In Week Twenty-Four of the competition, we had just one winner to collect the full £5 Weekend Prize Money. That went to PETER PORTER who picked up his second win of the season. He won on a total of just 7 goals.
Peter last won in Week Fourteen and becomes the first player to win twice this season. Since then he has now had a total of 4 blank weekend score sheets and his highest position is now 19th place in Week Twenty-One. Celtic is his best team. His teams are once again

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Most of us managed to pick up some goals this week, which means that our top five are pulling away from the rest of the field. We now have a total of 16 players who have reached the halfway mark. It was DOUG MORBEY that picked up the most number of goals with 11. They came from Chelsea, Liverpool and Rangers.
Out in front this week we now have KEITH RATTLE moving up from three now with a total of 64 goals. Keith’s teams are Chelsea, Rangers and Wrexham. In second place down from one is BARBARA BARNES (1) now with a total of 63 goals. In third place down from two we have SCOTT THOMSON (1) now on a total of 59 goals. In fourth place we still have MICHAEL FISHER now with a total of 57 goals. In fifth place up from sixth we now have TONY GUY (3) and coming back into the frame. JOHN FILTNESS our joint 2023/24 Champion. Both on a total of 56 goals.
WEEKEND RESULTS
We had 7 teams without a game this weekend, plus another 18 of our teams failed to score any goals. The average score was eight goals last weekend but this weekend it fell right down to 4 goals. Well done if your teams picked up more than that.
The highest score over the weekend was 4 goals and they came from the SCOTTISH CUP 4th Round where STENHOUSEMUIR won 4-0 against Greenock Morton.

PREMIER LEAGUE
We have the top six teams here with ARSENAL top after they drew their 5th league game 0-0 away to NOTTINGHAM FOREST. Arsenal have picked up their 3rd blank of the season while Forest have picked up 11 now. In the Manchester derby, it was MANCHESTER UNITED that took all three points as they won 2-0 at home to MANCHESTER CITY. United are on a total of 41 goals and have now scored in all of their last 11 league/cup games. City in second place, picked up their 4th blank of the season. In third place we still have ASTON VILLA who lost 1-0 at home to Everton and picked up their 7th blank of the season. LIVERPOOL have moved up to fourth place after they drew 1-1 at home against Burnley and are on a total of 39 goals. CHELSEA won 2-0 at home against Brentford and are on a total of 52 goals and have extended their goal run to 10 league/cup games. SUNDERLAND won 2-1 at home to CRYSTAL PALACE and are on a total of 25 goals. Palace are on a total of 29 goals. WEST HAM UNITED have won their 4th league game by beating London rivals TOTTENHAM 2-1 away. West Ham are on a total of 28 goals while Tottenham hit goal number 35. Bottom of the table WOLVES drew 0-0 at home to NEWCASTLE UNITED and picked up their 11th blank of the season. Newcastle picked up their 7th and now 2 games without a goal.
CHAMPIONSHIP
With Middlesbrough in 2nd place, we have just two teams in the Play-offs, they are IPSWICH TOWN in 3rd place as they won 3-1 at home to BLACKBURN ROVERS and are now on a total of 48 goals. Rovers picked up their 10th blank of the season and now 2 in a row. Rovers have scored just 2 goals in their last 6 games. PRESTON NE in 6th place lost 1-0 at home to Derby and picked up their 6th blank of the season and now 2 in a row.
Meanwhile, LEICESTER CITY lost 2-1 away to Coventry and picked up goal number 42. They have now scored in all of their last 11 league/cup games. WATFORD, after a goal run of 16 league/cup games, picked up their 5th blank of the season after they lost 2-0 at home to Millwall. SHEFFIELD UNITED lost 1-0 away to Charlton. After a goal run of 5 league/cup games, United picked up their 9th blank of the season. BRISTOL CITY drew 0-0 away to Oxford Utd and picked up their 9th blank scoresheet. SOUTHAMPTON lost 2-1 at home to Hull and are on a total of 47 goals. WREXHAM lost 2-1 at home against NORWICH CITY and are on a total of 51 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. Norwich are on a total of 37 goals. BIRMINGHAM CITY drew 1-1 away to Swansea and are on a total of 41 goals.
LEAGUE ONE
CARDIFF CITY are still top of the table after they won 2-1 away to Bradford and are on a total of 55 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 14 league/cup games.
In the Play-offs, we have three of the four teams. STOCKPORT COUNTY have remained 4th place after they won 3-2 at home to Rotherham and are now on a total of 43 goals. BOLTON WANDERERS moved up to 5th place after they won 1-0 away to Wigan and are on a total of 38 goals. In 6th place we now have HUDDERSFIELD TOWN after they lost 3-1 away to Burton and are on a total of 50 goals.
Meanwhile, BLACKPOOL lost 2-1 away to Barnsley and are on a total of 38 goals. Blackpool have now scored in all of their last 10 league/cup games. It’s 40 goals for LEYTON ORIENT after they won 3-1 at home against Reading. LUTON TOWN drew 2-2 at home to Lincoln are on a total of 43 goals. WYCOMBE WANDERERS won 2-1 away to Northampton and are on a total of 41 goals. After a goal run of 8 league/cup games, PETERBOROUGH UNITED picked up their 8th blank of the season after they lost 1-0 at home to PLYMOUTH. Plymouth hit goal number 37 and have extended their goal run to 8 league/cup games.
LEAGUE TWO
BROMLEY who are still top of the table after they drew 0-0 away to CHESTERFIELD, After a goal run of 16 league/cup games, Both teams picked up their 4th blank scoresheet. SWINDON TOWN in 2nd place lost 3-2 at home to Salford and are on a total of 48 goals. Third place WALSALL won 3-1 away to Tranmere and are now on a total of 41 goals.
In the Play-offs, we have two of the four teams with MK DONS in 5th place won 2-0 away to Accrington and are on a total of 55 goals. NOTTS COUNTY in 7th place won 2-1 away to Crawley and are on a total of 40 goals.
Meanwhile, CREWE won 3-1 at home to Barrow and are now on a total of 44 goals. GILLINGHAM won 3-2 at home to Newport and are now on a total of 37 goals. BARNET picked up their 6th blank of the season after they lost 1-0 away to Grimsby.
SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the SCOTTISH CUP 4th Round, we had 7 of our teams in cup action over the weekend and out of them, only 2 have made it through to the next round. They are STENHOUSEMUIR who won 4-0 at home against Greenock Morton and have taken their goals tally to 39. CELTIC, after they won 2-0 away to non-league Auchinleck Talbot. Celtic are on a total of 53 goals,
Teams that also went out are HIBERNIAN after they lost 1-0 away to Dunfermline and picked up their 7th blank of the season after a goal run of 5 league games. AYR UNITED lost 2-0 away to Dundee Utd and picked up their 7th blank of the season. ROSS COUNTY lost 2-0 away to Motherwell and picked up their 9th blank of the season. COVE RANGERS drew 1-1 away to Kelty Hearts after extra time and then they lost 5-3 on penalties. HEARTS drew 1-1 at home to Falkirk after extra time and then lost 5-4 on penalties. Hearts are on a total of 60 goals and have now scored in all of their last 9 league games.

Our best performing team is CARDIFF CITY after they have now scored in all of their last 14 league/cup games. With a total of 55 goals, their average score is 1.7 goals per game.
Our worst performing team is COVE RANGERS this weekend, as they have picked up 12 blank scoresheets in their 26 league/cup games.
Our highest scoring team in our 43rd season are MANCHESTER CITY. They won 10-1 at home against Exeter City in the FA CUP 3rd Round, in Week Twenty-Three.
We now have HAYLEY ADKINS back at the top this weekend, which now makes it her eleventh week over the season. She picked up a total of 10 goals from the week. Her teams are Hearts, Liverpool and Manchester City. Graham Phillips moves into second place this weekend as he picks up a total of 8 goals from his teams this week. Graham is 3 goals behind Hayley with his teams of Arsenal, Celtic and MK Dons.
At the other end at 111 we still have CHARLIE FARLEY(John Wood) there for his third consecutive week and now four over the season. John picked up 5 goals this weekend. His teams are Cove Rangers, East Fife and Stenhousemuir.
As you can see, not a great weekend for goals but the top ten has had a slight change this week
