It’s Week Thirty-Four of Season 34 and we had
no payout this weekend all due to the World Cup qualifying rounds over the
weekend. So we have another Rollover for £12 this weekend coming which will be our
seventh of the season.
Well done to
England on winning their fourth group game out of five and top of the Group F
as they win 2-0 against Lithuania. Looks good for England in next years Russian
World Cup.
100
MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
We had two
players that picked up the highest score in midweek with 3 goals each from
Millwall and we had another six players that also picked up some more goals.
But we have
added another players name to our list this week at last. DARYL NICHOLLS is still on a total of 109 goals this week and still in front.
He has Celtic, Brighton and Newcastle. In second place on 101 goals is LUCIFER the Cat or John Wood. He picked up the goals from Accrington Stanley. His
other teams are Brighton and Newcastle. The only other player to score 100 goals
in midweek is ANDY EYLES. Andy has Manchester City, Newcastle and Rangers. So we once again are still
waiting to see if Daryl can beat our highest
midweek score set by Paul Davey in
our 2013/14 Season of a total of 132 goals.
WEEKEND
RESULTS
Due to the
International games that have been played over the weekend, we only had the English
League’s one and two plus a couple of our Scottish teams in action. The average
score which is not surprising fell down to a flat zero. We had Just twenty-three of our teams in
action over the weekend in which eight of the teams failed to score any goals.
So in that respect a very dull weekend here at Golden Goals.
The highest
score over the weekend came from the English
League One SCUNTHORPE and in League Two YEOVIL as both teams picked up the score of three goals
each.
Scunthorpe won 3-2 at
home to BRADFORD to take their goals
tally to 73 while Bradford are on a total of 55 goals and they have now scored
in all of their last thirteen games. Yeovil
drew 3-3 away to Exeter and that now gives them a total of 47 goals.
LEAGUE ONE
We still have
the top team here with SHEFFIELD UNITED
still on top as they drew 1-1 away to OLDHAM.
United are now on 83 goals while Oldham hit goal number 33.
In the
Play-off zone we have SCUNTHORPE up
to fourth place with BRADFORD moving
down to fifth place. SOUTHEND have remained
in sixth place after they won 2-0 away to AFC Wimbledon to take their goals
total to 61.
Meanwhile MILLWALL lost 1-0 away to Swindon and
that was their twelfth blank of the season and now just three goals in their
last four games. BRISTOL ROVERS lost
1-0 away to Coventry to pick up their eighth blank of the season. MK DONS drew 0-0 away to PORT VALE to get their fifteenth blank
of the season while Vale get their thirteenth.
PETERBOROUGH are
now on 66 goals as they win 1-0 away to GILLINGHAM
who picked up their ninth blank of the season.
LEAGUE TWO
We still have the top three teams here this weekend with DONCASTER
still on top even though they lost 1-0 at home to second place PLYMOUTH.
Doncaster picked up their fourth blank score sheet while Plymouth take their
goals tally to 62. In third place
is PORTSMOUTH as they win 2-1 at home to Newport. Portsmouth are now on a total of 65 goals.
In the play-off zone we just have LUTON again moving
back down to sixth place after they lost 2-1 away to COLCHESTER. Luton
are now on 69 goals while Colchester move their ‘s up to 56.
Meanwhile ACCRINGTON STANLEY are now on 56 goals as
they drew 1-1 at home to Grimsby. LEYTON ORIENT picked up their
sixteenth blank score sheet after they lost 3-0 away to Crawley Town.
SCOTTISH
RESULTS
In the Scottish Championship, HIBERNIAN are now ten points clear of
second placed FALKIRK as they beat
them 2-1 at home. Hibernian are now on a total of 61 goals while Falkirk picked
up goal number 53. In League One, STENHOUSEMUIR are still rock bottom of
this league as they lost again 3-0 at home to Albion. Stenhousemuir have now
had a total of twelve blank score sheets this season and now three games with
out a single goal. PETERHEAD after a
tow game dry spell for goals, are now on a total of 45 as they drew 2-2 at home
to Stranraer.
Our Best Three Teams Are
CELTIC (100)
NEWCASTLE (85) SHEFFIELD UNITED (83) Total of 268 goals
Our Worst Three Teams Are
OLDHAM (33)
KILMARNOCK (33) STOKE (38) Total of 104 goals
Our Best
team on form is still CELTIC after they have scored in all of their thirty-six
League and Cup games played and netting a total of 100 goals which still gives
them an average score of two goals per game.
Our worst
teams is still OLDHAM this weekend as they have picked up a total of twenty-three blank score sheets out of their forty-four
games played.
Our highest
goal scorers in our 34th Season are
HIBERNIAN after they won 8-1
away to non-league team Bonnyrigg Ross in the Fourth Round of the Scottish WILLIAM HILL CUP in Week Twenty-Five.
JUNE TIGHE is now in her fourth weekend at the top as she picks up just
one goal for the week. June’s single goal came at the weekend from Sheffield
United. Celtic and Newcastle had no
game. June is now five goals clear of Stephen Stubbs who has remained in second
place. June is still in 33rd place in our Champions League.
At the other end at that dreaded number 136
we have EMMA SAWYER back but
only on goal difference. Emma picked up two
goals from her combination from Hibernian as her other two teams, Charlton and
Leicester City had no games. Emma has now had a total of five weeks at the
bottom. The good news for Emma is that she is moving up our
Loser’s League and is currently at number thirty as she has beaten Richard
Lloyd’s final score of 154 total of 1993/94 Season, Ian Etheridge score of 156 in the
1999/00 and Freda Hillier’s score also of 156 goals back in the 1987/66 Season.
Kathy’s Somerville combination picked
her up a total of four goals all at the weekend which was our highest score.
They came from Oldham 1 and Yeovil 3. Her third team Tottenham who had no game.
