Week Thirty-Three

In Week Thirty-Three of the competition, there was no Weekend Jackpot which means that next weekend we will have our 5th Rollover of the season, worth £10. The highest score that we had over the weekend went to three of our players. They were RYAN FC, IAN SMITH and SCOTT THOMSON (2). Each with a score of 4 goals.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

With no games being played during midweek due to the Internationals, the race for the 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot has remained the same as last week’s.

RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 Champion remains at the top, with a total of 87 goals. Ricky has Bolton, Celtic and Leeds United. In second place we have JAMES BLYTH on a total of 86 goals. In third place we have GRANT PHILLIPS with a total of 81 goals. In fourth place we have BARBARA BARNES (2), CLARA STEPHENS and STEVE STUBBS (2). All are on a total of 80 goals. In fifth place we have BARRY BURROUGHS, MARTIN CORBETT and ALFIE DIMMOCK all with a total of 79 goals. In sixth place on 77 goals we have PETER WELLARD.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had just 16 of our teams in action over the weekend and out of them, we had 5 teams that failed to score any goals. We had a very quiet weekend from our teams which means that a lot of us have picked up yet another blank weekend score sheet. The highest score over the weekend was 3 goals, and we had 2 of our teams that picked them up. They came from Scottish League Two with Clyde and English League One PETERBOROUGH UNITED.

LEAGUE ONE

Birmingham City have remained top of the table this week after they had no game this weekend. WREXHAM are still in 2nd place after they won 1-0 at home to Stockport County and are on a total of 54 goals.

In the Play-offs we still have two of the 4 teams. In 4th place we still have CHARLTON after they lost 3-0 away to PETERBOROUGH UNITED. As Charlton pick up their 10th blank of the season, Borough are now on a total of 64 goals Huddersfield Town have remained in 6th place as they also had no game over the weekend.

Meanwhile  BARNSLEY drew 1-1 at home to Cambridge Utd and are on a total of 54 goals. BLACKPOOL won 2-0 away to Northampton Town and are on a total of 66 goals.

LEAGUE TWO

The highest team that we have here are still AFC WIMBLEDON in 3rd place. They drew 2-2 at home to Barrow and are on a total of 58 goals.

In the Play-offs we have two of the 4 teams. They are Doncaster Rovers down to 5th place after they had no game over the weekend. NOTTS COUNTY move down to 6th place after they drew 0-0 at home to Crewe and picked up their 9th blank of the season.  

Meanwhile BROMLEY lost 2-1 away to Carlisle Utd and picked up goal number 57 and have now scored in all of their last 5 league games. MK DONS won 1-0 away to Cheltenham Town and are on a total of 47 goals. CHESTERFIELD drew 0-0 at home to Harrogate Town and picked up their 10th blank of the season.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

In the Championship, it’s 80 goals for top of the table FALKIRK after they won 2-0 at home to Airdrie. Falkirk have now scored in all of their last 11 league/cup games.

In League One COVE RANGERS are still in 2nd place after they drew 0-0 at home to STENHOUSEMUIR who are still in 3rd place. After a goal run of 7 league games, Rangers picked up their 7th blank of the season. Stenhousemuir picked up their 15th blank and now 2 games without a goal.

In League Two PETERHEAD have moved to the top after they won 2-1 away to Stirling and are on a total of 57 goals. EAST FIFE have dropped down to 2nd place after they lost 5-2 away to Edinburgh City. Fife are on a total of 63 goals. CLYDE won 3-1 at home to Bonnyrigg Rose and have taken their goals total to 45.

Our BEST three teams this week are

Our WORST three teams are

  SOUTHAMPTON (34) LUTON TOWN (35) KILMARNOCK (35) Total of 104 goals

Our best performing team this weekend are still CELTIC after they have now scored in all of their last 14 league/cup games. They have a total of 115 goals, which gives them an average score of 3.1 goals per game.

Our worst performing team is still SWANSEA CITY this weekend as they have had a total of 17 blank score sheet from 40 league/cup games. They have a total of 41 goals.

Our highest goal scoring team that we have in our 42nd Season are MANCHESTER CITY after they won 8-0 at home to Salford City in the FA Cup 3rd Round in Week Twenty-Three.

Our leader CLARA STEPHENS celebrates her 2nd weekend at the top without any of her teams in action this week. Clara has Birmingham City, Celtic and Liverpool. So Clara remains in 41st place in our “Champions League”. Geoff Dockerill our 1994/95 Champion, in 2nd place is still 2 goals behind Carla, after he also had none of his teams in action over the week. Geoff’s teams are Arsenal, Celtic and Liverpool.

At the other end at 114 we have CHARLIE FARLEY with his 19th consecutive weekend. Charlie’s teams failed to pick him up any goals this weekend. His teams are Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir.

Not much happened over the weekend so the top ten remains near the same as last week
