LAURIE KING is now in his sixth weekend at the top at the start of 2016.
Laurie picked up six goals in midweek from Arsenal two and four from Rangers. At
the weekend he picked up ten goals from his combination of Arsenal ,
Peterborough and Rangers. Laurie is just
two goals clear of RICHARD WILLIAMS
and DANIEL GOODSON both on 162
goals.
At the other end, it’s still JOHN NICHOLLS now in his twenty-first
weekend at number 119 as his combination picked him up three goals in midweek
from Arsenal and Bolton while at the weekend his combination picked him up just
one goals from Arsenal. His teams are Arsenal, Bolton and Newcastle.
All but a
few of us managed to pick up some more goals again this week but the highest score
this week was a total of ten goals and they all went to DANNY HARRINGTON from Arsenal 2, Millwall and
Rangers four goals each.
So at the start
of the New Year here at Golden Goals we have a total of
seven players that are now on or over the half way mark for the cash prize
money of £40. But we do have a clear leader again this week with
DANIEL GOODSON out in front with a
total of 55 goals. CRAIG EVANS moves
down to second place this week with a total of 54 goals. Down from
two to third place on 53 goals we have TONY
KING while in fourth place down from two is now JAMES HUNTER on a total of 52 goals. In fifth place we have both
from last weeks second place TOM MACDONALD and RICHARD WILLIAMS both on 51 goals. In sixth
place down from three is JAMES WISE on
50 goals.
What a great way to start the New Year by having five winners
this weekend to share a part of the cash of £5. Two of them have picked up their third win of
the season while the other three picked up their very first win of the season
which now brings our winners total to twenty-seven. Our three time winners are
our 2001/02 Champion LAURIE KING and DANIEL GOODSON.
Laurie is not only top again this weekend but
he has now picked up £21 in winnings to date. He has also had just the one blank
weekend score sheet from week one. Best team, as with most of the other weekend
winners this weekend is Rangers. A good week for Laurie as he has picked up a
total of sixteen goals for the week.
Daniel has also been in that top spot for six
weeks running from week eight to thirteen. Daniel has picked up four blank
score sheets and Rangers is his best team.

place out of 106 on 206 goals. Last season Mick finished in 104th
place on 206 goals. This season he started off on top but has since then
slipped down to 58th. He has picked up seventeen goals this week to
put him back in the winning frame with his biggest score of the season.Mick has
had three blank score sheets over the season to date and his best team is
Rangers.
JAMIE WOOD is in his very first season with Golden Goals and I would
like to thank him on joining in the fun. Jamie has never gone beyond 8th

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had a
great start to the New Year from our Golden Goals teams although the average
score fell down one from five of last weekend to 4 goals this weekend. The
reason is simple and that is that we had eight of our teams that had no game
over the weekend, with another twelve teams that failed to score.
The highest
score that we had this weekend came from the English League One where CHESTERFIELD picked up their highest
score of the season by winning 7-1 at home to Shrewsbury. Now Chesterfield have
not be doing well here as they have only scored two goals in their last eight
games. The seven goals takes them up to a total of 39 goals and they have just
one vote this season.
Chesterfield
are our 57th votes team in with Golden Goals and their first season
was in our 1986/87 Season finishing on a total of 58 goals. Their highest score
was in our 2000/01 Season with 84 goals. Last time out was back in 2008/09
Season and they finished on 68 goals. This is their 6th season with
us and they have scored a total of 375 goals to date over the years. That now
gives them a average score of 62 goals per season to date.
After the Boxing Day games and this weekend ARSENAL have
moved above Leicester City as they win 1-0 at home to NEWCASTLE. Arsenal
are now on a total of 36 goals while Newcastle picked up their third blank
score sheet in a row and now they have had a total of eleven after twenty-two
games played. MANCHESTER CITY are third still as they win 2-1 away to WATFORD.
City are our fourth best team with 52 goals while Watford hit goal number 25.
TOTTENHAM are still fourth after they drew
1-1 away to EVERTON. Tottenham are on 35 goals while Everton are on 46. MANCHESTER
UNITED are up to fifth place as they win 2-1 at home to Swansea. United are
now on 27 goals after a two game dry spell for goals. WEST HAM are now
on 31 goals as they beat LIVERPOOL 2-0 at home. Liverpool picked up
their 6th blank of the season. CHELSEA won their sixth league game of
the season as they win 3-0 away to Crystal Palace. Chelsea are now on 31 goals.
