Carabao Cup Third Round part Two

 

We have now had our second batch of games for the Carabao Cup third round and there we some bad news for our top teams. We had another twelve of our teams in action and the few that went through to the next round are, BRIGHTON who beat ARSENAL 3-1 away. Brighton have picked up a total of 11 goals in their last four games and they are now on a total of 28 goals. Arsenal are on a total of 32 goals and they have now scored in all of their last fourteen league/cup games. MANCHESTER CITY are also through after they won 2-0 at home to CHELSEA. City are on a total of 41 goals while Chelsea picked up their 4th blank of the season and now two in a row. NEWCASTLE drew 0-0 at home to CRYSTAL PALACE before they won 3-2 on penalties. Newcastle have picked up their 4th blank of the season while Palace picked up their 5th. LIVERPOOL drew 0-0 at home to DERBY and then won 3-2 on penalties. That is Liverpool’s 3rd blank of the season while Derby have now had a total of seven.

Other teams that are out of the competition are TOTTENHAM who lost 2-0 away to Nottingham Forest. That is Tottenham’s 2nd blank of the season. LEEDS UNITED lost 1-0 away to Wolves and that is their 5th blank score sheet. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY drew 1-1 away to Southampton and then lost 6-5 on penalties. Wednesday picked up goal number 41 and they have now scored in all of their last twelve games. WEST HAM drew 2-2 at home to Blackburn Rovers but then lost 10-9 on penalties. West Ham are on a total of 14 goals. 

In League One OXFORD UNITED drew 1-1 away to Shrewsbury and they are on a total of 22 goals and they have now scored in all of their last six games. 

In the Scottish Premiership, CELTIC won 2-1 away to Motherwell and they are on a total of 56 goals and a goal run of eight games. Second place RANGERS won 1-0 at home to HEARTS and they are on a total of 37 goals and a goal run of nine games. Hearts picked up their 6th blank of the season.
