Week Sixteen

In Week Sixteen of the competition, we had just forty three players that picked up any goals this weekend as the International games get in the way once again.  Five of them picked up the highest score of five goals from Luton Town. With a full league fixture for next weekend, we will have another Rollover with the winner picking up £12 in cash.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Only one player picked up any goals in midweek from Oldham this week and they were TOM BAXTER. That takes his midweek total up to 16 goals. So the race for the cash has remained the same once again this week.
GRAHAM HARRIS is still out in front with a total of 40 goals. He has Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. In second place and only seven goals behind Graham, we have  JUNE TIGHE,  ANN WELLARD and JACQUI WILLIAMS all on 33 goals. In third place we have RYAN WILLIAMS on 32 goals. In fourth place we have DAVID SOMERVILLE with 31 goals.  In joint fifth place all on 30 goals we have CLIFF BAMBRIDGE, JAMES BLYTH, STEVEN STUBBS, SCOTT THOMSON (2) and TERRY WARWICK.

WEEKEND RESULTS
Due to the International games this week, there has not been that much football for us. Out of the twenty-five of our teams from the lower leagues this weekend, six failed to pick up any goals in their games. So the average score for this weekend was a fat ZERO.
The highest score that we had was five goals and they came from the English League One where LUTON TOWN won 5-1 at home against PLYMOUTH. With their biggest result of the season, Luton are now on a total of 34 goals while Plymouth picked up their 23rd goal of the season.

LEAGUE ONE
Portsmouth have remained top this weekend as they even though they had no game this week. In second place is SUNDERLAND again as they drew 1-1 at home to WYCOMBE. Sunderland are now on a total of 35 goals and they have now scored in all of their last sixteen games. Wycombe scored goal number 30. BARNSLEY are now in third place after they won 2-0 away to ACCRINGTON STANLEY. Barnsley are now on a total of 36 goals while Accrington picked up their third blank score sheet of the season. PETERBOROUGH drew 1-1 at home to Bradford and they are now on a total of 37 goals but fall down to fourth place this week. Luton are in fifth place with Charlton in sixth. SCUNTHORPE won 2-1 away to BRISTOL ROVERS and that takes their goals tally up to 31 goals while Rovers picked up goal number 19. BURTON ALBION are on 32 goals as they win 1-0 at home to COVENTRY who picked up their fifth blank of the season. SHREWSBURY won 3-2 at home to ROCHDALE and they are now on a total of 21 goals to Rochdales 29. SOUTHEND lost 2-1 at home to Blackpool and that is their 25th goal of the season.

LEAGUE TWO
MK DONS have moved to the top of the league this weekend after they won 2-0 at home to Macclesfield. The Dons are now on a total of 30 goals. Lincoln City are down to second place after their game was cancelled. MANSFIELD have moved up to fifth place after they won 1-0 at home to Port Vale. Mansfield are now on a total of 34 goals. EXETER are down to sixth place after they drew 2-2 at home to Northampton. Exeter are now on a total of 31 goals. OLDHAM won 3-1 at home to Cambridge Utd and they are now on 26 goals. SWINDON lost 4-0 at home to Carlisle and that is their eighth blank of the season and now just four goals in their last seven games. NOTTS COUNTY are now second from bottom after they lost 3-0 at home to Cheltenham. County have now had a total of seven blank score sheets and now three in a row.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
We had just five of our Scottish teams in action over the weekend. In the Championship, AYR UNITED are still top this weekend after they drew 0-0 at home to Morton. Ayr picked up their fourth blank of the season.  FALKIRK drew 1-1 at home to Partick to pick up goal number twelve but they are still rock bottom two points behind Partick.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are still in second place after they won 3-1 away to STENHOUSEMUIR in bottom place. Rovers have taken their goals total to 33 and they have now scored in all of their last fourteen games. Stenhousemuir are now on a total of 16 goals. DUMBARTON are now second from bottom after they lost 3-0 away to Forfar. That is their fifth blank of the season.

Our BEST three teams this week with Golden Goals are

MANCHESTER CITY (41) LINCOLN CITY (40) AYR UNITED (40) Total of 121 goals

OUR WORST THREE TEAMS ARE

FALKIRK (12) HAMILTON (14) WOLVES (14) Total of 39 goals

Our Best teams this week are SUNDERLAND after they have scored in all of their last sixteen League and Cup games out of nineteen played. They have a total of 35 goals.

Our worst team is FALKIRK this weekend as they have picked up a total of ten blank score sheets out of eighteen league and cup games played this season. They have scored just three goal in their last seven games.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season are now WEST HAM UNITED who won 8-0 at home against Macclesfield in the Carabao/League Cup Third Round in Week Nine.

GARY BROWN is back on top this weekend as he collects one goal from Sunderland to go one goal in front of the cashing pack. His teams are Ayr Utd, Manchester City and Sunderland.  Gary has now been top for a total of six weeks over the season. COLIN WEBB has moved in to second place on goal difference as he picked up a single goal from Sunderland. His other teams are Manchester City and Rangers.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for his seventh consecutive weekend as none of his combination were in action over the week. He has now had ten weeks at the bottom and he is still ten goals adrift. His teams are  Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool.

Here is our top ten this weekend.
