Week Thirty-One

In Week Thirty-One of the competition and we had our fifth Rollover of the season of £12 and we had just one winner. On a score of 8 goals the cash went to his first win of the season JASON COOPER who now becomes our 38th winner of the season.
Jason is in his second season with Golden Goals and this season he has changed all of his teams. Last season, Jason finished rock bottom in 136th place on 189 goals. He had one weekend win in which he shared the cash. This season although he has had a very slow start, since Christmas he has moved off the third and second page and we see Jason in his highest position of the season in 43rd place, as he picked up a total of eighteen goals this week. He has had a total of three blank score sheets to date and his best team is Rangers.  His winning combo are

LIVERPOOL 2, RANGERS 4, TOTTENHAM 2

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Over half of us once again managed to pick up some more midweek goals this weeks but it was STEPTOE & SON that picked up the most amount of goals with a total of twelve. They came from Blackburn with three Manchester City also with three and Tottenham with six goals. The race for the cash has again thinned out with a bit of a change in the running this week.
I’am still in the lead (Me) STEVE REEVE after picking up four goals from Rangers which now takes my total to 91 goals. My teams are Manchester United, Rangers and Wolves. In second place this week on 90 goals and moving up from five is BARBARA BARNES (1). In third place moving down from two we have  JAMES BLYTH on a total of 89 goals. Down from three to four this week is ANDY EYLES on a total of 88 goals. In fifth place down from four is ROBERT FREEMAN on 87 goals. In sixth place both on 86 goals we have STEVE CADWELL down from five and back in the race this week we have GRAHAM WARMAN.

WEEKEND RESULTS
This weekend we were hit with the bad weather of snow and ice which cancelled many of our teams fixtures. But most of our top teams were in action and that gave this weekends average score of 4 goals. Once again all but one of us managed to pick up some goals from our teams which did play. We had thirty-three of our teams with out a game this weekend and another six teams that failed to score any goals.
The highest score that we had came from the Scottish WILLIAM HILL CUP quarter-finals where RANGERS won 4-1 at home against FALKIRK. Rangers have picked up a total of eight goals this week and fifteen over the last four games. Rangers are now on a total of 81 goals. Falkirk picked up goal number 47 but are out of the cup.

PREMIERSHIP
Congratulations to MANCHESTER CITY who scored their 100th Goal of the season as they beat CHELSEA 1-0 at home. This is their fourth season of scoring 100 or more goals but can they now beat their biggest score with Golden Goals with their 137 goals scored in the 2013/14 Season? Chelsea picked up their ninth blank of the season and remain in fifth place. LIVERPOOL are now in second place, eighteen points behind City as they win 2-0 at home to NEWCASTLE. Liverpool take their goals tally to 71 while Newcastle picked up their twelfth blank of the season. Manchester United had no game over the weekend so they go down to third place with TOTTENHAM still in fourth place after they won 2-0 at home to Huddersfield. Tottenham are now on 72 goals and have extended their goals run to twenty-two games. ARSENAL after a three game dry spell for goals, picked up goal number 60 but they lost their tenth league game with a 2-1 away defeat by Brighton. EVERTON lost 2-1 away to Burnley to get their 38th goal of the season while LEICESTER CITY drew 1-1 at home to BOURNEMOUTH. Leicester are now on 59 goals and they have scored in all of their last nine games. Bournemouth hit goal number 43. WEST HAM got hammered 4-1 away to Swansea and that is their 45th goal of the season. WEST BROM picked up their twelfth blank score sheet as they lost 1-0 away to Watford.

CHAMPIONSHIP
We only had four of our teams in action here over the weekend due to the weather. Wolves are still on top here but they had no game and the same went for Cardiff in second place. In the play-off zone, we have two teams still in. They are Aston Villa in third place and FULHAM have move up to fourth place after they won 2-1 away to Derby. Fulham take their goals tally to 61.

We had just one game that survived here and that was top of the table LUTON as they drew 1-1 away to Cambridge United. Luton take their goals tally up to 82 goals. In the play-off zone we still have Mansfield and Exeter.

SCOTTISH RESULTS
In the WILLIAM HILL CUP quarter-finals, we already know that Rangers are through but so are their rivals CELTIC who won 3-0 at home to Morton to take their goals tally to 82. ABERDEEN will have to do it all over again as they drew 1-1 at home to Kilmarnock. Aberdeen after a two game dry spell for goals, are now on 53.

OUR BEST THREE TEAMS this week with Golden Goals are

MANCHESTER CITY (100) PETERHEAD (85) LUTON (82) Total of 267 goals

OUR WORST THREE TEAMS ARE

CRYSTAL PALACE (30) BURTON ALBION (31) BIRMINGHAM (32) Total of 93 goals

The team with the best run of goals is currently TOTTENHAM who have scored in all of their last twenty-two games.

BIRMINGHAM and BURTON ALBION have both picked up the most number of  blank score sheets with a total of eighteen games each.

Our highest goal scoring team in our 35th Season is PETERHEAD from the Scottish League Two. They picked up our highest score in week eleven as they won 9-0 at home to non-league team Colville Park in the WILLIAM HILL CUP Second Round.

CHRIS BOOM is still on top this weekend as his combination picked him up a total of nine goals for the week.Chris has now been at the top for a total of twelve weeks which is the longest yet this season. He is now three goals clear of Paul Davey in second place. The good news for Chris this weekend, is that he has started to move up the Champions League to 34th place. He has beaten Phil Mocklers winning total of 263 goals back in our 1989/90 Season. Chris has the combination of Celtic, Manchester City and Peterhead.
At the other end at number 149 we still have COLIN PINDER back there for his nineteenth weekend. Colin failed to get any goals from his combination once again this week. He has Colchester, Crystal Palace and Southend.
