LAURIE KING is now in his seventh weekend at the top as his teams picked
him up a total of ten goals all coming from the weekend. All of his combination
teams scored from Arsenal 3, Peterborough 2
and Rangers 5. Laurie is now just one goals clear of RICHARD WILLIAMS who picked up a total
of eleven goals from his combination this week.
At the other end, it’s still JOHN NICHOLLS now in his twenty-second
weekend at number 119 as his combination picked him up four goals all coming
from the weekend his combination picked him up three goals from Arsenal and one
from Bolton. His teams are Arsenal, Bolton and Newcastle.
Quite a few
of us managed to pick up some more goals again this week but the highest score
this week was a total of four goals and they went to CHRIS BOLBERY and BRADLEY HAYES. Chris picked them up from Manchester City and Wigan. His
third team is Celtic. Bradley received his from Liverpool and Manchester City.
His third team is West Ham.
We now have
a total of ten players that are now on or over the half way mark for the cash
prize money of £40. But we do have a clear leader again this week with DANIEL GOODSON out in front with a
total of 56 goals with a single goal from Manchester City. CRAIG EVANS remains in second place this week with a total of 55
goals. In joint third place both on 53 goals we have TONY KING while up from fourth place to join him is JAMES HUNTER. In fourth place we have
both from last weeks fifth place TOM
MACDONALD and RICHARD WILLIAMS on 52
goals. In fifth place up from six is
JAMES WISE and back in the running JOHN DAVIES both on 51 goals. In sixth
place this week both on 50 goals we have BARBARA
BARNES (2) and NATHAN TREADWELL.

years and his first season in 2000/01, Bob finished in 97th place
out of 102 on a total of 221 goals. In the following nine seasons he finished in
the winning frame and his best was in our 2012/13 Season where he finished in
second place on 312 goals and picked up £50 in winnings. Last season Bob
finished in 31st place on 269 goals.
This season he has had just two blank score sheets at the
weekend and 49th is his lowest position so far. Rangers is his best
team. His combination is
ARSENAL 3, MANCHESTER CITY 3, RANGERS 5
We had a
great start to the New Year from our Golden Goals teams although the
average score fell down one from five of last weekend to 4 goals this weekend.
The reason is simple and that is that we had eight of our teams that had no
game over the weekend, with another twelve teams that failed to score.
The highest
score that we had this weekend came from the English League One where CHESTERFIELD picked up their highest
score of the season by winning 7-1 at home to Shrewsbury. Now Chesterfield have
not be doing well here as they have only scored two goals in their last eight
games. The seven goals takes them up to a total of 39 goals and they have just
one vote this season.
We had a total of 32 of our Golden Goals teams in action in this round and out of them 13
have made it through to the next round of the cup. We have another seven teams in
replays which do not include the EXETER and LIVERPOOL replay. So
that leaves 12 of our teams that have been kicked out of the cup.
There was no big results or shock wins from any of our teams.
But we did have a couple of premiership teams that picked up the highest score
with three goals.
They are ARSENAL who won 3-1 at home against
Sunderland to give Arsenal a total of 39 goals. MANCHESTER CITY won
3-0 away to NORWICH. City are on 56 goals while Norwich picked up their
6th blank of the season. So that’s two of our teams through and now,
here are the rest.
EVERTON are through as they win 2-0 at
home to Redbridge and are now our sixth team to net 50 goals. DERBY are
on 40 goals as they win 2-1 away to Hartlepool. HULL beat BRIGHTON
1-0 at home to pick up their 43rd goal while Brighton have now
failed to score in their last five games and now eight over the season. LEEDS
are through after they beat Rotherham 2-0 at home. Leeds are now on 29
goals. MANCHESTER UNITED could only beat SHEFFIELD UNITED
1-0 at home to get goal number 28 while Sheffield picked up their 5th
blank of the season. BURNLEY join the pack as they win 2-1 away to MIDDLESBROUGH.
Burnley are on 36 goals while Brough are on 45. NOTTINGHAM FOREST
picked up their 29th goal as they beat QPR 1-0 at home.
Rangers picked up their 9th blank of the season.
PETERBOROUGH
are on 62 goals now as
they beat PRESTON 2-0 at home. Preston picked up their 9th
blank of the season. WATFORD knocked out NEWCASTLE with a 1-0
home win to give them a total of 26 while Newcastle picked up their fourth blank
score sheet in a row to take their total to twelve without a goal. WEST HAM
beat WOLVES 1-0 at home to give them their 32nd goal and
Wolves their 8th blank score sheet. CHELSEA beat SCUNTHORPE
2-0 at home to take their goals tally to 33 while Scunthorpe picked up their 9th
blank score sheet.
In replays we have BOLTON who nearly went out to
non-league team Eastleigh but managed to draw 1-1 with just three minutes to go
of the game. That was Bolton's 20th goal of the season. IPSWICH drew
2-2 at home to POTSMOUTH to give them 42 goals and Portsmouth 52. MK
DONS drew 2-2 away to Northampton and that gave them a total of 27 goals. BRISTOL
CITY are on 25 goals after a two game dry spell as they drew 2-2 away to
West Brom. WYCOMBE drew 1-1 at home to Aston Villa and are now on 39
goals while TOTTENHAM are on 37 goals as they drew 2-2 at home to
Leicester City.
Teams that are also out are BRENTFORD who lost 1-0 at
home to Walsall to get their 7th blank of the season. CHARLTON
follow as they lost 2-1 away to Colchester to pick up their 31st
goal of the season. CARDIFF lost 1-0 at home to Shrewsbury to pick up
their 8th blank score sheet.
We had six of our teams in action here with PORT VALE winning 1-0 away to BLACKPOOL. That gives Port vale their 34th goal of the season while Blackpool picked up their 13th
blank and now two games in a row. MILLWALL
are on 43 goals as they win 2-1 away to Oldham while CHESTERFIELD won 3-2 away to Rochdale and that gives them a total
of 42 goals. That’s now ten goals in two games for Chesterfield. SWINDON are on 39 goals this week as
they win 4-2 at home to SOUTHEND after
going two goals down in fifteen minutes of the first half. Southend after a two
game dry spell for goals, are now on 34.
STEVENAGE was the only team to play here and they
lost 2-1 away to Mansfield but picked up goal number 39.

home to ABERDEEN. Hearts are now on
47 goals while Aberdeen picked up their 4th blank score sheet and
now two in a row. HIBERNIAN beat Raith
2-0 away to go through and that now gives them a total of 44 goals. QUEEN
OF SOUTH go out as they lost 2-1
away to Dumbarton. Queen of South are now on 25 goals. BERWICK are also out as they lost 1-0 away to East Fife. Berwick
have now had five blank score sheets to date.
RANGERS (72)
PETERBOROUGH (62) MANCHESTER CITY (56) Total of 190 goals
OUR WORST THREE TEAMS ARE
BOLTON (20) BLACKPOOL (21) NEWCASTLE (23) Total of 64 goals
Our worst
team this week is still BOLTON They have had a total of fourteen blank score sheets out of twenty-seven
games played. They have now scored two
goals in their last four games.
Our Best
team this weekend is still RANGERS after scoring in
all of their twenty-three League/Cup games played keeping their 100% scoring
record in-tacked. They are on a total of 72 goals after they picked up a total

The highest
scoring teams in our 33rd Season is CHESTERFIELD
