100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Over half of us managed to pick up some more goals during midweek once again, so the race for the 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot has changed again from last week. Will anyone win the cash this season? We still have RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 Champion at the top, now with a total of 87 goals. Ricky has Bolton, Celtic and Leeds United. In second place we still have JAMES BLYTH now on a total of 86 goals. Coming straight in third place we have GRANT PHILLIPS with a total of 81 goals. In fourth place we still have CLARA STEPHENS but joining her this week we have BARBARA BARNES (2) down from three with STEVE STUBBS (2) coming back in. All are on a total of 80 goals. In fifth place we still have BARRY BURROUGHS and MARTIN CORBETT and joining them this week we have ALFIE DIMMOCK coming back in all with a total of 79 goals. WEEKEND RESULTS
We had just 4 of our teams without a game this weekend and we had another 12 teams that failed to score any goals. We had another very poor weekend from our teams with their results again. as the average score went up slightly, from three goals of last weekend to just 4 goals this weekend. So if you have done better than that? Well done. The highest score over the weekend was 5 goals, and they came from League One where HUDDERSFIELD TOWN picked up their biggest win of the season 5-1 at home to Crawley Town. Huddersfield are on a total of 57 goals.
Huddersfield became our 96th voted English team back in the 2001/02 Season. In their first season, they finished on a total of 68 goals. Their highest score came in the 2010/11 with 94 goals. Last time out in the 2022/23 Season, they finished on a total of 49 goals. This is their 9th Season with Golden Goals and they have picked up a total of 11 blank score sheets. Carabao/League Cup Final
We had both teams in the final where LIVERPOOL took on NEWCASTLE and lost 2-1 at Wembley. What a surprise that was. On the whole Newcastle deserved to win this cup for the very first time in their history. Newcastle are on a total of 67 goals while 10 time winners Liverpool, picked up their 88th goal of the season and have now had a goal run of 7 league/cup games.
PREMIER LEAGUE
Top of the table Liverpool had no league game this week due to the League Cup Final. ARSENAL are still in 2nd place as they win 1-0 at home to London rivals CHELSEA. Arsenal are on a total of 65 goals. Chelsea in 4th place, picked up their 6th blank of the season. WEST HAM UNITED drew 1-1 away to Everton and picked up goal number 64. IPSWICH TOWN lost 4-2 at home to Nottingham Forest and are on a total of 38 goals. MANCHESTER CITY drew 2-2 at home to Brighton and are on a total of 71 goals. Bottom of the table SOUTHAMPTON lost 2-1 at home to Wolves and are on a total of 34 goals. AFC BOURNEMOUTH lost 2-1 at home to Brentford and are on a total of 53 goals. TOTTENHAM lost 2-0 away to Fulham and picked up their 7th blank of the season. LEICESTER CITY lost 4-0 at home to MANCHESTER UNITED and picked up their 13th blank of the season. City have now failed to score in all of their last 5 league games. United are now on a total of 56 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 games.
CHAMPIONSHIP
LEEDS UNITED are still on top, but on goal difference, after they drew 2-2 away to QPR. Leeds are on a total on 77 goals. SHEFFIELD UNITED are still in 2nd place as they win 1-0 away to Sheffield Wednesday and are on a total of 57 goals and have now scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games.
In the Play-offs we still have just one of the 4 teams and they are BURNLEY still in 3rd place after they won 2-0 away to SWANSEA CITY. Burnley are now on a total of 58 goals. Swansea picked up their 17th blank of the season and now 2 in a row.
Meanwhile MILLWALL won 1-0 at home to Stoke City and are on a total of 44 goals. LUTON TOWN drew 0-0 at home to MIDDLESBROUGH and picked up their 15th blank of the season. Middlesbrough picked up their 11th blank of the season. OXFORD UNITED won 1-0 at home to Watford and hit goal number 42. PRESTON NE won 2-1 at home against PORTSMOUTH and are on a total of 52 goals. BIRMINGHAM CITY remain top of the table this week after they drew 1-1 away to Northampton and are on a total of 67 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. WREXHAM have moved up to 2nd place after they won 1-0 away to Wycombe and are on a total of 53 goals.
In the Play-offs we now have two of the 4 teams. In 4thplace we now have CHARLTON after they won 2-1 at home to Wigan and are on a total of 58 goals. After they had failed to score in their previous 2 games, Huddersfield Town have moved up to 6th place after their biggest win of the season.
Meanwhile BOLTON lost 1-0 at home to Stockport County and picked up their 11th blank of the season. BLACKPOOL lost 2-1 away to Leyton Orient and are on a total of 64 goals. PETERBOROUGH UNITED won 1-0 away to Cambridge Utd and are on a total of 61 goals. The highest team that we have here are AFC WIMBLEDON up to 3rd place after they won 2-1 away to Carlisle United. Wimbledon are on a total of 56 goals.

NOTTS COUNTY are still in 5th place after they lost 2-1 at home to CHESTERFIELD. County are on a total of 67 goals while Chesterfield are on 62 goals.
Meanwhile MK DONS lost 3-0 away to Port Vale and picked up their 15th blank of the season.

In the Premiership, Champions CELTIC lost their 3rd league game against their rivals RANGERS 3-2 at home. Celtic are on a total of 115 goals and have now scored in all of their last 14 league/cup games. Rangers are now on a total of 77 goals. HEARTS won 2-0 at home to ROSS COUNTY and are on a total of 51 goals and have now scored in all of their last 10 league/cup games. County picked up their 13th blank of the season. KILMARNOCK drew 1-1 at home against Hibernian and hit goal number 35. DUNDEE won 4-2 away to rivals Dundee Utd and have taken their goals tally up to 75 goals. Dundee have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games.
In the Championship, top of the table FALKIRK won 4-0 away to Queens Park and are on a total of 78 goals. Falkirk have now scored in all of their last 10 league/cup games.
In League One COVE RANGERS are now in 2nd place after they drew 2-2 away to Montrose and are now on a total of 59 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 7 league games. STENHOUSEMUIR move down to 3rd place after they drew 0-0 at home to Kelty Hearts. After a goal run of 6 games, Stenhousemuir picked up their 14thblank of the season.
In League Two EAST FIFE remained top after they lost 3-0 at home to Stranraer. Fife picked up their 8th blank of the season. PETERHEAD are still in 2nd place on goal difference after they won 2-0 at home to Edinburgh City and are on a total of 55 goals. CLYDE lost 2-0 away to Elgin City and picked up their 10th blank of the season.

Our worst performing team is now SWANSEA CITY this weekend as they have had a total of 17 blank score sheet from 41 league/cup games. They have a total of 41 goals.
Our highest goal scoring team that we have in our 42nd Season are MANCHESTER CITY after they won 8-0 at home to Salford City in the FA Cup 3rd Round in Week Twenty-Three.
We have a new leader this weekend who becomes the 7th player to do so. That player is CLARA STEPHENS who picked up a total of 6 goals from the week. Clara has Birmingham City, Celtic and Liverpool. But Clara remains in 41st place in our “Champions League”. Geoff Dockerill our 1994/95 Champion, moves down to second place 2 goals behind Carla, after his teams picked up a total of 4 goals from the weekend. Geoff’s teams are Arsenal, Celtic and Liverpool.
At the other end at 114 we have CHARLIE FARLEY with his 18th consecutive weekend. Charlie’s teams picked up just 2 goals from the week. His teams are Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir.
It's all change in our top ten this weekend and with the lack of games next weekend, these might remain the same.
