WEEKEND RESULTS

We had just two of our teams without a game this weekend and we had fourteen teams that failed to score any goals. We had another good weekend for goals really, even though we had a load of teams that did not score. The average score for this weekend was 7 goals which is still very high. Well done if your teams picked up more than that. The highest score that we had was five goals and they came from NEWCASTLE who won 5-1 at home to Brentford. Newcastle have taken their goals tally to 19 goals. They have scored ten goals in their last three games.

Newcastle are one of our original teams as they started in our first season of 1983/84 where they became our 6th most voted team. In that season they finished on a total of 87 goals. Their highest score came in the 1992/93 Season with a total of 105 goals. It’s the only time that they have hit 100+ goals in a season. The last time that we had Newcastle on our sheets was back in the covid 2019/20 Season on where they finished with just 50 goals. This is their 31st Season with Golden Goals and over the years they have netted a total of 2052 goals, which gives them an average score of 66 goals per season. This season they have a total of 3 votes and out of their ten games played, they have picked up just two blank score sheets.
