Book Now Closed

The book is now closed for this season’s Golden Goals 39. In the end we had a total of 111 entries back of which only four are new to the competition. The season has really been a bit disappointing as the number fall down once again. After reaching our peek in 2017/18 Season with 149 players, we have failed to get even near that total ever since.

How the team selection have finished

We have just forty-seven English teams this time round with Manchester City picking up the most votes with just 39. In second place we have Manchester United with 30 votes. Third place we have Liverpool with 29 votes. In fourth place we have Chelsea with 140 votes and in fifth place we have Bournemouth with 18 votes. We still have seven teams from our Scottish leagues with Rangers leading the votes this season with 54. Celtic are second with the lowest ever number of votes with just 9.

We even have two new teams to the league and they are Sutton United and Kelty Hearts with just one vote each.

Season 39 up and Running

We did not have a good start for our first day for the New Entry Forms for the Golden Goals Season 39. We had a total of 49 entries back to date. Last season we had 50 and the previous season 76 entries back on the first day. So could we be looking at a reduced season once again but we still have a long way to go before we close the books on midnight 30th July.

So how is the team selection looking so far?

We have just twenty-nine English teams with once again Manchester City picking up the most votes with 17. In second place we have Liverpool and Manchester United with 12 votes each. Third place is Chelsea with 11 while in fourth place is Bournemouth with 10 votes.

We have just four teams at the moment from our Scottish leagues with Rangers leading the votes this season with a total of 24. Celtic are currently in second place with just 2 votes. The others have just one vote each.

We still have a long way to go yet but we need more players to beat our biggest season’s total of 149 players although we still have a lot of our regulars to send in their teams.

We have had quite a few hits now with over 50,200 since we started our blog and I thought that I would be a great idea if players from other countries who would like to take part could get their families and friends to form teams like Team USA or Team Russia who are our biggest bloggers still here.

Well if you would like to know more or to receive your entry form, then you can email me, Steve at goldengoals1983@gmail.com
