Week Eleven

It’s Week Eleven and we had our third Rollover for £12 this season and it was won on a total of 9 goals.  The cash went to our third lady winner of our 34th Season JUNE TIGHE who now becomes our 13th player to win some cash. June is in her very first season with Golden Goals and we would like to welcome her to the competition. The nine goals has shot June up into the winning frame for the first time this season. June has had just one blank weekend score sheet to date and her best team is Celtic netting 33 of her total of 81. Her teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT 
Just thirty-two of us managed to pick up some more goals for midweek but it has not had any effect on the race to the cash. But we must congratulate DAVID SMITHERS this week as he takes his midweek goals total to the half way mark with 50 goals. David still leads the way with the single goal from Rangers. His other teams are Chelsea and Newcastle. Still in second place but now on 47 goals we have CHRIS SETFORD. In third place is still MANGO now on a total of 45 goals. In fourth place both now on 44 goals we have TONY GUY (2) and TONY KING. In fifth place now on 43 goals we still have PETER GASPARELLI. We have three players in sixth place and they are ANDY EYLES,  JOHN FILTNES, and DOUG MORBEY. All are now on a total of 42 goals. DARYL NICHOLLS moves down to seventh place still on 41 goals. 

WEEKEND RESULTS 
This weekend the average score was just 4 goals even though we had quite a few teams that did very well for us over the weekend. Out of our fifty-four teams that we have in season 34, we had a four teams that  had no game over the weekend and another ten teams that failed to net any goals.
The highest score over the weekend was six goals and they came from the English Premiership where BOURNEMOUTH won 6-1 at home to Hull. With their highest result of the season, Bournemouth are now on a total of 16 goals.
Bournemouth are our 67th voted English team in Golden Goals and they first appeared in our fifth season in 1987/88 where they finished on a score of 63 goals. In the 2002/03 Season they finished on their highest score of 79 goals and last time out in our 2013/14 Season they finished on a total of 72 goals. Bournemouth are in their 9th Season with us and over the seasons they have now netted a total of 544 goals which gives them an average score of 60 goals per season. they have just one vote this season. 

PREMIERSHIP
After a 1-1 draw with EVERTON, MANCHESTER CITY stay top on goal difference with Arsenal. City went a goal down to come back to collect their 21st goal of the season. Everton picked up their 16thARSENAL moved up to second place after they won 3-2 at home to Swansea and that gives them a total of 23 goals. TOTTENHAM move down to third place as they drew 1-1 away to West Brom. Liverpool remained in fourth place as they had no game while CHELSEA have moved up to fifth place as they win 3-0 at home to LEICESTER CITY. As Chelsea take their goals total to 22, Leicester picked up their third blank score sheet and now two in a row. WEST HAM win their second league game of the season out of eight games played with a 1-0 away win over fellow London rivals Crystal Palace. West Ham have now moved up to 15th place. SOUTHAMPTON have picked up another three goals in their 3-1 home win against Burnley. Southampton are now on a total of 12 goals. 

CHAMPIONSHIP
NORWICH have moved up into the top position here as they win 3-1 at home to Rotherham.Norwich have now scored in all of their last eight games and they are now on 32 goals with eleven goals coming from their last four games. In second place is NEWCASTLE who won 3-1 at home to BRENTFORD. Newcastle are on 29 goals while Brentford picked up goal number 19. BRIGHTON are in fourth place and on 25 goals as they drew 2-2 at home to PRESTON. Preston are now on 20 goals. It’s 20 goals for QUEENS PARK RANGERS as they drew 1-1 at home to Reading. LEEDS picked up their fourth blank of the season as they lost 1-0 away to DERBY who picked up their 9th goal. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY are now on 15 goals as they win 1-0 away to Huddersfield. ASTON VILLA drew 1-1 at home to WOLVES which gave Villa a total of 12 goals and Wolves 20. 

LEAGUE ONE
We still have  three of  the six top teams here with SCUNTHORPE still on top after they won 2-1 at home to MK DONS after going a goal down before half time. The two goals now gives them a total of  32 goals while the Dons are now on 21. BRADFORD remained in second place after they lost 1-0 away to Oxford to pick up their fourth blank of the season. SHEFFIELD UNITED have moved up to fifth place after they won 4-0 at home to PORT VALE. After their biggest win of the season, United are now on a total of 19 goals and they have now scored in all of their last nine games. Port Vale picked up their fourth blank score sheet and now just one goal in their last three games. OLDHAM have now picked up a total of nine blank score sheets after they lost 1-0 away to Bolton. BRISTOL ROVERS are now on 21 goals as they win 2-1 at home to GILLINGHAM who are now on 24 goals. CHARLTON have not had a big score line for a while but they won 3-0 at home to Coventry. Charlton are on a total of 15 goals. PETERBOROUGH lost 2-0 away to Fleetwood and that was their third blank of the season. MILLWALL have now scored in all of their fourteen games played this season after they won 3-1 away to Northampton and that now takes their goals tally to 26. SOUTHEND are now on 14 goals as they win 1-0 against Chesterfield at home. WALSALL won 3-2 at home to Shrewsbury and they are now on 16 goals. 

LEAGUE TWO
We now have five of the top seven teams here in this league this weekend with PLYMOUTH still top as they drew 2-2 at home to PORTSMOUTH who are now down to fifth place. Plymouth are now on a total of 21 goals and they have now scored in all of their last eleven games. Portsmouth are on 23. DONCASTER have remained in second place after they win 1-0 at home to COLCHESTER which keeps their 100% scoring record in tact. Doncaster are now on a tally of 27 goals after fourteen games played. Colchester picked up their fifth blank score sheet and now three games in a row without a goal. LUTON have moved back up to fourth place after they win 2-1 away to LEYTON ORIENT. Luton have taken their goals tally to 26 goals while Orient are on 15 goals after a three game dry spell for goals. ACCRINGTON STANLEY have moved into seventh place after they won 2-1 at home to Blackpool. Accrington are now on a total of 19 goals. YEOVIL are on a total of 15 goals as they win 1-0 at home to Newport. 

SCOTTISH RESULTS 
In the Premiership CELTIC are still top here after they won 2-0 at home to Motherwell. Celtic still with a 100% goal scoring record are now on a total of 33 goals. ABERDEEN are still in second place after they picked up another four goals in their 4-0 home win over Ross County. Aberdeen take their goals tally to 20. Rangers are now in fourth place after their  win on Friday night with St JOHNSTONE in fifth as they lost 1-0 at home to KILMARNOCK. Johnstone have now had a total of three blank score sheets while Kilmaronock picked up their 14th goal of the season. In the Championship it’s 18 goals for FALKIRK as they win 2-1 at home to Dunfermline. HIBERNIAN picked up their second blank score sheet of the season as they drew 0-0 away to Raith and they are still top.
In the lower leagues, PETERHEAD won 3-1 away to Airdrie and that puts them on a total of 19 goals while STENHOUSEMUIR lost 5-0 at home to Stranraerto pick up blank number four for them.

Our Best team is CELTIC after they have scored in all of their ten League and Cup games played and netting a total of 33 goals which still gives them an average score of three goals per game.

Our worst teams is  OLDHAM  this weekend as they have picked up a total of nine blank score sheets out of fifteen games played.

Our highest goal scorers in our 34th Season are now BOURNEMOUTH  after their 6-1 home win against Hull in the league in week eleven.  CELTIC with their 6-1 home League win against Kilmarnock from week eight. NEWCASTLE winning
6-0 away to Q. P. R in the league in week seven and  NORWICH by winning 6-1 at home to Coventry in the EFL League Cup Second Round in week four.

GRANT PHILLIPS is now in his third weekend at the top as his combination of teams picked him up a total of eight goals all coming from the weekend. They came from Celtic two, Newcastle  and Norwich three goals each. Grant has now extended his lead to six goals. 
At the other end at 136 we still have EMMA SAWYER and that is now three weekends in a row. Emma picked up just three goals at the weekend and they came from Charlton. Hibernian, and Leicester City failed to score at the weekend. Emma is now three goals behind Sandra Nicholls at 135.
