In Week Fourteen of the competition we have had our 16th winner of the season winning on a total of 15 goals which is the highest winning score this season. The full £5 went to JOHN NICHOLLS with his personal best weekend score. John started with Golden Goals back in the 2005/06 Season on where he finished in 49th place with a total of 240 goals. He picked up two weekend wins and his teams then was Chelsea, Liverpool and Rangers. Last season John finished in at the bottom in 108th place with just 157 goals. In fact John holds the record for finishing rock bottom for four seasons. John’s first season was in 2008/09 then again in the 2014/15, 2020/21 and 2022/23 Seasons. This season we have seen John at the bottom of the table for four weeks. His highest this season is 85th place in Week One. He has picked up just two blank score sheets. 100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Most of us picked up some goals in midweek and the race for the cash has changed slightly again this week. The players that picked up the most amount of goals was BARBARA BARNES (2) and ZIGGY (John Wood) with a total of 11 goals each. Barbara has Charlton, Newcastle and Rangers, while Ziggy has Derby, Liverpool and Rangers.
So the leaders have changed with our 2017/18 Champion CHRIS BOLBERY moving up from second place and ANN WELLARD from fifth place. Both are on a total of 34 goals. In second place we now have ANDY EYLES moving down from first place and MARK GREGORY moving up from fourth place. Both are now on a total of 33 goals. Remaining in third place we still have PETER PORTER with a total of 32 goals. In fourth place we now have CHARLIE FARLEY (John Wood) down from second place with TONY KING moving up from five. Both are now on a total of 31 goals. In fifth place we have BAILEY MORAN moving down from first place with our 2015/16 Champion RICHARD WILLIAMS down from two. Both have a total of 30 goals. In sixth place we now have JAMES SOMERVILLE down from third place with a total of 29 goals.
WEEKEND RESULTS
We had five teams that had no game this weekend and out of the ones that did play, 10 of them failed to score any goals. Most of us managed to pick up some goals this weekend as the average score for the second weekend running remained at 6 goals. So if you received more than that from your teams, well done.
The highest score that we had this weekend was 7 goals and they came the the FA CUP first round where BRISTOL ROVERS won 7-2 at home to non-league Whitby Town. Rovers with their biggest win of the season, are now on a total of 27 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games.
Rovers became our 44th voted English team in our third Season of 1985/86 on where they finished the season on a total of 65 goals. We had to wait till the 2016/17 Season for them to pick up their highest score of 77 goals. Last season they finished on a total of 59 goals. This is their 18th appearance with Golden Goals and over the seasons they have netted a total of 1059 goals. That now gives them an average score of 58 goals per season. This season they have just 1 vote and they have picked up a total of three blank score sheets after 16 games played.
FA CUP First Round
We had 12 of our teams in this round and only 7 have made it through to the next round. They are Bristol Rovers as above, with AFC WIMBLEDON after they won 5-1 at home to Cheltenham Town. Wimbledon with their highest result of the season are now on a total of 31 goals. NOTTS COUNTY won 3-2 at home to Crawley Town and are now on a total of 36 goals. READING won 3-2 at home to MK DONS and are now on a total of 21 goals while the Dons are on 28 goals. SUTTON UNITED won 2-1 at home to non-league AFC Fylde and are on a total of 28 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. BLACKPOOL won 2-0 away to non-league Bromley and are no a total of 28 goals and have now scored in all of their last 10 league/cup games. WREXHAM won 2-1 away to Mansfield Town and are on a total of 31 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games.
In replays we have PETERBOROUGH who drew 2-2 at home to SALFORD CITY. Borough are on a total of 31 goals and have now scored in all of their last 14 league/cup games.Salford are also on a total of 31goals. DERBY drew 2-2 away to Crewe and are on a total of 27 goals. CHARLTON drew 1-1 at home to non-league Cray Valley Paper Mills and are on a total of 27 goals
PREMIER LEAGUE
MANCHESTER CITY are back on top for now after they won 6-1 at home to AFC BOURNEMOUTH. With their biggest result of the season, City are now on a total of 28 goals Bournemouth hit goal number 15. Tottenham are down to second place as they had no game this weekend. FULHAM lost 1-0 at home to MANCHESTER UNITED and picked up their fifth blank of the season. United picked up goal number 15 after they had failed to score in their previous 2 games. WEST HAM lost 3-2 away to Brentford and are on a total of 22 goals. CRYSTAL PALACE won 2-0 away to Burnley and are on a total of 14 goals. BRIGHTON drew 1-1 away to Everton and are on 24 goals. NEWCASTLE won 1-0 at home to ARSENAL and are on a total of 31 goals and have now scored in all of their last 11 league/cup games. Arsenal after a goal run of 12 games, picked up their very first blank of the season. NOTTINGHAM FOREST won 2-0 at home to ASTON VILLA and have taken their goals tally to 12. Villa after a goal run of 7 league/cup games, picked up their second blank of the season. LIVERPOOL drew 1-1 away to Luton with a late goal. Liverpool have kept their 100% scoring record after 13 league/cup games and are on a total of 29 goals.
CHAMPIONSHIP
Leicester City are still top after their defeat on Friday night. IPSWICH are in second place and now 4 points behind City, drew 2-2 away to Birmingham and are on a total of 39 goals and have kept their 100% scoring record after 18 league/cup games. After they had failed to score in their last 2 games, BRISTOL CITY won 1-0 at home to bottom of the table SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY. City are on a total of 20 goals while Wednesday picked up their tenth blank of the season and now just 2 goals in their last 8 league/cup games. SOUTHAMPTON won 1-0 away to Millwall and are now on a total of 26 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. PLYMOUTH drew 3-3 at home to MIDDLESBROUGH and have taken their goals tally up to 30 goals while Brough are now on a total of 33 goals. STOKE drew 0-0 at home against Cardiff and that is their eighth blank of the season. SWANSEA drew 0-0 at home to SUNDERLAND and they have now had a total of three blank score sheet while Sunderland, picked up their fifth. NORWICH lost 3-1 away to Blackburn Rovers. Norwich are on a total of 29 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games,
SCOTTISH RESULTS
In the Scottish League Cup Semi-Finals we had just 3 of our teams in action, HIBERNIAN lost 1-0 at home to ABERDEEN and picked up their fourth blank of the season. Aberdeen are on a total of 19 goals. RANGERS won 3-1 away to Hearts and are now on a total of 33 goals and have extended their goal run to 9 league/cup games. Rangers will play Aberdeen in the final on 17 December.
In the Premiership top of the table CELTIC won 3-0 away to ROSS COUNTY. Celtic are on a total of 28 goals while County picked up their fifth blank of the season. KILMARNOCK won 1-0 at home to Motherwell and are on a total of 26 goals and they have also now scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games.
League One FALKIRK are still top here after they drew 1-1 away to Queen of South. Falkirk are on a total of 37 goals. KELTY HEARTS drew 2-2 away to Annan and are on a total of 30 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. COVE RANGERS won 1-0 at home to Hamilton and they are on a total of 27 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games.
League Two CLYDE lost 2-1 at home to The Spartans. Clyde are on a total of 16 goals. STENHOUSEMUIR won 3-1 away to Forfar and they are now on a total of 20 goals. EAST FIFE lost 2-0 away to Peterhead and picked up their eighth blank score sheet and now two games with out a goal.

Our Best performing team is IPSWICH TOWN after they have now scored in all of their 18 league/cup games. They have a total of 39 goals which gives them an average score of 2 goals per game.
Our worst performing team is SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY this weekend as they have picked up ten blank score sheets out of their 17 league/cup games.
Our highest goal scoring team in our 41st Season are NEWCASTLE UNITED after they won 8-0 away to Sheffield United in Week Eight. BARNSLEY and BRISTOL ROVERS have both pick up our second highest score with 7 goals. Barnsley won 7-0 at home to Port Vale in the first league game of the season in Week One. Bristol Rovers won 7-2 at home to non-league Whitby Town in the first round of the FA CUP in Week Fourteen.
LUCIFER (John Wood) has now become our fourth player to stay at number one. John picked up a total of 11 goals this week from his selection of Ipswich, Manchester City and Salford City. Peter Porter drops down to second place as he picked up a total of 8 goals from the week. His teams are Barnsley, Celtic and Leicester City.
At the other end at 110 we now have TONY GUY (3) who becomes the eighth player to do so, Our two time Champion with his third selection, picked up a total of 6 goals this week. Tony has Arsenal, Celtic and Sheffield Wednesday.
Once again we had a brilliant weekend for goals and so there is a slight change in the top ten this weekend.
