Week Three

Here we are with Week Three of the competition and this weekend we had another full league fixture, which gave us our 3rd winner of the season. Our winner was KEITH RATTLE who won on a score of 15 goals which is our highest score so far in Season 42. Keith has picked up the £5 this weekend.

Keith started with Golden Goals back in the 2020/21 Season on where he finished in 101st place with 220 goals. Last season Keith finished in 91st place with 272 goals. This season with his personal best weekend score, gives him is very first weekend win. Rangers are his best team to date. His teams for this season are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

There was only a small change in the race for the 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot worth a total of £25 this week. 

Taking the lead after two weeks of football, we have DAVID BARRETT out in front with a total of 24 goals. In second place we have BARBARA BARNES (2) with 18 goals. In third place with 17 goals we have CHARLIE FARLEY (John Wood) In fourth place with 15 goals we now have GUY DOWSETT (1) and in fifth place down one, is GUY DOWSETT (2) with a total of 14 goals. 

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had another full weekend fixture and it’s a lot better than last weekend. We had just 2 teams with no game over the weekend with another 10 of our teams that failed to score any goals. So for our third weekend the average score went up to 7 goals. So if your combination picked up more than that, then you have done very well this weekend.

The Highest score over the weekend was 6 goals and they came from two of our teams. They are from the Scottish Premiership RANGERS  who won 6-0 at home against ROSS COUNTY and from the Premier League where CHELSEA won 6-2 away to Wolves.

PREMIER LEAGUE

The Premier League have played their second game of the season and last season’s champions MANCHESTER CITY are back on top after they picked up their biggest result of the season by winning 4-1 at home against IPSWICH TOWN. City are now on a total of 6 goals while Ipswich picked up their first goal of the season. MANCHESTER UNITED lost 2-1 away to Brighton and picked up their second goal of the season. WEST HAM picked up their first win of the season with a 2-0 away win against CRYSTAL PALACE. West Ham are on a total of 3 goals while Palace picked up their first blank score sheet. LEICESTER CITY lost 2-1 away to Fulham and are on a total of 2 goals. SOUTHAMPTON picked up their second blank score sheet after they lost 1-0 at home to Nottingham Forest. TOTTENHAM picked up their highest score to date after they won 4-0 at home to Everton. Tottenham are on a total of 5 goals. ASTON VILLA lost 2-0 at home to ARSENAL and picked up their 1st blank of the season. Arsenal are on a total of 4 goals. AFC BOURNEMOUTH drew 1-1 at home to NEWCASTLE and both teams have now picked up 2 goals in 2 games. CHELSEA won 6-2 away to Wolves and with their biggest result to date, and they picked up their first goals of the season. LIVERPOOL won 2-0 at home against Brentford and are on a total of 4 goals. 

CHAMPIONSHIP

MILLWALL drew 0-0 away to Hull and picked up their first blank of the season. OXFORD UNITED lost 2-1 away to Blackburn Rovers and are on a total of 7 goals. MIDDLESBROUGH drew 2-2 at home against PORTSMOUTH. Brough are on a total of 6 goals while Portsmouth, after they had failed to score in their previous 2 games, are now on a total of 5 goals. NORWICH CITY drew 1-1 at home to SHEFFIELD UNITED and are on 7 goals. United are on 9 goals. PRESTON NE won 1-0 at home to LUTON TOWN and are on 3 goals. Luton picked up their 2nd consecutive blank score sheet. BURNLEY picked up their first blank score sheet as they lost 1-0 away to Sunderland. SWANSEA CITY drew 1-1 at home against Cardiff. Swansea are on a total of 7 goals. 

LEAGUE ONE

HUDDERSFIELD are our highest team here still in 2nd place after they won their 3rd league game, 1-0 at home to Shrewsbury. Huddersfield are on a total of 8 goals. BARNSLEY drew 2-2 at home to Northampton and are on a total of 6 goals. BLACKPOOL picked up another four goals in their 4-4 draw away to Cambridge Utd. Blackpool are now on a total of 9 goals. CHARLTON picked up their biggest result of the season as they won 2-0 at home to BOLTON and are on a total of 4 goals while Bolton picked up their 2nd blank score sheet and now 2 in a row. PETERBOROUGH won 2-1 away to Exeter and are on a total of 6 goals. BIRMINGHAM won 2-1 away to Leyton Orient and are on a total of 7 goals. WREXHAM won 3-0 at home against Reading and are now on a total of 8 goals. 

LEAGUE TWO

BROMLEY lost their first league game 3-1 away to Bradford City.  Bromley are on a total of 6 goals. AFC WIMBLEDON won 1-0 away to Cheltenham and picked up gaol number 7. CHESTERFIELD drew 1-1 at home to Salford City are now on a total of 8 goals. DONCASTER ROVERS won 1-0 at home to Morecambe and are on 8 goals. After they had failed to score in their last two games, MK DONS picked up their biggest result to date as they win 3-0 at home against Carlisle Utd and have taken their goals total to 4. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

In the Premiership CELTIC have now had three wins in 3 games as they win 3-0 away to St Mirren. Celtic have taken their goals tally up to 12 goals. RANGERS are in 2nd place after they picked up their biggest win of the season 6-0 at home to ROSS COUNTY.  Rangers are now on a total of 10 goals while County picked up their 3rd blank score sheet and now two in a row. DUNDEE drew 2-2 away to Hibernian and are on a total of 31 goals and have extended their goal run to 8 league/cup games. HEARTS lost 3-1 away to Motherwell and are on a total of 2 goals. KILMARNOCK lost again 2-0 away to Aberdeen. Kilmarnock have now picked up four consecutive blank score sheets. 

In the Championship FALKIRK have won all 3 league games and are in second place after they won 2-1 at home against Partick Thistle. Falkirk have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games and are on a total of 19 goals. 

In League One STENHOUSEMUIR won 3-2 at home against COVE RANGERS. After they had failed to score in their last 2 games, Stenhousemuir are now on a total of 10 goals. Rangers are on a total of 8 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. 

In League Two, PETERHEAD are still top of the table after 4 games as they drew 0-0 away to The Spartans and picked up their 3rd blank of the season. CLYDE lost 2-1 away to Bonnyrigg Rose and are on a total of 11 goals. EAST FIFE won 4-0 away to Stirling and are now on a total of 18 goals and a goal run of 6 league/cup games.

Our WORST three teams are 

KILMARNOCK (0) SOUTHAMPTON (0) LUTON TOWN (1) Total of 1 goal 

Our best performing team is DUNDEE after they have now scored in all of their 8 league/cup games. They have a total of 31 goals which gives them an average score of 3.8 goals per game. 

Our worst performing team is KILMARNOCK this weekend after they picked up 4th blank score sheets in their first 4 games of the season. 

Our highest goal-scoring team in our 42nd Season are DUNDEE. They won 7-1 away to Bonnyrigg Rose in the Scottish League Cup in the very first game in the first round group stages.

DAVID BARRETT is at the top for his third weekend after picking up 6 goals from the weekend. David’s teams are Burnley, Dundee and Manchester City. He is now 12 goals clear of  GUY DOWSETT (2) with his teams of  Arsenal, Celtic, and East Fife.

At the other end at 114 we still have ANNE HAMMOND for the second week running. Anne picked up 7 goals this week. Anne’s teams are Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Tottenham.
