WEEK TWENTY-SIX

We had a good week for goals from our teams although they did slow down at the weekend. Still Mike Adkins completed his second weekend at the top and is not that far away too start to climb up our Champions table. Mike picked up eleven goals this week from his combination of Arsenal, Man City and Rangers.
Paul Hudson has moved back into second place and is now just two goals behind Mike. Paul has in his combination Man City, Rangers and watford.
Rangers still have that 100% scoring record as they have now streached their total to twenty-six games, as they win 2-1 at home to Brechin at the weekend.
Leeds United picked up the highest score for Golden Goals as they win 5-1at home to Huddersfield. Picking up their biggest win of the season, Leeds are now on 46 goals.
Arsenal are back on top of the English Premiership as they beat Crystal Palce 2-0 at home. Arsenal are on a total of 54 goals while Palace picked up their 12th blank of the season. Liverpool picked up their 66th goal of the season as they drew 1-1 away to West brom. Everton won 2-1 at home to Aston Villa to take their goals total to 49 and Villa up to 31. Manchester United lost 2-1 away to Stoke and are now on 50 goals. This could be their lowest score ever for Manchester United with Golden Goals. Their lowest end of season goals total was just 61 goals back in our 1986/87 Season. Tottenham picked up goal number 38 as they drew 1-1 away to Hull.
The three best teams to date in Golden Goals are Man City wth 97 goals followed by Rangers on 82. Peterborough are third with 68 goals. Would you of picked them at the start of this season? No one in this seasons competition has. Leyton Orient are fourth also on 68 goals.
Crystal Palace look set in becoming our ever lowest end of season goals total. At the present time it is held by three of our past teams all on a total of just 36 goals. This record is held by Derby in 1987/88, Newcastle in the following season of 1988/89 and Wolves in our 2009/10 Season. Palace at the moment are on just 19 goals.
Last night we had the FA CUP Fourth Round replay for Sheffield United against Fulham. The good news is that we have another team through to the next round as United won in extra time 1-0. United are now on 36 goals. In League One, Bristol City picked up goal number 53 as they lost 2-1 at home to Coventry. Gillingham lost 3-1 away to Stevenage but picked up their 41st goal of the season.
