Week Twenty-Four

RICHARD WILLIAMS moves back to the top this weekend as his combination picks him up a total of nine goals all scored at the weekend. They came from Hibernian 1, Manchester City 4 and rangers 4. Richard has now been top for a total of four weeks out of the twenty-four weeks played. He was top for three consecutive weeks from week fourteen to sixteen. He is now just one goal in front of last weekends leader LAURIE KING. Laurie was top for seven weekends but his combination only picked him up seven goals for the week.  His teams are Arsenal, Peterborough  and Rangers.

At the other end, it’s still JOHN NICHOLLS now in his twenty-third weekend at number 119 as his combination picked him up ten goals for the week. His teams are Arsenal, Bolton and  Newcastle.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Only four players failed to pick up any goals this week which was a big surprise that we only had one more player to get to the half way stage to that lovely £40 Cash Jackpot for this season. We now have a total of eleven players to have now score 50 or more midweek goals.
The highest score this week was a total of eleven goals and they all went to JOHN WOOD and that takes his midweek  total to 47 goals. John picked them up from Arsenal and Burnley. His third team is Manchester City.
Still out in front this week is DANIEL GOODSON with a total of 57 goals with a single goal from Middlesbrough. In second place all on 56 goals we have CRAIG EVANS who remains in second place this week with JAMES HUNTER and TONY KING who both move up from three last week. In third place we have JOHN DAVIES up from five and NATHAN TREADWELL up from six. Both are now on 54 goals. Still in fourth place on 53 goals we have TOM MACDONALD. In joint fifth place we have JAMES WISE still at five with RICHARD WILLIAMS down from four. Both have a total of 52 goals. In sixth place back in the running with 51 goals is DAVID STAINS. In seventh place drown from six is BARBARA BARNES (2) on 50 goals.

We had our 29th winner of the season this weekend and they won on this seasons highest score of 14 goals. Our winner picks up the full amount of £5 and it goes to MARK HOWARD.
We would like to welcome Mark to Golden Goals as this is his very first season with us. Although we can see Mark in 32nd place this weekend, Mark has been right at the top in week two for one weekend. His lowest position is 55 in week fourteen. He has picked up only one blank score sheet and his best team is Manchester City who have picked up 60 goals for him. His teams are

HEARTS 6, MANCHESTER CITY 4, SWINDON 4

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had another great weekend results from our Golden Goals teams. Our average score went up one to five which is a real shock when you see the results we had. The reason could be that we had twenty-two of our teams that either had no game or failed to score over the weekend.
The highest score that we had this weekend came from two of our teams. From the English Championship we had HULL who picked up their highest score of the season by winning 6-0 at home to CHARLTON. Hull have five votes and they are now on a total of 51 goals. Charlton picked up their 13th blank and now two games in a row. HEARTS was the other team to pick up their highest score, from the Scottish Premiership, where they beat Motherwell 6-0 at home. Hearts have four votes and they are now on 53 goals.
