Week Two

Here we go with our second week of English football. MARK HOWARD has moved top this weekend as he’s combination of teams pick him up a total of 13 goals for the week. Six came in midweek with the seven at the weeeknd from Hearts 2, Manchester City 3 and Swindon 2. A very close second is MICK LIDDLE who picked up 10 goals for the week.

At the other end at number 119, JOHN NICHOLLS drops down to that place as he only picked up a total  of just two more goals from his combination. They all came from the weekend from Arsenal. His other teams are Bolton and Newcastle who both picked up blank score sheets this weekend.

So it’s Week Two in our 33rd Season and we had two winners this weekend who picked up a total of 11 goals each. This is our highest weekend score of the season and they shared the £5 Weekend Cash Prize Money. Our winners are  DANIEL GOODSON and IAN SMITH both have picked up their highest score of the season and both have played in previous season s with us.Daniel is in his third season with Golden Goals, but last season was his best and finished in second place on 302 goals. Daniel has a complete change of  teams this season.Ian is in his second season with us and finished in 77th place out of 106 om 242 goals. Only keeping Manchester City from last season, Ian has moved up to 11th place after picking up a total of 16 goals for the week. Our winners teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT 

So we have had a couple of weeks football now and so it’s about time the we took a look at the race for the £40 cash prize money for this season. We had just one person who picked up the highest amount of midweek goals with a total of 9 goals . They belonged to Mrs DEPP with Celtic 2, Charlton 4 and Manchester City 3. She now has a total of 11 midweek goals. But it is MICK LIDDLE is in the lead in the race for the cash as he now has a total of 17 midweek goals. In second place on 16 we have CRAIG EVANS while on 14 goals we have MARK HOWARD and GEOFFREY PAIN. In Fourth place on 13 we have BARBARA BARNES (2) and on 12 goals all in fifth place we have DANIEL GOODSON, TOM McDONALD and RICHARD WILLIAMS. 

WEEKEND 
Most of us managed to pick up some goals from our combination this weekend as we had another good week for goals. The average score for the weekend was a massive 7 goals which is really high. The highest score that we had over the weekend came from RANGERS in the Scottish Championship. They won their second league game 5-1 away to Alloa which puts them right at the top of the league. Rangers are now on 11 goals they also have 21 votes this season which is really low for them. Still here is the rest of the weekend results.

PREMIERSHIP 
MANCHESTER CITY are top here as they beat title rivals CHELSEA a whopping 3-0 at home. City have won both of their league games and they are now on 6 goals. Chelsea picked up their first blank score sheet. EVERTON are fourth as they picked up their highest score to date with a 3-0 away win over Southampton. Everton are on 5 goals. ARSENAL are on the score sheet as they win 2-1 away to Crystal Palace. WEST HAM lost 2-1 at home to Leicester City and that was their third of the season. NORWICH picked up their highest score as they win 3-1 away to Sunderland. The goals now gives them a total of four. NEWCASTLE picked up their first blank score sheet as they lost 2-0 away to Swansea. TOTTENHAM drew 2-2 at home to Stoke to give them their first goals of the season. WATFORD drew 0-0 at home to West Brom to get their first blank score sheet of the season. 

CHAMPIONSHIP 
In the Championship, BRIGHTON are top after they beat Fulham 2-1 away. Brighton are on 4 goals. MIDDLESBROUGH are second as they win 3-0 at home to BOLTON. Brough are going well with six goals in three games while Bolton are our worst team with no goals in their three games played. BRENTFORD are third as they picked up their biggest score to date with a 4-2 away win over BRISTOL CITY. Brentford are on 6 goals while City are finding it very hard in this league, they have 3 goals to date. CHARLTON are fourth as they drew 1-1 away to DERBY. Charlton are on 7 goals while Derby are on two. HULL drew 1-1 away to WOLVES to give them both their 5th goal of the season. BURNLEY are on 3 goals as they drew 2-2 at home to Birmingham while IPSWICH won 2-1 at home against Sheff Wed to take their goals tally to six. MK DONS who started off well lost 1-0 at home to PRESTON. That was the Dons first blank of the season while Preston are now on 4 goals. It’s five goals for NOTTINGHAM FOREST as they win 2-1 at home to Rotherham. QPR are on 5 goals as they drew 2-2 at home to CARDIFF. Cardiff are on four goals. LEEDS UTD picked up their first blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 away to Reading.

LEAGUE ONE 
SWINDON are our highest team here in fourth place. They drew 2-2 away to Bury. Swindon are on 7 goals. BURTON picked up their first blank of the season as they lost 1-0 away to Barnsley. BLACKPOOL picked up their second and now two games in a row as they lost 2-0 at home to Rochdale. MILLWALL lost 4-0 at home to Coventry and that was their first blank of the season. PETERBOROUGH are on four goals as they won 2-1 at home to Colchester. It’s two goals for PORT VALE now as they drew 1-1 at home to Gillingham. SCUNTHORPE won 2-0 at home against Crewe and they are now on 4 goals. SHEFFIELD UNITED are on three goals as they win 2-0 at home to CHESTERFIELD. Chesterfield picked up their first blank score sheet of the season. SOUTHEND picked up their second and now two games in a row as they lost 2-0 at home to Walsall. WIGAN drew 0-0 at home to Doncaster and that was their second blank score sheet. 

LEAGUE TWO 
We have the top three teams here with WYCOMBE on top as they win 2-0 away to Barnet. Wycombe are on 5 goals. LEYTON ORIENT are second as they pick up their highest score with a 3-1 away win over Dag & Redbridge. Orient are on 6 goals. Third is PORTSMOUTH as they win 2-1 away to PLYMOUTH. Portsmouth are on 7 goals while Plymouth hit goal number four. LUTON drew 2-2 at home to Oxford and are now on 6 goals while STEVENAGE also drew 2-2 away to Newport. Stevenage are on 3 goals. EXETER lost 3-0 away to Northampton and picked up their first blank of the season.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES 
In the Scottish Premiership, we have the top three here as well. CELTIC are down to second place after they won 4-2 at home to Inverness. This is Celtic’s highest score to date and they are on a total of 10 goals. HEARTS are top as they win 2-1 away to Ross County and that gives them a total of 14 goals. ABERDEEN are third as they win 2-1 away to Motherwell and are now on 5 goals. In the Championship with Rangers top, QUEEN OF THE SOUTH are second as they win 1-0 away to Livingston and that gives them a total of 8 goals. FALKIRK won 1-0 at home to hit their 7th goal against Raith. HIBERNIAN are on 5 goals as they win 1-0 at home to Morton. In the lower Leagues, STENHOUSEMIR won 2-1 at home to Airdrie and are on 4 goals. CLYDE lost 2-0 at home to QUEENS PARK and that gave them their second blank of the season. Queens Park picked up their first goals of the season. BERWICK lost 
5-0 away to East Fife. That was Berwicks first blank of the season.

So lets have a look at out BEST three teams this week with Golden Goals.

Our worst team is BOLTON. After three games which is a cup and two league games, Bolton have failed to score in any of them.

Our Best team is HEARTS scoring in all of their five League and Cup games.

Our highest goal scorers in our 33rd Season are FALKIRK and RANGERS. Falkirk won 5-0 in the Scottish Communities League Cup First Round against East Stirling in week one, while Rangers get their score this weekend from Alloa winning 5-1 away.
