Week Sixteen

We are now back to a full league fixture this weekend but we had three teams that had no game and another eight teams that failed to pick up any goals for us. Not a high scoring weekend really but we did have a high score of four goals each from DUNFERMLINE and LEYTON ORIENT.
Dunfermline picked up another four goals as they win 4-0 at home to Stirling. Dunfermline are now on a total of 30 goals.
Leyton Orient picked up their highest score of the season as they win 4-1 at home to Crewe. Orient are now on 27 goals.
 
PREMIERSHIP
CHELSEA are still there as they win 2-0 at home to West Brom. Chelsea are now on 34 goals and seven points clear of second place Southampton. Chelsea are now the only team with a 100% scoring record with Golden Goals this weekend after a total of fourteen games. MANCHESTER CITY are third as they win 2-1 at home against Swansea and they are now on a total of 31 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED have moved up to fourth place as they win 2-1 away to ARSENAL who are now down to eighth place. United are now on a total of 19 goals which just moves them out of our worst team frame this weekend. Arsenal picked up goal number 21. EVERTON are on 22 goals as they beat West ham 2-1 at home. QPR picked up their 6th blank of the season as they lost 1-0 away to Newcastle while CRYSTAL PALACE are on a total of 22 goals as they win 3-1 at home against LIVERPOOL. Liverpool picked up goal number 19. TOTTENHAM won 2-1 away to Hull and take their goals tally to 21.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP
DERBY are top here as they win 2-1 away to WATFORD and that now gives them a total of 45 goals while Watford are on 33. CHARLTON drew 0-0 at home to London rivals Millwall and that was their 5th blank score sheet of the season. LEEDS picked up goal number 24 but lost 2-1 away to Blackburn. NORWICH have not had a big score for a while but they drew 3-3 at home against Brighton to give them a total of 31 goals this weekend. ROTHERHAM lost 1-0 at home to Birmingham and that was their 9th blank of the season and now four games without a goal. WIGAN are on 20 as they drew 1-1 at home to Middlesbrough. NOTTINGHAM FOREST won 3-0 away to WOLVES and that now gives them a total of 33 goals while Wolves picked up their 5th blank and now two games in a row.
 
LEAGUE ONE
BRISTOL CITY are still top in this league this weekend as they lost 1-0 at home to PRESTON in third place. City have now had a total of three blank score sheets and now two games in a row while Preston picked up goal number 36. MK DONS are fourth after the won 1-0 at home against Port Vale and that was their 44th goal of the season. It’s 32 goals for SHEFFIELD UNITED as they drew 1-1 at home to Oldham while COVENTRY won 1-0 away to Colchester to pick up goal number 23. BARNSLEY lost 2-1 away to Chesterfiled but picked up goal number 32. SCUNTHORPE drew 2-2 away to Crawley and are now on 24 goals while PETERBOROUGH are on 28 goals but they lost 2-1 at home to Swindon. DONCASTER have had a very good week for goals whith four in midweek they picked up another three goals in their 3-1 away win over Rochdale. Doncaster are now on 25 goals.
 
LEAGUE TWO
LUTON are down to third place this weekend as they lost 1-0 away to Burton to pick up their 5th blank score sheet of the season. BURY have moved down to 7th place as they lost 3-1 at home to Newport Co. Bury are on 32 goals. STEVENAGE lost 1-0 away to Northampton to pick up their 6th blank score sheet while PORTSMOUTH have had a funny week after going out of the FA Cup in midweek, they win 3-0 at home to Morecombe and are now on 24 goals.
 
SCOTTISH LEAGUES                                                                                                                       
In Scotland all but one team picked up some goals this weekend and the team that failed to score any goals was RANGERS.
After a run of eighteen games with goals, Rangers picked up their first blank score sheet of the season as they lost 2-0 away to HEARTS. Hearts are on 39 goals and they have scored in all of their last eight games. CELTIC are on 36 goals as they win 2-1 at home to Dundee. STENHOUSEMUIR are on 22 goals as they lost 3-1 away to Morton.

THE WORST THREE TEAMS ARE…  

QPR (11) ROTHERHAM (16) LIVERPOOL (19) Total of 46 goals.
 
QUEENS PARK RANGERS are still our worst team for this season. After a total of thirteen games, in which twelve are league games and a cup game, Rangers have now picked up just eleven goals and they have now had six blank score sheets.
 
MANCHESTER CITY  have picked up our highest score of  the season when they won their Capital One Cup third round tie against Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 at home.
 
PORTSMOUTH and ROTHERHAM  have both now picked up the most number of blank score sheets this season with a total of nine games each. 
 
We are following Manchester City record breaking end of season score of 137 goals from last season, In Week sixteen last season, City had no midweek game but at the weekend they picked up another six goals. Their goals tally has now risen to 41 goals after fourteen games played. They have had two blank score sheet’s and their highest score was seven goals against Norwich in the league.
This season they also had no midweek and at the weekend they could only pick up two goals against Swansea. So they are now on a total of 31 goals this weekend. They have still had two blank score sheet after fourteen games. They are now ten goals behind last seasons record run. They are away to Southampton this weekend.
