In the League Cup 2nd Round, we had a total of 13 of our Golden Goals teams in action. Out of 13 teams in cup action, only 7 are through to the next round.
With their biggest win of the season, MIDDLESBROUGH won 3-1 away to Doncaster Rovers and are on a total of 7 goals. IPSWICH TOWN won 3-1 at home to LEICESTER CITY. Ipswich with their biggest result, are now on a total of 5 goals. Leicester picked up yet another single goal, which now gives them 4 goals in 4 league/cup games. COVENTRY CITY have picked up their first goals of the season after they won 4-2 away to Plymouth. It’s 10 goals for WOLVES after they won 2-0 away to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY. Wednesday picked up their second consecutive blank score sheet. READING won 3-0 away to Stevenage and are now on a total of 7 goals. WEST HAM UNITED have picked up their biggest win of the season, 4-1 away to SOUTHAMPTON. West Ham are on 10 goals while Southampton are on 7 goals. BRENTFORD won 6-1 away to BIRMINGHAM CITY and with their biggest result to date, have taken their goals tally up to 9 goals. Birmingham are on 4 goals.
Other teams that went out are CARDIFF CITY who lost 2-1 at home to Norwich City and picked up goal number seven. CAMBRIDGE UNITED lost 1-0 at home to Millwall and picked up their first blank of the season.
