Third League Win for Hearts

In the Scottish Premiership, HEARTS have moved up to 3rd place after they won 3-1 away to HIBERNIAN. Hearts are now on a total of 16 goals and have now scored in all of their 5 league/cup games. Hibs picked up goal number 7 and have scored in all of their 5 league/cup games.

In the Championship WREXHAM have won their first league game 3-0 away to Millwall. With their biggest result of the season, Wrexham are now on a total of 6 goals. It’s 10 goals for CARDIFF CITY after they lost 2-1 away to QPR. Cardiff have now scored in all of their 6 league/cup games. It’s also 10 goals for CHARLTON after they drew 1-1 away to West Brom. Charlton have now scored in all of their 6 league/cup games.  BURNLEY drew 1-1 at home to MIDDLESBROUGH and hit goal number 6. Middlesbrough are on 11 goals and have extended their goal run to 6 league/cup games. 

In League One AFC WIMBLEDON lost 4-1 away to Burton and are on a total of 3 goals. LUTON TOWN won 2-0 at home to STOCKPORT COUNTY and are on a total of 13 goals. Stockport picked up their first blank of the season. MK DONS lost 3-1 away to Wigan and are on a total of 5 goals. READING have picked up their first league win as they win 5-0 at home against Mansfield. Reading with their biggest result to date, have taken their goals tally to 12.

Derby and West Ham's 1st Win

In the Championship DERBY COUNTY have won their first league game 2-0 away to Portsmouth and are on a total of 6 goals. BRISTOL CITY have picked up their highest result to date after they won 3-1 away to PRESTON NE. City are now on a total of 7 goals. Preston have not picked up any points so far and after they have failed to score in their last two games, They are on a total of 4 goals. WEST HAM UNITED have picked up their first win with a 4-2 home win against WOLVES. West Ham have taken their goals total to 15 goals and have now scored in all of their 6 league/cup games. Wolves are on a total of 16 goals and they they have also now scored in all of their 6 league/cup games. BIRMINGHAM CITY drew 1-1 at home against SOUTHAMPTON and are on a total of 7 goals. Southampton are on a total of 13 goals and they have scored in all of their 6 league/cup games. 

In League One, HUDDERFSIELD TOWN top of the league after they won 3-1 at home against OXFORD UNITED. Huddersfield are now on a total of 10 goals and have now scored in all of their 5 league/cup games. Oxford are on 5 goals. CAMBRIDGE UNITED won 2-1 away to Bradford and are on a total of 9 goals. Yet another big defeat for BROMLEY as they lost 5-0 at home to Leyton Orient. LEICESTER CITY win their first game and get their highest result as they win 2-0 at home against Plymouth. City are on a total of 6 goals. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY won 2-1 away to Wycombe and are on a total of 12 goals. 

In League Two BRISTOL ROVERS are top after they won 2-0 at home against Colchester and are on a total of 11 goals. GRIMSBY TOWN drew 2-2 away to Accrington and are on a total of 6 goals. YORK CITY lost 3-2 away to Cheltenham and are on a total of 8 goals. CHESTERFIELD drew 1-1 at home against GILLINGHAM and they are on a total of 3 goals. Gillingham picked up their second goal of the season. EXETER CITY drew 1-1 at home to BARNET and are on a total of 4 goals while Barnet are on 10 goals and have now scored in all of their 5 league/cup games. After the had failed to score in their last two games, SALFORD CITY have won their first game 2-1 at home to Newport. Salford are on a total of 4 goals. PORT VALE still yet to win a game, lost 3-1 away to Swindon and are on a total of 2 goals.

Week Four

Here we are with Week Four of the competition and this weekend we had a total of three winners, which take our winners total to six. Our winners are BISH-BASH-BOSH (Keith Rattle), PHIL REEVE our double Champion from 1987/88 and 2011/12, and ANN WELLARD.  All won on a score of 12 goals, which is the highest score to date. and they have a share of the £6 prize money this weekend. All three winners are in their highest position to date. 

Keith, started with his Bish-Bash-Bosh, in the 2023/24 season on where he finished in 98th place out of 110 with a total of 263 goals. Last season he finished in 104th place out of 111 with 213 goals. This season he has already picked up two blank weekend score sheets.

Phil started with us in our very first season of 1983/84 on where he finished in 15th place out of 25 with 256 goals. Phil has been Champion twice. First in the 1987/88 season and then again in the 2011/12. Last season he finished in 42th place out of 111 with 254 goals. Phil picked up two weekend wins.

Ann joined in the 2003/04 season and finished in 83rd place out of 90 with a total of 228 goals. Ann had one shared weekend win. Last season she finished in 92nd place with a total of 228 goals. Their teams are for this season

All of us are now in the race for the cash, as most of us picked up some great scores in midweek. The £50 prize money will go to the first person to reach 100 goals from their three teams. It was STALKY (1) Bob Burgin that picked up the most goals with a total of 14. they came from Brentford 6, Manchester City 4 and West Ham United 4.

Still in the lead after four weeks of football, we have CHARLIE FRALEY (John Wood) still with a total of 26 goals. His teams are East Kilbride, Rangers and Stenhousemuir. In second place, we have our 2010/11 & 2022/23 double Champion, TONY GUY (3) now with a total of 25 goals. In third place we now have MANDYME26 up from four now on a total of 20 goals. In fourth place, down from three we have CJEXPRESS26 still with a total of 18 goals. In fifth place down from four we have DAVID BARRETT and GUY DOWSETT (1) both on a total of 17 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had a fantastic weekend, with really high scores; so it was another really good weekend for us. We had 9 teams with no game over the weekend, and another 12 of our teams that failed to score any goals. The average score jumped up from three, last weekend to 5 goals, which is our highest score of the season, which is good as we had a total of just 5 players failing to pick up any goals. If your  combination picked up more than that, then you have done very well this weekend. 

The highest score, over the weekend was 7 goals and they came from League One where SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY won 7-2 at home to BROMLEY. With their biggest result to date, Wednesday are now on a total of 10 goals.

Wednesday became our 21st voted team in our very first season, on where they finished with a total of 95 goals. They have hit 100 goals twice, but their highest score came in the 1990/91 season with 101 goals. The last season that we had Wednesday was back in the 2023;24 season with 52 goals. This is their 21st appearance with Golden Goals and over that time they have netted a total of 1550, which gives them an average score of 73 goals per season to date. City Win Second Game

In the Premier League, MANCHESTER CITY have won both their opening league games after they won 4-1 away to CRYSTAL PALACE. With their highest result of the season, City have taken their goals tally to 6 goals. Palace have lost both their opening games as they pick uo their first goal of the season. 

In the Championship, BIRMINGHAM CITY have won their first league game 2-1 away to WREXHAM. City are on a total of 6 goals, while Wrexham have lost their first league game and are on a total of 3 goals. 

In the Scottish League Two, DUNFERMLINE have won their first league game, 1-0 at home to Raith Rovers. Dunfermline are on a total of 13 goals.

The last games of the League Cup second round have now been played and we had another three of our teams in action. CHELSEA are through to the next round after they won 2-0 at home against LUTON TOWN. Chelsea are on a total of 5 goals. Luton picked up their first blank of the season. AFC WIMBLEDON are knocked-out of the cup after they lost 3-0 away to Fulham. Wimbledon have now had three consecutive blank score sheets.

We had another 5 of our teams in  cup action and out of them, only two are through to the next round. NEWCASTLE UNITED won 3-2 at home to West Brom, and they are on a total of 5 goals. TOTTENHAM won 5-1 at home against CHARLTON. With their biggest result of the season, Tottenham are now on the score sheet. Charlton picked up goal number 8.

COVENTRY CITY have picked up their first goals of the season after they won 4-2 away to Plymouth. It’s 10 goals for WOLVES after they won 2-0 away to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY. Wednesday picked up their second consecutive blank score sheet. READING won 3-0 away to Stevenage and are now on a total of 7 goals. First Win For Chelsea

In the Premier League in their opening game, CHELSEA scored their first goals of the season after they won 3-2 away to Fulham.

Week Three

Here we are with Week Three of the competition and this weekend we had our third winner of the season. Our winner was MIKE PEPPERRELL our 2002/03 Champions, who won on a score of just 8 goals, which is the lowest score to date. and has won himself £6 this weekend. 

Mike started with us back in the 2000/01 season, where he finished in 89th place out of 102 on a total of 229 goals. He became our 20th Champion, in the 2002/03 season, winning on a total of 338 goals. Mike is in 5th place in our Champions League. Last season, he finished in 45th place out of 111 with a total of 252 goals and had one shared weekend win. This season he has picked up his personal best score and has had no blank score sheets to date. This is his highest position so far this season. His teams for this season are

Holders Arsenal Win 1st Game

In the Premier League the very first game has now been played between last season’s champions ARSENAL against COVENTRY CITY. The three points go to Arsenal after they won 3-0 at home to Coventry City.

In the Scottish Championship, PARTICK drew 1-1 away to Inverness CT and are now on a total of 17 goals

In  League One SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY have picked up their first blank score sheet after they lost their second league game, 1-0 at home against Bradford City.

In the Championship, CARDIFF CITY drew their opening game 1-1 at home to WREXHAM. Wrexham went into the lead inside the first three minutes before Cardiff equalised in the very last kick of the game in injury time.

Week Two

Here we are with Week Two of the competition and this weekend we had a near full league fixture, which gave us our second winner of the season. Our winner was PETER PORTER who won on a score of 11 goals and has won himself £6 this weekend. Peter started with us back in the 1989/90 Season, where he finished in 40th place out of 44 on a total of 182 goals. He also picked up one shared weekend win. Last season, Peter finished in 41st place out of 111 with a total of 255 goals and had two weekend wins. This season he has picked up his personal best score and has no blank score sheets to date. His teams for this season are

We can now have our first look at who is in the lead for our 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot worth a total of £50 this season. The prize money will go to the first person to reach 100 goals from their three teams.

Taking the lead after two weeks of football, we have CHARLIE FRALEY (John Wood) with 26 goals already. His teams are East Kilbride, Rangers and Stenhousemuir. WEEKEND RESULTS

We had the start of the lower English fixture’s and we had a few high scores, the overall, was a good start to the season. We had 4 teams with no game over the weekend, with another eight of our teams that failed to score any goals and another 14 teams without a game. So for our very first weekend the average score was just 4 goals, which is good as a total of 16 players failed to pick up any goals. If your combination picked up more than that, then you have done very well this weekend.

The highest score over the weekend was 6 goals and they came from the Scottish League Cup 2nd Round where HEARTS won 6-2 at home to Inverness CT. With their biggest result to date, Hearts are now on a total of 11 goals.

Hearts became our 11th voted team back in the 1986/87 season and they finished on a total of 72 goals. Their highest score of 98 goals was reached in the 2014/15 season. Last season they finished on a total of 85 goals. This is their 19th appearance with Golden Goals and over the years they have netted a total of 1249 goals, which gives them an average score of 65 goals per season to date. Hearts have three votes this season and they have started the season well.

CHARLTON have won their first league game 2-1 at home against DERBY COUNTY. Charlton are on a total of 5 goals while Derby are on 2 goals. MIDDLESBROUGH won 2-1 at home to Lincoln City and are on a total of 3 goals. PRESTON NE lost their opening game 2-1 away to Bolton. Preston are on a total of 2 goals. BRISTOL CITY lost 2-0 at home to Millwall and have now failed to score any goals in their first two games of the season, including their cup game. BRIMINGHAM CITY drew 0-0 away to Sheffield United and picked up their first blank score sheet of the season. SOUTHAMPTON have already started the season with a 4 point deduction, so not the result that they wanted as they lost 2-1 away to Watford. Southampton are on a total of 3 goals. BURNLEY drew their first game 2-2 at home to WEST HAM UNITED. Burnley are on a total of 3 goals while West Ham are on 5 goals.

LEAGUE ONE 

BROMLEY won their first game 1-0 away to Barnsley, and are on a total of 2 goals. LEICESTER CITY drew 1-1 in their opening game against Notts County away. Leicester are on a total of 2 goals. OXFORD UNITED have picked up their first goals in their 2-2 draw against MK DONS at home. The Dons are on a total of 3 goals. LUTON TOWN picked up their biggest win to date as they win 4-3 away to READING. Luton are now on a total of 7 goals, while Reading are on 4 goals. CAMBRIDGE UNITED picked up their biggest result after they won 3-2 at home against Wigan, and are now on a total of 5 goals. HUDDERSFIELD TOWN won 3-0 at home to AFC WIMBLEDON and with their biggest result of the season, they are now on a total of 4 goals. Wimbledon picked up their first blank of the season. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY won 2-1 away to Leyton Orient and are on a total of 3 goals. STOCKPORT COUNTY won their opening game 3-1 away to Plymouth. County are on a total of 4 goals.

LEAGUE TWO

BARNET won their opening game 3-1 at home to SALFORD CITY and are on a total of 4 goals. Salford are on a total of 2 goals. PORT VALE lost their opening game 2-0 away to Oldham, and that is their second blank of the season. CHESTERFIELD have picked up their second blank of the season after they lost 1-0 at home to Fleetwood. GILLINGHAM also picked up their second blank score sheet after they lost 3-0 at home to Walsall. GRIMSBY TOWN won 1-0 at home against EXETER CITY and are on a total of 2 goals. Exeter picked up their second blank of the season. YORK CITY have won their first league game and goals in their 3-2 at home to BRISTOL ROVERS. Rovers also picked up their first goals.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

In the Scottish League Cup 2nd Round, we already know that Ayr United have been knock-out in this round, but we had another 7 of our teams in action.  ABERDEEN are through to the next round after they won 3-0 at home to Dundee and have taken their goals tally to 16 goals. DUNFERMLINE are out after they lost 2-1 at home to Ross County. Dunfermline are on a total of 12 goals. CELTIC won 4-0 away to Dundee Utd and have taken their goals tally to 10 goals. HEARTS have picked up their biggest win of the season as they win 6-2 at home against Inverness CT. Hearts have taken their goals tally to 11 goals in three games. HIBERNIAN won 1-0 at home to PARTICK THISTLE and are on a total of 4 goals. Partick, after a goal run of 6 league/cup games, picked up their first blank of the season. STENHOUSEMUIR drew 0-0 at home against Motherwell after the full 90 minutes but then won 1-0 in extra time. Stenhousemuir are on a total of 10 goals. RANGERS picked up their biggest result of the season as they win 5-1 at home to St Mirren. Rangers have now taken their goals tally to 7 goals.

In League One EAST KILBRIDE have won their second league game, 3-0 at home to Cove Rangers and are now on a total of 22 goals and a goal run of 7 league/cup games.

In League Two, CLYDE have won their second league game 2-1 away to Annan. Clyde are on a total of 11 goals.
