Celtic are Champions


Congratulations to Celtic on becoming Champions for the third season in a row. Celtic won 5-1 away to Partick last night and they are now on a total of 87 goals.
In the English Prem, Liverpool are now on 93 goals as they win 2-1 at home to Sunderland and look set to becoming our third team this season to score 100 goals.

Midweek Results


Well the goals are still coming in and we are on for a great ending to this season. Here are the results for the last two nights.
On Monday Southend won 3-0 at home against Oxford and that now gives Southend a total of 57 goals.
Last night the biggest game of the night was the Manchester derby, but it could only go one way and it was Manchester City by winning 3-0 away to Manchester United. City are now on 114 goals while United picked up their 7th blank score sheet of the season. Arsenal  are now on a total of 68 goals as they drew 2-2 at home to Swansea. Swansea are  on a total of 48. Everton won 3-0 away to Newcastle and have taken their goals tally to 62. Everton have now scored a total of nine goals in their last four games.
In the Championship, Bolton picked up goal number 55 as they win 1-0 at home to Blackpool while Bournemouth beat Leeds Utd 4-1 at home. Bournemouth are now on 54 goals while Leeds picked up their 56th of the season. Doncaster picked up their 17th blank score sheet as they lost 2-0 away to Burnley. Middlesbrough take their goals total to 48 as they drew 2-2 away to Huddersfield. Leicester City drew 1-1 at home to Yeovil to pick up their 85th goal of the season. It’s 64 goals for Birmingham as they win 3-2 away to Millwall. Charlton have picked up their 40th goal of the season as they win 1-0 away to Nottingham Forest. Forest picked up their 8th blank score sheet and now three games in a row. QPR are now on 49 goals as they win 1-0 at home to Wigan. Wigan, who had been doing well for goals of late, picked up their 15th blank of the season. Reading lost 3-1 at home to Barnsley but are now on 59 goals. Watford take their goals tally to 68 as they drew 3-3 at home to Blackburn.
In League One, Bristol City picked up the biggest win of the night as they win 5-0 at home to Port Vale. It was also their biggest score of the season and they are now on a total of 71 goals. After a two game dry spell for goals, Sheffield UTD are now on 54 as they win 2-0 away to Crawley. Leyton Orient drew 1-1 at home to Oldham to pick up goal number 81 while Gillingham won 1-0 away to MK Dons to give them their 52nd goal of the season. The MK Dons have now picked up eleven blank score sheets. After a two game dry spell for goals, Preston won 3-1 at home to Peterborough. Preston are now on a total of 67 goals while Borough hit goal number 79. Brentford lost 3-0 away to Rotherham and picked up their 9th blank of the season and Swindon won 2-1 away to Tranmere. Swindon are now on 59 goals. Wolves are on 73 goals as they win 4-2 at home to Colchester.
In League Two, Scunthorpe are now on 62 goals as they win 2-0 away to Cheltenham. Fleetwood Town won 3-1 at home against Bristol Rovers to take their goals tally to 62 while Rovers are now on 44 goals. Portsmouth are still in trouble as they lost again 3-0 away to Rochdale. Portsmouth have now failed to score in their last two games and they have scored just one goal in their last six games.
In Scotland, Aberdeen drew 1-1 away to Ross County to pick up goal number 58 while Morton lost 3-0 away to Cowdenbeath to get their 13th blank score sheet of the season. Queen of South lost 1-0 away to Dundee to pick up their 8th blank score sheet.

WEEK THIRTY-THREE

 

We are now down to any of our top four people that all could be our next champion of Golden Goals. But Chris Nunn has jumped back to the top this weekend after his combinations of teams picked him up a total of 15 goals. Chris has in his combination Arsenal, Man City and Rangers.
Paul Davey is still in second place but because of the weekend goals, Paul stay’s second again. Paul has already spent one weekend at the top and his combination did well again this week. Paul picked up a total of tweleve goals for the week with Man City, Rangers and Wolves.
In the 103 spot we still have Malcolm Cormack who has now been there for eight weeks, and now nine over the season. Malcolm picked up just two goals again this week from his teams of Charlton, Portsmouth and Swindon. Above him in 102 John Dove has returned after his teams picked him up just  three goals and twenty-two goals in front of Malcolm.
Rangers still have that 100% scoring record as they have now stretched their total to thirty-six games, as they win 2-1 away to Brechin.
We had a fantastic  weekend for our teams in Golden Goals. It was Chelsea and Liverpool  that scored the highest amount of goals with six each.  Chelsea won 6-0 at home to London rivals Arsenal while Liverpool won 6-3 away to Cardiff. With both teams picking up their biggest win of the season, Chelse are now on 70 goals while Liverpool are on 91.
In the Premiership, As I have already said what a great weekend we had for goals from the Golden Goals selections this weekend. Chelsea are top with Liverpool still in second place. Manchester City are now third as they win 5-0 at home to Fulham. City are now on 111 goals. Arsenal are down to fourth place with Tottenham in fifth as they win 3-2 at home to Southampton to take their goals total to 47. Everton won 3-2 at home to Swansea and are now on 59 goals while Swansea are now on 46. Manchester United are on 59 goals as they beat West Ham 2-0 away. Aston Villa picked up goal number 37 as they lost 4-1 at home to Stoke. Cyrstal Palace lost 1-0 away to Newcastle and picked up their 16th blank of the season. Palace have now scored just four goals in their last seven games.
In the Championship Leicester City remains top again this weekend as they drew 1-1 away to Blackburn. City are now on 84 goals, which is more than they scored last season.We still have three teams in the play-off zone and they are QPR who won 3-1 away to Middlesbrough. Rangers are now on 48 goals while Brough hit goal number 46. Wigan won 2-1 at home to Watford and are now on 62 goals and doing very well. They have now scored in all of their last ten games. Watford scored goal number 65. Reading are also there as they win 2-1 away to Birmingham. Reading are now on 58 while Birmingham are on 61. Nottingham Forest are just outside the zone but they lost 5-0 away to Derby. Forest picked up their 7th blank score sheet and now two games in a row. Bournemouth picked up their 50th goal of the season as they win 1-0 away to Barnsley. Blackpool are on 33 goals as they win 1-0 at home to Huddersfield. Charlton lost 3-0 at home to Burnley and picked up their 17th blank of the season. Doncaster are on 37 as they win 1-0 at home against Sheff Wed while Bolton after a two games dry spell, drew 2-2 away to Yeovil. Bolton are now on 54 goals.
The three best teams to date in Golden Goals are Man City wth 111 goals followed by Rangers now on 104. Liverpool are third now with 91 goals.
Crystal Palace are still our worst team to date with a total of just 23 goals out of a total of 33 league/cup games.

Reviewing Our Teams Part-Five

Here is our fifth set of teams to see how they are progressing this season in Golden Goals.
LEYTON ORIENT (1 vote) are currently on a total of 79 goals and they have so far only picked up five blank score sheets this season. Orient started in our second season and finished on a total of 60 goals. In the following season they picked up their highest score of 99 goals. This is their 19th Season with the competition and the last time that they were out they finished on a total of 65 goals in 2006/07 Season. This is the best that they have done in their last seven apperences in Golden Goals.
BOURNEMOUTH (1 vote) are on 49 goals and have picked up a total of eleven blank score sheets. Bournemouth are in their 8th season with us and they first started back in our 1987/88 Season with 63 goals. Their best score is 79 goals scored back in our 2002/03 Season. 50 goals is their lowest score and that was back in our 2005/06 Season.
SCUNTHORPE (1 vote) have been doing well over the last couple of months. They are on 59 goals and have had a total of eight blank score sheets to date. This is Scunthorpe’s fifth season with Golden Goals and their best was in their first season of 2002/03 with 76 goals. Last season they netted just 55 goals.
LEICESTER CITY (1 vote) are on 83 goals and have a total of three blank score sheets. City have scored in all of their last twenty-two league/cup games. This is City’s 12th season with us and their highest score is 94 scored back in our 2008/09 Season. Their lowest score was the season before with just 50 goals.
SOUTHEND (1 vote) are on 54 goals and have had a total of eight blank score sheets to date. Southend started with us in our third season and they finished on a total of 72 goals. Their highest score was in our 1990/92 season with 74 goals. Last season they finished on 67 goals.
BRENTFORD (1 vote) are now on 69 goals and have a total of eight blank score sheets. Brentford started in our very first season but they have only been with us for thirteen seasons. 95 goals is their best with us and that was back in our 1998/99 Season. Last time out in 2004/05 Season they finished on 68 goals.

Midweek Results

We have had a couple of games played by some our our teams this week. On Moday Rangers played in the WILLIAM HILL CUP 6th Round replay and won 2-0 against Albion. Rangers are now on 102 goals and doing very well this season again.

In the Championship, Charlton after failling to score in their last four games, picked up goal number 39 as they win 1-0 at home against Bournemouth. Bournemouth picked up their 11th blank and now two games in a row. QPR picked up their 13th as they lost 3-0 away to Sheffield Wednesday. Wigan are on 60 goals as they drew 3-3 at home to Yeovil.
In League One, Preston drew 0-0 at home to Sheffiled United to pick up their 12th blank score sheet and United’s 10th. Wolves are on 67 goals as they lost 2-1 away to Crawley Town.

Reviewing Our Teams Part Four


Here is our fourth set of teams to see how they are progressing this season.
LEEDS UTD (2 votes) have a total of 53 goals and a total of 12 blank score sheets. They have been in the competition for twenty-seven of the thirty-one played. Their best score was back in our 2008/09 Season with 97 goals. Last season they picked up 75. Their lowest score was 45 goals in our 2003/04 Season.
SHEFFIELD UTD (2 votes) are on a total of 52 goals and a total of 10 blank score sheets to date. They have been with Golden Goals for thirteen seasons and the best that they have done is 104 goals scored back in our 2011/12 Season. In 1993/94 Season they picked up their lowest score of 41 goals.
MIDDLESBROUGH (2 votes) currently are on 45 goals and with a total of 12 blank score sheets. Brough started with Golden Goals back in our 1986/87 Season and finished on a total of 78 goals. They have scored a total of 92 goals in two seasons. First in 1996/97 and then again in the following seasson of 1997/98. Their lowest score is 47 goals scored back in our 2001/02 Season. Last time out in the 2010/11 Season they finished on a total of 72 goals.
SWINDON (2 votes) are on 56 goals and have also had a total of 12 blank score sheets this season. This is their seventeenth season with us. Their first season was in 1986/87 and they finished on a total of 99 goals. This is not their best score as they netted a total of 100 in the 1989/90 Season. The lowest score thay have is 44 goals in our 1997/98 Season. Last season they finished on 88 goals.
BOLTON (2 votes) are on 52 goals and they have had a total of 11 blank score sheets. Bolton started with us back in 1985/86 season and finished on 60 goals. This is their 13th season with us and the best that they have finished on is 121 goals back in our 1996/97 Season. Their lowest score was in the season  before that with just 49 goals. Last season they finished on 75.

WEEK THIRTY-TWO


We still have any of our top six people that all could be our next champion of Golden Goals. But once again, Mike Adkins has remained top again this weekend and has now completed his eighth weekend at the top. Mike picked up a total of eight goals this week from his combination of Arsenal, Man City and Rangers.
Paul Davey has moved back into second place but because of the weekend goals, Paul stay’s second. Paul has already spent one weekend at the top and his combination did well this week. Paul picked up a total of eleven goals for the week with Man City, Rangers and Wolves.
In the 103 spot we still have Malcolm Cormack who has now been there for seven weeks, and now eight over the season. Malcolm picked up just two goals from his teams of Charlton, Portsmouth and Swindon. Above him in 102 we still have keamus Setna our 2005/06 Champion. Keamus picked up six goals from his combination of Arsenal, Bolton and Doncaster and is now nineteen goals in front of Malcolm.
Rangers still have that 100% scoring record as they have now stretched their total to thirty-four games, as they win 2-0 at home to Dunfermline. Rangers become our second team of the season to pick up 100 goals.
After a great midweek results it all went wrong at the weekend for our teams in Golden Goals. It was Stenhousemuir that scored the highest amount of goals with four as they win 4-2 at home to Brechin. Stenhousemuir are now on 57 goals.
In the Premiership, Four out of our ten premiership teams failed to pick up any goals this weekend and that is also why we had a bad weekend for goals. Chelsea are still top here but they lost 1-0 away to Aston Villa. Chelsea picked up their 7th blank of the season while Villa picked up goal number 36. Liverpool are second as they win 3-0 away to Manchester UTD. Liverpool are now on 85 goals and still our third best team. They have now scored in all of their last twenty-two games. United picked up blank number six. Arsenal are third as they win just 1-0 away to Tottenham to pick up goal 66 while Tottenham picked up their 10th blank and now two games in a row. Tottenham have now scored just one goal in their last four games. Manchester City are now on 106 goals as they win 2-0 away to Hull. Everton are on 56 goals as they win 2-1 at home to Cardiff. Crystal Palace drew 0-0 away to Sunderland to pick up their 15th blank and now two games in a row. Swansea lost 2-1 at home against West Brom and are now on 44 goals.
The three best teams to date in Golden Goals are Man City wth 106 goals followed by Rangers now on 100. Liverpool are still third with 85 goals.
Crystal Palace are still our worst team to date with a total of just 23 goals.
