Week Seven

TONY KING is at the top this weekend for the very first time this season as he’s combination of  teams pick him up a total of  9 goals over the week with five coming from the weekend. His goals came from Hull 1, Q.P.R 1 and Rangers 3 and he is now just one goal clear of  DANIEL GOODSON and MICK LIDDLE who share second place.

At the other end, JOHN NICHOLLS is in his sixth weekend at number 119 as his combination picked him up a total of just 2 goals. They came from Arsenal 0, Bolton 1 and Newcastle 1.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

This week 72 of you picked some more midweek goals with NATHAN TREADWELL picking up the most with five goals. They came from Middlesbrough 3 and Sheffield United 2. His third team is Manchester City. Nathan is now on a total of 18 midweek goals. This week we then have had a change around for the race for the cash.
TONY KING is in the lead this week with his teams of Hull, QPR and Rangers. Tony moves up from two of last week with a total of 27 goals picking up four more goals. Tony was just one of five people that picked up four goals. In second place both with 24 goals we have down from one MICK LIDDLE and up from four CRAIG EVANS. BARBARA BARNES (2) is still in third place but has been joined with DANIEL GOODSON up from fifth place and TOM MACDONALD all on 23 goals. In fourth place up from five is MALCOLM CORMACK on 21 goals while in fifth place both on 20

We had two players to share this weekend cash prize money of £5 winning on a score of 11 goals each. Both are first time winners for this season and we have now had a total of nine winners. Our winners are MARK GREGORY and ROBERT NETTING.
Mark as been with the competition for eight seasons now and he first started with us back in our 2008/09 Season. In his first season he finished in 49th place out of 102 on 251 goals. Last season he finished in the winning frame in 23rd place on 272 goals taking home just over £5 in cash. This season we see Mark in his highest position so far and with his highest score of the season. He has collected just one blank score sheet to date. His best team is Celtic.
Robert has been with Golden Goals for twelve seasons now and he first started back in our 2004/05 Season. In that season he finished in 86th place out of 105. He netted 243 goals. Last season he finished in the winning frame in 9th place on 291 goals. He had one shared weekend win taking home £17 in cash. This season Rob has also picked up one blank score sheet at the weekend but this is not the highest that he has been. In week one he was in 33rd place. Rob also has Celtic as his best team. WEEKEND RESULTS                
All of us managed to pick up some more goals this weekend as our weekend average score came in at a fantastic 7 goals each.
The highest score that we had over the weekend came from Scottish Premiership where CELTIC picked up their highest score of the season winning 6-0 at home to Dundee. Although Celtic remain second in the table, they are now on 23 goals and they keep their 100% goal scoring record in tack after eight games played.
Celtic are the only Scottish team to have played in all of our 33 Seasons and out of them they have ended on 100 or more goals in fourteen of them. They are our second voted Scots team after Aberdeen in our first season and in our first season they finished on a total of 116 goals. Their best score to date came in our 2000/01 Season with 122 goals. In their last two seasons they have finished on a total of 110 goals. Over the years they have netted a total of 3,084 goals which gives them an average score of 93 goals per season to date.

PREMIERSHIP
We have the top three teams here with MANCHESTER CITY remaining top as they lose their first league of the season 2-1 at home against WEST HAM. City are now on 12 goals while West ham now in third place, take their goals tally to 13.  MANCHESTER UNITED have moved up to second place as they win 3-2 away to Southampton. United are now on a total of 9 goals. In the big London derby, CHELSEA took on  ARSENAL at home and won 2-0. Chelsea are on 9 goals this weekend while Arsenal picked up their third blank score sheet of the season. It’s five goals for WATFORD as they win 2-1 away to NEWCASTLE. Newcastle picked up goal number seven. EVERTON picked up their 3rd blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 away to Swansea. LIVERPOOL still in our worst team frame and 13th in the league, drew 1-1 at home against NORWICH. Liverpool hit goal number four while Norwich are on 11. TOTTENHAM are on 5 goals as they win 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace.

CHAMPIONSHIP
We have the top five teams here this weekend with BRIGHTON still on top as they drew 0-0 away to WOLVES.  Brighton picked up their very first blank of the season after ten games played while Wolves picked up their 2nd. MDDLESBROUGH are second as they win 2-1 away to NOTTINGHAM FOREST. Brough are now on 19 goals while Forest are on 11. In third place is HULL. They drew 1-1 at home to QPR to give their goals tally to 14 and Rangers to 18. Burnley are fourth but they had now game while Ipswich moved down to fifth place. CHARLTON picked up their 2nd blank score sheet as they lost 3-0 away to Blackburn. BRENTFORD won 2-1 at home to PRESTON to give them 11 goals while Preston are on 9. BRISTOL CITY picked up their 2nd blank as they lost 2-0 at home to Reading.
BOLTON picked up their 4th goal of the season as they lost 4-1 away to Huddersfield. MK DONS are on 11 goals as they lost 2-1 at home to LEEDS. Leeds are now on 10 goals. CARDIFF drew 1-1 away to Rotherham and picked up goal thirteen.

LEAGUE ONE
It’s all change here again as  BURTON ALBION become our highest team here in first place. They won 1-0 away to SWINDON. Burton are now on 12 goals while Swindon picked up their 2nd blank of the season. SHEFFIELD UNITED are now down to seventh place as they drew 2-2 away to Bradford. United are now on 15 goals. BLACKPOOL are on 6 goals as they drew 1-1 at home to Barnsley while PORT VALE lost 1-0 away to Bury to collect their 5th blank score sheet and now two in a row. CHESTERFIELD picked up their 3rd as they lost 1-0 away to Coventry. SOUTHEND won 2-0 away to MILLWALL and are on 7 goals while Millwall picked up their 4th blank score sheet. PETERBOROUGH hit goal number 15 as they drew 1-1 at home to Walsall. SCUNTHORPE lost 2-1 away to Rochdale but they are now on 8 goals. WIGAN won 2-1 at home to Fleetwood and are now on 12 goals.

LEAGUE TWO
We still have the top four teams here with LEYTON ORIENT still on top again this weekend as they drew again 1-1 at home to WYCOMBE who remained in fourth place. Orient are now on 16 goals while Wycombe are on 11. PLYMOUTH are still in second place as they drew 1-1 at home to Bristol Rovers. Plymouth keep their 100% goals record going and are now on 15 goals. PORTSMOUTH are still in third place as they drew 1-1 away to Oxford. Portsmouth are now on 17 goals this week. EXETER lost 4-2 away to Accrington and are now on 18 goals.  LUTON are on 16 as they win 1-0 at home to Mansfield. STEVENAGE are on 12 goals as they lose 3-2 away to Barnet. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Premiership even after their biggest win of the season, CELTIC are still in second place to ABERDEEN who won 3-1 away to HEARTS to keep their 100% scoring record going. Aberdeen are now on 15 goals while Hearts in third place are now on 22 goals.
In the Championship RANGERS remained top here again and now seven points in front of Falkirk in second place as they win 3-1 away to Dumbarton. Rangers are still our best team with 33 goals after nine games.  FALKIRK drew their game 1-1 away to Alloa to give them a total of 16 goals. HIBERNIAN are in third place on 12 goals as they win 1-0 away to Livingston. QUEEN OF THE SOUTH drew their game 2-2 at home to Morton after a two game dry spell.
In the lower Leagues, STENHOUSEMUIR lost 1-0 at home to Dunfermline to pick up their 2nd blank of the season. CLYDE lost 1-0 away to East Fife to pick up their 4th blank of the season, After a two game dry spell QUEENS PARK won 3-1 at home to Elgin. Queens are now on a total of 12 goals. BERWICK. lost 2-0 at home to Anna which gave them their second blank of the season.

Our worst team this week is back to BOLTON as they have now picked up six blank score sheets and they have scored just 4 goal in their nine games played.  

Our Best team this weekend is still RANGERS after scoring in all of their nine League and Cup games played they are on a total of 33 goals which is an average of three goals per game.

Our highest scoring team in our 33rd Season is from the Scottish Premiership CELTIC as they win 6-0 at home to Dundee in a league game in week seven.

We still have eight teams left that still have a 100% scoring record of which half of them are still Scottish teams.

We had a good weekend for goals from our Golden Goals teams this weekend so as you can see the we have had a bit of a change around at the top.
