It’s Week Nine and we had our biggest number
of players to win at the weekend in Season 34 with a total of six players. That
means that we have now had a total of twelve winners to date and our first
player to pick up their second win of the season. All six winners have had a
share of the £6 cash prize money which
gives them £1 each. So our six winners are
JASON COOPER, TONY KING, DOUG MORBEY, JOHN
NICHOLLS, RAYMOND PYNE and KEITH THOMSON.
Jason is in his very first season with us and he has spent most of
the season on the third page. This is his personal best this weekend and he has
only picked up one blank score sheet. His highest position is 53 from week one. Tony has been with Golden Goals for a very
long time. He was in second place in the first two weeks and then fell out of
the winning frame to come back in this weekend . He has also had just one blank
score sheet. Doug is another
life long serving player and his best position was sixteen in week four. Doug
has also had just one blank score sheet. John has also been with us for a while now and his highest
position is fifty-five in week two. He has so far scored in every weekend to
date. Raymond has come back
to the competition this season and we thank him for that. Ray has been as high
as 18th place in week two and has fallen all the way down to 102.
Ray has picked up two blank score sheets to date. Keith has picked up his second win of the season
although he also had to share his first in week two. Keith has had one blank
score sheet and sixth is his highest to date.

The highest
number of goals to be picked up over midweek was 8 goals and they all went to STEVEN CADWELL. Steve has
now taken his midweek goals total to 31. His goals came from Brentford and
Newcastle with four goals each while his third team Celtic had no game. So the
most of us did manage to pick up some goals this week and the race to the cash
has changed once again.
DAVID SMITHERS lead had now been cut
to three goals and nearly already half way to the target as he is now on a
total of 49 goals. In second place on 46 goals we still have CHRIS SETFORD. In third place is still MANGO now on a total of 44 goals. In
fourth place both on 43 goals we have TONY

GASPARELLI. We have four players in sixth place and they are DOUG MORBEY down from two, JOHN FILTNESS down from three with DARYL NICHOLLS and ANDY EYLES both moving down from five last week. All are now on a
total of 41 goals.
WEEKEND
RESULTS
The average
score for this weekend fell from eight of last weekend to just 3 goals this
weekend. The reason for this is that although we all once again all picked up
some goals it was not a very high scoring weekend. Out of our
fifty-four teams that we have this season, only one team had no game and thirteen
had a blank score sheet.
The highest
score over the weekend was four goals and we had two teams that picked them up
but they only have a vote each this season.
Also they both scored their biggest result this season to date. PLYMOUTH are one of them as they won
4-1 at home to YEOVIL in League Two to stay top. Plymouth had
failed to score in their first three games and so they have now scored in all
of their last nine games. They are now on a total of 17 goals. Yeovil picked up
goal number thirteen. ABERDEEN from the Scottish Premiership won 4-0 away to KILMARNOCK and that has kept them in
second place in the league. Aberdeen are now on 16 goals with ten of them
coming from their last four games. Kilmarnock picked up their fourth blank score
sheet of the season.

alive after eight games. ARSENAL have moved up to third place as they

their 10th goal of the season. CHELSEA have moved up to
seventh place after they won 2-0 away to Hull. After their first blank score sheet last

season. It’s still going all wrong for WEST HAM after going a goal down
they drew 1-1 at home to Middlesbrough. West Ham are now on 9 goals and third
from bottom.
