest score of 69 goals. They then became our 81st English team to join. Last time out was back in the 2005/06 season they finished with a total of 51 goals. This is their 6th season with us, and over that time they have now netted a total of 377 goals. That now gives them an average score of 62 goals per season to date. This season they have scored a total of 71 goals, which becomes their best season. They have had a total of nine blank scoresheets, and they have just one vote.

Lets get on with the results to see how your teams have performed this weekend.
