The most popular selection for any combination was Celtic, Manchester City and Newcastle and that was first taken by Matt Doran on the very first day that the entry forms went out.
We have a total of fourteen past Champions playing this season. Our last season Champion is also back and that was Richard Williams. Richard has kept his winning combination from last season of Hibernian, Manchester City and Rangers to try and retain his title.
We also have another record broken this season and that is that we have a total of twenty ladies playing this season.
So how did the voting of teams for this season finally end up. Well CELTIC have picked up the most number of votes as they came in with a total of 69. Last season they had a total of 64 and scored a total of 108 goals. So this was no surprise that they would be one of the most voted teams this season. Staying with the Scottish teams the second highest voted team comes from the Scottish Premiership again and they are the newly promoted RANGERS with just 31 votes which is higher than last seasons 21. The Scottish teams did well again this season with nine teams being picked. We have five from the Scottish Premiership, two from the Championship and two from League One.With the English teams things have changed as they always do in this competition. We have a total of twelve Premiership teams in this years competition with MANCHESTER CITY becoming our top team again this season with 50 votes, two less than last season. Next comes NEWCASTLE with 42 votes compared to just one last season. In third place with 26 votes is MANCHESTER UNITED. They were our fifth most voted team last season with just 17 votes. I was expecting them to pick up more votes but could it be that the number of goals they scored last season was just 66. In fourth place down from two last season is ARSENAL. They have just 16 votes compared to 35 last season. Our fifth team is CHELSEA with just 15 votes. They were our third most voted team last season with 24 votes but they only scored 76 goals. In the Championship we have picked up 12 teams compared to 17 last season, while in League one we have 13 with 8 teams picked from League two.
So to Week One in our very first weekend of the new season we are already starting to pay out the prize money. This weekend we have produced our very fisrt weekend winner, and that means that the first £6 weekend prize money goes to TOM BAXTER who picks up this weekends highest score of just 9 goals from his combination as all three of his teams played. Tom is in his very first season with Golden Goals just one of our new twenty-six new players this season. We wish them all the best but here are Tom’s teams
HIBERNIAN 2, NORWICH 4, PETERBOROUGH 3

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
Now you might know that the Scottish have already played their first round of the League Cup and with the new group format, most of our teams have already played more than four games this weekend. But here is the results of the first league games.
In the Scottish Premiership, CELTIC are our highest team here in third place as they win 2-1 away to Hearts. RANGERS drew their first league game 1-1 at home to Hamilton but with the cup goals, they are now on 11 goals and a 100% scoring record to the new season after five games played. KILMARNOCK lost 2-1 at home to Motherwell but that was their 6th goal. ABERDEEN drew their first game of the season 0-0 away to ST JOHNSTONE. Meanwhile HIBERNIAN won 2-1 away to FALKIRK in the Championship and in League One, PETERHEAD picked up their first blank of the season as they lost 4-0 away to Alloa while STENHOUSEMUIR picked up their third goal of the season as they lost 2-1 away to Brechin.
As you can see that most of us have picked some goals in our first week of football but JACQUI WILLIAMS is out in front by two goals with her combination of Falkirk, Hibernian and Rangers.
