Week Twenty-Eight

This weekends average score remained the same as last weekend with just 3 goals. We really had a great weekend for goals even though we had twelve teams that did not play over the weekend. With the remaining teams, we had just one that failed to score any goals.
We had two teams that picked up the highest scores of the weekend and they were not in cup action. From the English Championship NOTTINGHAM FOREST drew 4-4 away to Blackpool to take their goals total to 51 and WATFORD won 4-3 away to Bolton. Watford are now on 65 goals.
 
FA CUP Fifth Round
We had five of our teams in cup action and out of them three have made it through to the Quarter-Finals. LIVERPOOL won 2-1 away to CRYSTAL PALACE and that takes them up to 50 goals while Palace are now on 40. READING also won 2-1 away to DERBY and that gives them a total of 44 goals while Derby picked up goal number 73. ARSENAL are through as they win 2-0 at home to Middlesbrough and that puts them on 55 goals.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP
We now have three teams in the play-off zone and they are Derby, Watford and NORWICH. They won 2-0 at home to WOLVES. Norwich are on 62 goals while Wolves picked up their 9th blank score sheet of the season. CHARLTON won
3-0 at home to Brentford and they picked up their highest score since week three in Golden Goals. Charlton are now on 36 goals. FULHAM picked upgoal number 53 as they lost 2-1 at home to Ipswich. LEEDS won 1-0 at home to Millwall and get goal number 36.
 
LEAGUE ONE
BRISTOL CITY are top here as they lost 3-1 at home to SHEFFIELD UNITED. City picked up goal number 61 while United have had a great week for goals and they are now on a total of 58. We have three of the four teams in the play-off zone and they are Sheffield United, Preston and MK DONS who lost 4-2 away to Gillingham and they are now on 76 goals this weekend. LEYTON ORIENT won 3-2 away to Chesterfield and they are now on 42goals while BARNSLEY are on 47 as they lost 5-1 away to Crawley. DONCASTER have also had a great week with five goals in midweek they then won 3-0 at home to Yeovil. Doncaster are on 46 goals. Its 40 goals for PETERBOROUGH as they win 2-1 at home against Rochdale and SCUNTHORPE won 3-1 at home to Swindon. Scunthorpe are now on atotal of 48 goals.
 
LEAGUE TWO
LUTON are still in the play off zone and still fourth again this weekend as they win 1-0 at home against Carlisle. Luton pickedup goal number 45. BURY are on 48 as they win 2-1away to Cheltenham. After a three gaame dry spell for goals, STEVENAGE won 3-1 away to Hartlepool and are now on 43 goals while PORTSMOUTH are on 33 goals as they win 1-0 at home against Exeter.
                                     
SCOTTISH LEAGUES                                                                                                           
In Scotland CELTIC are still top of the tree in the Premiership as they win 2-1 away to St Johnstone and they are now our best Scottish team on 65 goals. HEARTS won 1-0 at home to Livingston and that was their 64th goal of the season. DUNFERMLINE won 3-2 at home to STENHOUSEMUIR and they are now on 48 goals while Stenhousemuir are on 33.
 
THE BEST THREE TEAMS ARE…  

MK DONS (76) DERBY (73) CHELSEA (69) Total of 218 goals.
 
THE WORST THREE TEAMS ARE…  

QPR (26) WIGAN (28) ROTHERHAM (31) Total of 85 goals.
 
QPR are still our worst team this weekend even though they picked up two goals in midweek. Rangers have played a total of 27 games and they have picked up a total of eleven blank score sheets.
 
We have had three teams that have picked up the highest number of blank score sheets to date. They are PORTSMOUTH, ROTHERHAM and WIGAN. All three have picked up a total of 13 blank score sheets each to date.
 
We have had three teams that have now picked up the highest score this season. First MANCHESTER CITY won their Capital One Cup third round tie against Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 at home.  MK DONS won 7-0 at home to Oldham in the league and WATFORD have won 7-2 at home to Blackpool also in the league.
 
Manchester City had a record breaking end of season score of 137 goals from last season and they will not be beating it this season. In Week twenty-eight last season, City had no game in midweek and they picked up two goals at the weekend. Their goals tally has moved up to 99 goals after thirty-four games played. They have had four blank score sheet’s and their highest score was seven goals against Norwich in the league.
This season they picked up four goals in midweek but they had no game at the weekend. So City are now on a total of 60 goals this weekend and they have had a total of four blank score sheet after twenty-nine games played. They are clawing back the goals difference and are now 39 goals behind last seasons record run. They are at home to Newcastle at the weekend.

Although there was not many changes in the top ten this weekend, here they are.
