Week Eleven

In Week eleven of the competition we had our second Rollover of our 35th Season worth £12 and that was won on our highest score of the season with 17 goals. It was CHRIS BOOM who picked up that fantastic score but he was just two goals sort of picking up the Beat the Score Jackpot of another £65 cash. Chris also becomes the first player to win twice this season as he had to share the cash in week seven. So a great season for Chris already as he picks up his highest score and his highest position of the season.
Chris started with Golden Goals back in our 2008/09 Season on where he finished in 31st place on 262 goals. Last season he finished in 90th place on 270 goals. His best team for this season is Peterhead scoring 32 of his total of 93 goals.

CELTIC 1, MANCHESTER CITY 7, PETERHEAD 9

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Only twelve of us managed to pick up any midweek goals but it was ZIGGY (John Wood) that picked up the highest amount of goals with four. They came from Rangers 3 and Stenhousemuir 1 taking his midweek total to 25 goals. His third team is Scunthorpe. So the race for the cash has remained as the same as last weeks leaders once again.
In first place we have RICKY WOOD with 36 goals. In joint second place both on 35 goals we have PHIL FRANCKSEN and CHRIS SETFORD. In third place we have TONY GUY (2) and JULIE SOMERVILLE on 34 goals. With 33 goals in joint fourth place we have SIMON DICKINSON, MATT DORAN, GRAHAM PHILLIPS, DAVE WOOD and back in then race TONY KING.

WEEKEND RESULTS
This weekend the average score was just 4 goals which is a great surprise. All but three of you picked up some goals and we had some really highest scores this weekend. The reason for such a low average score is that eighteen of our teams failed to score any goals.
The highest score that we had over the weekend came from the Scottish WILLIAM HILL CUP Second Round where PETERHEAD won 9-0  at home to non-league team Colville Park. With their highest score to date and for us this season, Peterhead are now on a total of 32 goals and they have just one vote.
Peterhead started with Golden Goals in the 2005/06 Season where they were voted in as our 32nd Scottish team. They finished on a score of 63 goals which is their highest score to date. Peterhead are in their third season with us and last season they finished on a total of 58 goals. They have now scored a total of 153 goals which gives them an average score of 50 goals per season to date.

PREMIERSHIP
MANCHESTER CITY are firmly on top of the premiership after they picked up their highest result of the season giving a 7-2 thrashing to Stoke. City have now scored in all of their nine league/cup games and they have a total of 31 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED are in second place as they drew 0-0 away to LIVERPOOL. United’s goal run of eight games has ended with their first blank of the season. Liverpool have had three blanks this season. TOTTENHAM are in third place as they win 1-0 at home to BOURNEMOUTH. Tottenham are no won 16 goals while Bournemouth picked up their second consecutive blank score sheet and now five for the season. The biggest upset of the weekend was where CHELSEA lost 2-1 away to CRYSTAL PALACE who are at the bottom of the league. Chelsea scored goal number eighteen while Palace are now on five goals. ARSENAL are now on 13 goals after they went a goal up against Watford, they lost 2-1 away. WEST HAM drew 1-1 away to Burnley and they are now on 13 goals. EVERTON picked up goal number eight as they drew 1-1 away to Brighton. NEWCASTLE drew 2-2 away to Southampton and that takes them up to 11 goals.
