Week Thirty-Three

This weekends average score shot up from four goals from last weekend to 6 goals each. We had a ready good weekend for goals even though we had four teams that had no game and just five teams that failed to score any goals in their games.
The highest score of the weekend came from MK DONS and TOTTENHAM with four goals each. MK DONS are really doing well this season in League One. They won 4-1 at home to Notts Co and with their three goals in midweek, they are now on 90 goals and are back as our best team. Currently in fourth place in the league, the Dons are in their sixth season with Golden Goals and this is their second best score. Their highest score which they could beat is 105 back in our 2011/12 Season. Last season they finished on 76 goals. They have now netted a total of  506 goals which gives them an average of  84 goals per season to date.
TOTTENHAM won 4-3 at home to Leicester City and its their fourth time this season to net four goals in a match. Spurs are now on a total of 67 goals. Spurs are in their 31st Season with us and they started in our very first season in 1983/84 and finished on 71 goals. They are our 11th voted English team back then. Their highest score is 109 scored back in our 1986/87 Season and last season they ended on 62. They have now scored a total of 2,233 goals in all the years and that now gives them an average of 72 goals per season to date.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In Scotland all of our teams managed to play again this weekend. CELTIC won 3-0 at home to Dundee Utd and after beating them 4-0 in the cup in midweek, Celtic are now on 83 goals. THE WORST THREE TEAMS ARE…

QPR (31) WIGAN (36) STENHOUSEMUIR (37) Total of 104 goals.

QPR are still our worst team this weekend even though they picked up another goal at the weekend. Rangers have played a total of 32 games and they have picked up a total of eleven blank score sheets to date.

We have just one team that have picked up the highest number of blank score sheets to date. They are WIGAN and they have picked up a total of 16 blank score sheets after a total of 41 games to date.

HEARTS have picked up the highest score for this season with a 10-0 home win against Cowdenbeath in the league.

Manchester City had that record breaking end of season score of 137 goals last season. In Week thirty-three last season, City had no game in midweek again and they picked up five goals at the weekend. That was their 111th of the season after thirty-nine games played. They have had four blank score sheet’s and their highest score was seven goals against Norwich in the league.
This season they had no game in midweek but at the weekend they picked up three goals. So City are now on a total of 71 goals this weekend and they have had a total of five blank score sheet after thirty-three games played. They are now 40 goals behind last seasons record run. They have no game this week.

We have some good news for “ZIGGY” John Woods at number 106 and that is that’s his second combination has already started to move up our losers league. Last weekend John beat our 1995/96 loser R.U.Shaw, a pub team that finished rock bottom that season with only 146 goals. This weekend John has beaten the next lowest score of 154 by R. Lloyd in our 1993/94 season. John’s combination contains Rangers, Scunthorpe and Stenhousemuir. With this combination John has picked up four blank score sheets at the weekend and he has now been at the bottom for two weeks.

Here is how the top ten looks this week and as you can see that there are three of our five winners this weekend.
