Capital One Cup Second Round Games

We have had twenty of our teams left in the Capital One Cup 2nd round games this week and out of them nine failed to make it through to the next round.
The biggest upset was when MANCHESTER UNITED were beaten 4-0 away to MK DONS. That was United’s first blank score sheet of the season while the Dons take their goals tally to 14 and they are now our best team of the season to date. Other teams through are FULHAM as they win 1-0 away to Brentford to pick up their 3rd goal of the season and DERBY are on 11 as they beat CHARLTON 1-0 at home. Charlton also picked up their first blank score sheet. NOTTINGHAM FOREST are now our second best team as they win 2-0 away to Huddersfield and are now on 13 goals. NORWICH pick up another three goals to give their goals total another boost as they win 3-1 at home to Crawley. Norwich are on a total of 10 goals in their last four games. CARDIFF are also on 10 goals as they win 3-2 away to Port Vale. READING beat SCUNTHORPE 1-0 away to give them a total of 8 goals while Scunthorpe picked up their 3rd blank score sheet of the season and they have scored just one goal in their last four games. CRYSTAL PALACE picked up their highest score of the season with a 3-0 away win over Walsall and a place in the next round. DONCASTER beat WATFORD 2-1 away to take their goals total to 9 goals while Watford have 11. SHEFFIELD UNITED drew 1-1 after extra time against West Ham away but then won 5-4 on penalties. After a two game dry spell for goals, LEYTON ORIENT beat Aston Villa 1-0 away. Orient are on 8 goals.
Teams that did not make it through to the third round are PRESTON who lost 3-1 away to Middlesbrough but they did pick up their 10th goal of the season. ROTHERHAM lost 1-0 away to Swansea to pick up their 3rd blank score sheet in six games played. LEEDS UNITED lost 3-1 away to Bradford to get their 5th goal of the season while QPR lost 1-0 away to Burton to pick up their 3rd blank score sheet. Rangers have still yet to score in this season after three games. PORTSMOUTH picked up their first blank score sheet as they lost 3-0 away to Stoke.
In the Scottish Communities League Cup 1st round, RANGERS beat Queens Park 2-1 away to take their goals tally to 9. In the 2nd round games, HEARTS beat STENHOUSEMUIR 2-1 away to give them a total of 10 goals while Stenhousemuir are on 9 goals. DUNFERMLINE is also on 9 goals but they lost 2-1 away to St Mirren.
So the race for the 100 Midweek Goals jackpot has changed this week with NICK GATES in front with a total of 15 goals while Mrs DEPP and MIKE HARRINGTON our 1997/87 Champion are both joint second with 14 goals.
