Week Nine

In Week Nine of the competition and this weekend we had a total of five players that picked up the highest score which means that we will have our third Rollover of the season.
They were CHRIS BOLBERY, GARY BROWN, EMMA NEWMAN, CHRIS SETFORD and JAMES SOMERVILLE all picked up a total of 8 goals each. So next weekend we have a Jackpot of £12.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
All of us picked up some midweek goals this week for the race for the cash. But it has changed just a bit  this week. GRAHAM HARRIS is still top but with a total of 31 goals as he picks up six goals from Hearts and Tottenham. He has Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. In second place and now eleven goals behind Graham we have JUNE TIGHE who has moved up from fifth place last week with 20 goals. In third place we have GARY BROWN down from two, RYAN WILLIAMS up from four and straight in is CLIFF BAMBRIDGE all on 19 goals. In fourth place all on 18 goals we have  JOHN DAVIES down from two, MARTIN CORBETT down from three with ANN WELLARD moving up from five and straight in we have JACQUI WILLIAMS and MANDY WRIGHT. In joint fifth place both on 17 goals we still have TERRY WARWICK and he is now joined with SCOTT THOMSON (2) this week.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had another good weekend for goals this weekend but our average score for the weekend fell from seven last weekend to just 4 goals this weekend. The reason for that is we had three of our teams without a game over the weekend with another twelve teams that failing to score any goals.
The highest score that we had was five goals and we had three teams that picked them up and they were all Scottish teams. They were AYR UNITED, RAITH ROVERS and ROSS COUNTY.

PREMIERSHIP
MANCHESTER CITY have moved back to the top of the Premiership after they won 2-0 at home to Brighton. City have now scored in all of their eight league/cup games and they are now on a total of 24 goals. LIVERPOOL have dropped down to second place after they drew 1-1 away to CHELSEA. Liverpool have now also scored in all of their eight league/cup games and they are now on a total of 16 goals. Chelsea picked up their 17th goal of the season and have remained in third place. TOTTENHAM are now in fourth place after they won 2-0 away to Huddersfield and they have also scored in all of their eight league/cup games. Tottenham are now on a total of 16 goals. Behind them come ARSENAL. They won 2-0 at home to Watford and they are now on a total of 17 goals. They have now scored in all of their last seven games. EVERTON won 3-0 at home to FULHAM and that takes their goal tally up to 14 while Fulham picked up their third blank of the season. LEICESTER CITY won 2-0 away to Newcastle and they are now on a total of 17 goals. WEST HAM after their biggest win of the season in midweek, won their second league game as they beat MANCHESTER UNITED 3-1 at home. West Ham are now on a total of 19 goals while United hit goal number 12. It’s ten goals for WOLVES as they win 2-0 at home to Southampton.

CHAMPIONSHIP
WEST BROM have moved to the top of the table as they win  3-2 away to Preston. West Brom are now on a total of 28 goals. Leeds United have fallen down to second place after their draw in midweek. IPSWICH could of won their first league game after going 2-0 up at half time against BIRMINGHAM away, but Birmingham fought back and drew 2-2. Ipswich are now third from bottom and both teams have a total of 9 goals each. BLACKBURN drew 2-2 at home to NOTTINGHAM FOREST and that now brings their goal tally to 24 goals while Forest are on 20. BRENTFORD also drew 2-2 at home to Reading and they are now on 24 goals. HULL drew 1-1 at home against Middlesbrough. Hull are now on a total of 11 goals. After a two game dry spell for goals, ROTHERHAM are now on 12 goals as they drew 2-2 at home to STOKE who take their goals tally up to 18 and they have now scored in all of their last eight games. SWANSEA after a three game dry spell are now on 10 goals as they win 3-0 at home to Queens Park Rangers.

LEAGUE ONE
PORTSMOUTH are back on top after they won 3-1 away to ROCHDALE. Portsmouth are now on a total of 21 goals while Rochdale picked up goal number 18. PETERBOROUGH are now back down to second place after they drew 2-2 at home to Blackpool.  Borough are now on 26 goals and they have scored in all of their last eight games. SUNDERLAND have moved down to fourth place after they drew 1-1 away to COVENTRY. As Sunderland picked up their 20th goal of the season, Coventry  hit goal number 8. BRISTOL ROVERS picked up their fourth blank of the season after they drew 0-0 away to Bradford. BURTON ALBION drew 0-0 at home to SCUNTHORPE to pick up their second blank score sheet while Scunthorpe picked up their third. BARNSLEY are now on 19 goals as they win 3-1 away to Fleetwood. LUTON drew 2-2 at home to CHARLTON and they are now on 12 goals to Charlton’s 15. PLYMOUTH have still yet to win this season as they lost 3-2 at home to Doncaster to keep them rooted at the foot of the table. Plymouth are now on 10 goals. It’s also 10 for SHREWSBURY as they drew 2-2 at home to Gillingham. ACCRINGTON STANLEY are now on 14 goals as they win 1-0 away to Walsall to extened their goal run to ten games. SOUTHEND picked up their biggest win of the season to date as they win 3-2 away to WYCOMBE. Southend are on a total of 15 goals while Wycombe are now on 17.

LEAGUE TWO
LINCOLN CITY are still top here this weekend and still three points clear after they won 2-0 away to Cheltenham. Lincoln are now on a total of 25 goals. EXETER have moved down to third place after they drew 1-1 away to Port Vale. Exeter are now on 20 goals. MANSFIELD won 4-0 at home to Northampton and that takes their goals total up to 21. MK DONS picked up their fifth consecutive single goal as they drew 1-1 at home to Tranmere. The Dons are now on 13 goals. NOTTS COUNTY won 2-1 at home to Crewe and they are now on 15 goals. SWINDON drew 0-0 at home to OLDHAM and that is their second blank of the season to Oldham’s fourth.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Premiership, HEARTS are still top after they won 2-1 at home to St Johnstone. Hearts have picked up six goals this week and they are now on a total of 31 goals. HIBERNIAN have moved up to second place as they win 1-0 away to St Mirren and that is their 16th goal of the season. CELTIC have moved up to fifth place after they won 1-0 at home to ABERDEEN. Celtic are now on 11 goals while Aberdeen picked up their third blank of the season and now two in a row.. RANGERS have fallen down to sixth place after they lost their second league game 1-0 away to Livingston. Rangers have picked up their second blank score sheet in nine games. HAMILTON lost 2-0 at home to bottom of the table Dundee and that is their fifth blank of the season.
In the Championship, AYR UNITED are still top after they picked up another five goals against Morton in their 5-1 away win. Ayr have taken their goals total to 31. ROSS COUNTY picked up their biggest win of the season with a 5-1 away win over Dundee United. County are now on a total of 20 goals. FALKIRK are still bottom of the table but they won their first league game 2-0 away to ALLOA. Falkirk are now on 9 goals while Alloa picked up their sixth blank score sheet of the season and now three in a row.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are still in second place as they picked up their biggest score of the season with a 5-1 away win over DUMBARTON. Rovers are now on 22 goals while Dumbarton picked up goal number 13. STENHOUSEMUIR are still bottom of the table as they lost 2-0 away to East Fife. Stenhousemuir have now picked up seven blank score sheets in twelve games played.
In League Two, PETERHEAD won 3-1 away to Annan to keep them in second place in the league with a total of 16 goals.

Our Best teams this week are ACCRINGTON STANLEY after they have scored in all of their last ten League and Cup games. They have a total of 14 goals from eleven games played.

Our worst team is ALLOA this weekend as they have picked up a total of six blank score sheets out of eleven league and cup games played this season.They have scored just three goals in their last eight games.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season are now WEST HAM UNITED who won 8-0 at home against Macclesfield in the Carabao/League Cup Third Round. West Brom has the second highest score with a 7-1 home win against Queens Park Rangers in their fourth league game of the season in Week Three.  

GARY BROWN  has remained at the top this weekend, in this two horse race, this is his second weekend at the top and now three for the season. Gary picked up a total of eleven goals with three of them coming from midweek. His teams are once again Ayr United and Manchester City and Sunderland . Graham Harris is now on goal difference as his combination picked him up six goals in midweek and another seven goals at the weekend. His teams are Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom.
At the other end at 133 we still have Sarah Marshall who is now been there for the last two weekends. Sarah picked up a total of five goals for the week with just two goals coming from the weekend from Aberdeen, Celtic and Manchester United.
