Week Fifteen

In Week Fifteen of the competition, we did not have any prize money this weekend due to the World Cup qualifying games. That means that next weekend we will have our third Rollover of the season worth another £10. It was CHARLIE FARLEY (John Wood) who picked up the most number of goals with 3. They came from Cove Rangers 2, East Fife 1 and Stenhousemuir 0.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Only one of us picked up some goals this week, which means that our top five are unchanged this week. In the lead this week we still have EMMAF with that total of 39 goals. Her teams are Ayr United, Brighton and Crewe. In second place we have DAVID BARRETT with a total of 36 goals. In third place we have SCOTT THOMSON (1) with a total of 35 goals. In fourth place we have HAYLEY ADKINS with a total of 34 goals. In fifth place, we have our joint 2023/24 Champion, JOHN FILTNESS with a total of 33 goals. In sixth place we have BARBARA BARNES (1) with 32 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had just 20 of our teams in action over the weekend, but 9 of them failed to score any goals. So there were no big results this weekend. So if you have managed to pick up the odd goal this weekend, you have done well.

Lets get on with the results to see how your teams have performed this weekend.

LEAGUE ONE

Top of the table Stockport County had no game this week. BLACKPOOL lost 1-0 away to Burton and picked up their 8th blank of the season. LEYTON ORIENT won 2-1 at home against Exeter and are on a total of 25 goals. LUTON TOWN drew 0-0 at home to Rotherham and they picked up their 5th  blank of the season. WYCOMBE WANDERERS, after a goal run of 12 games, picked up their 3rd blank of the season as they drew 0-0 away to Port Vale.

SWINDON TOWN are now top of the table after they drew 1-1 away to Fleetwood and are on a total of 30 goals. Bottom of the table COVE RANGERS won their 2nd league game 2-1 at home to Hamilton. Rangers are on a total of 16 goals.

In League Two, CLYDE drew 1-1 away to The Spartans and picked up goals number 29. DUMBARTON lost 2-0 away to Elgin City. After they had scored in all of their last 14 league/cup games, Dumbarton picked up their third blank of the season.

Our BEST three teams are

HEARTS (46) MK DONS (34) AYR UNITED (33)  Total of 113 goals

Our WORST three teams are

NOTTINGHAM FOREST (12) SHEFFIELD UNITED (12) ASTON VILLA (14)  Total of 38 goals

Our best performing team is still HEARTS, after they have now scored in all of their 17 league/cup games. With a total of 46 goals, their average score is 2.7 goals per game.

Our worst performing team is still NOTTINGHAM FOREST this weekend, as they have picked up 6 blank score sheets in their 12 league/cup games.

Our highest scoring team in our 43rd Season is ROSS COUNTY. They won 8-0 at home against Edinburgh City in the first round group stages of the Scottish League Cup in Week One.

DAVID BARRETT has remained in first place even after he had none of his teams in action over the week. David has now been top for 2 weeks and a total of 9 weeks over the season. David’s teams are Celtic, Hearts and Liverpool. Hayley Adkins remains in second place as she also had none of her teams in action over the week. Hayley is still 1 goal behind David and her teams are Hearts, Liverpool and Manchester City.

At the other end at 111 we have a new name to add to the list as ANNE HAMMOND makes her first appearance at the bottom. Anne now becomes our 5th player to stay there, only because she had no teams in action this week. Anne’s teams are Crystal Palace, Rangers and Wolves.

Well a very quiet week for us here at Golden Goals but here is our top ten for this week.
