In Week Four of the competition and this weekend we had two winners to
share the Weekend Jackpot of £6, winning on a total of 8 goals each. One of our
winners becomes our third lady to win this season or should I say fourth as the
deadly duo AVA
& AUBREY CLARK have joined up
together. Our other winner is MICK LIDDLE for the boys.
Ava & Aubrey are in their first Golden Goals Season and they have
started off very well. This is their second consecutive weekend were they have
picked up eight goals at the weekend. Their best team is Sunderland netting
twelve of their total of 26 goals.
Mick has been with us for quite a few seasons now and this is his highest
position to date. Mick finished in 61st place on 277 goals last
season but failed to win any cash. So a good start for him as well. Mick’s best

GOALS JACKPOT
Most of us picked
up some more midweek goals this week with four players picking up the highest
score with six goals. . They are Martin Corbett, Graham Phillips, Ricky Wood and Ryan Williams.
We have a
new leader this week and the player is GARY BROWN with 16 goals, who was
second last week. Gary has Ayr Utd, Manchester City and Sunderland. GRAHAM HARRIS moves down to second place still with 15 goals. In third
place down from two we have JAMES
SOMERVILLE with 12 goals. In fourth place on 11 goals is still JAMES BLYTH and TERRIE WARWICK but they are now joined with MARTIN CORBETT. In fifth place on 10 goals we have RYAN WILLIAMS.
WEEKEND
RESULTS
It was more
of a quite weekend for goals this week. Our average score for this weekend fell
from nine last weekend to 4 goals this weekend. So if your combination picked
up more than that, then you have done well.
We had just
three teams that had no game over the weekend and another ten that failed to
score any goals.
The highest
score came from the English League One
where PETERBOROUGH
picked up their highest result of our 36th Season with a 5-1 away win over PLYMOUTH. Peterborough have now taken their goals tally
up to 15 goals and are top of the league this weekend having won all of their
five league games. Plymouth picked up their fifth goal of the season.
Peterborough
became our 90th voted team in Golden Goals and they are in their
13th season with us. Borough started with us back in the 1997/98
Season where they finished on a total of 73 goals. Their highest score is 129
goals scored in the 2010/11 Season. Last season they finished on a total of 85
goals. Over the years they have netted a total of 1005 goals which gives them
an average score of 77 goals per season. They have just one blank score sheet
this season and they have just two votes.
PREMIERSHIP
The Premiership have now played their third league game of
the season but it’s all change at the top. After their win against Crystal
palace in midweek, LIVERPOOL won their third game with a 1-0 home win
against Brighton. Liverpool are now on a total of 7 goals. In second place in
the league is still CHELSEA after they won 2-1 away to Newcastle.
Chelsea are now on 8 goals and they have also won all of their three games. MANCHESTER
CITY have fallen down to fourth place after they drew 1-1 away to WOLVES
and after going a goal down in the second half. City have taken their goals
total to 9 goals while Wolves picked up goal number three. ARSENAL are on
5 goals as they beat WEST HAM 3-1 with their biggest result of the
season to date. West Ham are now rock bottom of the league after they have lost
all three games. They are on a total of 3 goals. BURNEMOUTH drew 2-2 at
home to EVERTON. Both teams are on 6 goals each. LEICESTER CITY
are on 5 goals as they win 2-1 away to Southampton. FULHAM picked up
their highest score to date as they win 4-2 at home to Burnley to take their
goals tally to 5.
CHAMPIONSHIP
After five games now LEEDS UNITED are top after they
win 3-0 away to Norwich. Leeds have kept their 100% scoring record going after six
games and they are now on a total of 16 goals. ASTON VILLA drew 1-1 at
home to Reading and that is their 11th goal and they have also
scored in all of their six games this season. BLACKBURN are on 11 goals
as they win 1-0 at home to BRENTFORD who picked up their first blank of
the season. DERBY are also doing well as they win 2-0 at home against
Preston and they are now on 10 goals. NOTTINGHAM FOREST picked up
another two goals in their 2-2 home draw against BIRMINGHAM. Forest are
now on 8 goals while Birmingham, after a four game dry spell for goals, are now
on 4 goals. IPSWICH lost 2-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday and they are
now on 5 goals but bottom of the league. STOKE are on 6 goals as they
win 2-0 at home to HULL who picked up their second blank of the season. SWANSEA
also picked up their second blank as they lost 1-0 at home to Bristol City.
LEAGUE ONE
As we have already told you that Peterborough are top
here with SUNDERLAND moving up to second place after they won 2-1 away
to AFC Wimbledon. PORTSMOUTH are down to third after they drew 0-0 away
to Doncaster to pick up their first blank of the season. ACCRINGTON STANLEY
drew 1-1 away to Blackpool and they are now on 8 goals while WYCOMBE won
their first game, 2-1 away to Bradford and they are on 5 goals. BRISTOL
ROVERS lost 1-0 at home to SOUTHEND to get their first blank of the
season. Southend scored goal number 8. CHARLTON drew 0-0 at home to
Fleetwood to pick up their third blank score sheet and now two in a row. Charlton
have now scored just one goal in their last four games. COVENTRY drew
1-1 away to Gillingham to pick up their third goal of the season and now only
two goals in their last five games. LUTON scored their highest result to
date after they won 3-2 at home to SHREWSBURY. Luton are now on 7 goals
while Shrewsbury picked up goal number 4 after at wo game dry spell. BURTON
ALBION are on a total of 6 goals after they lost 2-1 away to Oxford Utd. ROCHDALE
lost 2-1 at home to Walsall and that is their 8th goal of the
season. SCIUNTHORPE drew 2-2 at home against BARNSLEY and after a
two game dry spell for goals are now on 6 goals. Barnslay are now on 13 goals.
LEAGUE TWO
LINCOLN
CITY are top here this
weekend as they win 3-1 at home to NOTTS COUNTY. Lincoln have scored in
all of their six games this season and are now on a total of 15 goals. County
are now on 8 goals and bottom of the league. MK DONS are now in second
place as they win 1-0 at home to EXETER. Mk Dons are on a total of 8
goals while Exeter move down to third place with their first blank of the
season. It’s 10 goals for SWINDON as they drew 1-1 away to Forest Green.
MANSFIELD drew 1-1 away to Macclesfield and they are now on 13 goals. OLDHAM
won 2-0 away to Morecombe and that takes them up to 7 goals.
SCOTTISH
LEAGUES
In the
Scottish Premiership, HEARTS remain
top as they win 1-0 away to Kilmarnock. Hearts are now on a total of 20 goals
and they have scored in all of their eight games played. CELTIC have moved up to second place, which will please our fans
here at Golden Goals as they win 1-0 at home to HAMILTON. Celtic picked up goal number 7 while Hmailton picked up
their third blank of the season. HIBERNIAN
are in third place as they drew-1 at home to ABERDEEN in fifth place. Hibs are now on 8 goals while Aberdeen are
on 7. RANGERS could of moved up to
second place after they drew 3-3 against Motherwell away. Rangers were 3-2 up
with seconds to play. Rangers are now on 9 goals.
In the Championship, AYR UNITED are top as they win 4-1 at home to Dunfermilne to give
them a total of 21 goals. FALKIRK
lost 3-0 at home to Queen of South and that is their fourth blank of the season.
ALLOA drew 2-2 away to Inverness CT
and they are now on a total of 10 goals after a three game dry spell for goals.
ROSS COUNTY lost 2-1 away to Morton
and they are on 13 goals and a goal scoring run of eight games.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are up to second place after they picked up their
biggest score with a 4-3 away win over Airdrieonians. Rovers are now on a total
of 11 goals. STENHOUSEMUIR lost 2-0 away
to Forfar and that gives them a total of five blank score sheets with just one
goal in their last three games. DUMBARTON
lost 3-2 away to Brechin and they are now on 8 goals.
In League Two, PETERHEAD are still top of the league this weekend after they won 2-0
away to Stirling. Peterhead are now on 8 goals.

goal scorers in our 36th Season are WEST BROM who won 7-1 at home to
Queens Park Rangers in their fourth league game of the season.
Gary Brown becomes the second
player to reach the number one slot this weekend. Gary moved to the top this weekend after
picking up eleven goals this week. Four of the goals came from midweek and the
other seven at the weekend from Ayr United, Manchester City and Sunderland. Gary
is just three goals in front of last weeks leader Graham Harris who picked up just one goal at the weekend from
Hearts.
At the other end at 133 we have our
2016/17 Champion John Wood who picked
up a total of three goals at the weekend. He has Arsenal, Manchester United and
Tottenham and becomes the fourth player to stay there this season.
