Midweek Results

We had mostly cup games over last week with twenty of our teams in action in two cup competitions. First we will look at the Capital One Cup 3rd Round where we had 17 of our teams playing. Out of them, eight have managed to go through to the next round. The highest score that we had did in fact come from this round of the cup where MANCHESTER CITY won 7-0 at home to Sheff Wed. This is their highest score of the season and it now becomes our highest score of our 32nd Season. City are now on a total of 15 goals. We also had a few shock results as ARSENAL go out after they lost 2-1 at home to Southampton.  Arsenal are now on a total of 11 goals. EVERTON are also out as they lost 3-0 away to Swansea. That was Everton’s 1st blank of the season. LIVERPOOL are through after they drew 2-2 after extra time and then won 14-13 on penalties. Liverpool are on a total of 9 goals. CARDIFF picked up their 3rd blank of the season and go out of the cup as they lost 3-0 at home to Bournemouth. DERBY beat READING 2-0 at home and they are now on 20 goals while Reading picked up their 3rd blank score sheet and now two in a row. FULHAM won 2-1 at home to DONCASTER and are on 9 goals while Doncaster picked up goal number 13. SHEFFIELD UTD beat LEYTON ORIENT 1-0 away to take their goals tally to 15 while Orient picked up their 4th blank of the season. It’s 30 goals already for MK DONS as they win a place in the next round by winning 2-0 at home to Bradford. NORWICH are out as they lost 1-0 away to Shrewsbury. Norwich have now picked up their 2nd blank of the season. CHELSEA won 2-1 at home against Bolton but they are now on 18 goals. CRYSTAL PALACE lost 3-2 at home to Newcastle and are now on a total of 13 goals. TOTTENHAM are on 10 goals as they won 3-1 at home to NOTTINGHAM FOREST. Forest picked up goal number 21.

In the Scottish Communities League Cup 3rd Round we had just three of our teams left in this competition but we are now down to just two teams. HEARTS go out as they lost 3-0 away to CELTIC. Hearts have now picked up their 2nd blank of the season while Celtic take their goals tally to 16. RANGERS are also through as they win 3-1 away to Falkirk. Rangers are on 22 goals and still have a 100% scoring record after nine games.

The only league game that we had was played between WIGAN and Ipswich where Wigan lost 2-1 at home. Wigan are now on 11 goals.
