Week Thirty-Two

It’s Week Thirty-Two of Season 34 and we had just one winner  this weekend who won on a score of 13 goals, which is the highest for a few weekends now. Our winner is JOHN DOVE who picks up his season win of the season.
John last won in week twenty-four and he becomes the sixth person to win twice this season. John picked up his personal best score at the weekend but 54 is still his best position and that was in week twenty-six. John has picked up five blank score sheets to date and Arsenal have now become his best team. John’s combination is once again

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
As you know that we Congratulated DARYL NICHOLLS last week as he won this season’s 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot of £80. Daryl picked up another five goals from his combination this week which now gives him a total of 109 goals. He has Celtic, Brighton and Newcastle. The only other player to score 100 goals in midweek is ANDY EYLES. Although Andy has Manchester City and Newcastle who both failed to score in midweek his other team is Rangers.
Could Daryl beat our highest midweek score set by Paul Davey in our 2013/14 Season of a total of 132 goals.                

WEEKEND RESULTS
We came back to earth with a thud this weekend as the average score moved down from five goals last weekend to just 4 goals this weekend.  Although we had nine of our teams without a game over the weekend, we had another eleven teams that failed to score any goals.
The highest score over the weekend came from the FA CUP Quarter-Finals as TOTTENHAM beat London rivals MILLWALL 6-0 at home. As Tottenham picked up their highest result of the season and are now on a total of 74 goals, Millwall picked up their tenth blank of the season.
Tottenham are in their 33rd Season with Golden Goals as they missed our 2000/01 Season but they became our 10th most voted team in our very first season of 1983/84 where they finished on a score of 71 goals. Their highest score came in the 1986/87 Season with 109 goals. Last season they netted a total of 78 goals. Over the years they have netted a total of 2393 goals to date which gives them an average of 72 goals per season.

 FA CUP Quarter-Finals
We have six of the eight teams that started off in this round and out of them only three are through to the Semi-Finals so far.
We already know that Tottenham are through after their biggest win of the season but so are MANCHESTER CITY who won 2-0 away to Middlesbrough. After their draw in midweek, City are now on a total of 70 goals. ARSENAL will be joining them as they beat non-league Lincoln City 5-0 at home. Arsenal are now on 75 goals and they have now scored in all of their last seventeen games. Our other two teams are CHELSEA and MANCHESTER UNITED who play tonight.

PREMIERSHIP
Chelsea had no game over the weekend so they have remained top of the Premiership 10 points in front of  Tottenham who are still in second place with Manchester City right behind them on goal difference. In fourth place is still  LIVERPOOL after they won 2-1 at home to Burnley. Liverpool are now on 74 goals. EVERTON are still in seventh place even though they beat West Brom 3-0 at home. Everton are now on a total of 52 goals. BOURNEMOUTH won their eight league game as they beat WEST HAM 3-2 at home after going a goal down in the first ten minutes. Bournemouth have taken their goals tally to 44 while West Ham are now on 42 goals.

CHAMPIONSHIP
We still have the top two teams here with NEWCASTLE are just hanging on to the top after they lost 3-1 at home to Fulham. Newcastle are now on a total of 84 goals and 5 point in front Brighton have also played thirty-seven league games and also have 77 points in second place.  
In the play-off zone, we still have two teams with LEEDS UNITED still in fourth place after they drew 0-0 at home to QUEENS PARK RANGERS. Leeds picked up their tenth blank of the season while Rangers picked up their eleventh. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY have remained in sixth place after they lost 2-0 away to ASTON VILLA. Wednesday have now picked up a total of seven blank score sheets while Villa are now on a total of 38 goals.
Meanwhile PRESTON won 3-0 at home to Reading to take their goals total to 58 while NORWICH are on 75 goals after they drew 2-2 at home to Blackburn. BRENTFORD picked up their eleventh blank score sheet after they lost 1-0 at home to Huddersfield. CARDIFF drew 1-1 at home to Birmingham and that was their 51st goal of the season. WOLVES are now on 49 goals as they won 1-0 at home to bottom of the table Rotherham. Wolves have now scored just three goals in their last seven games.

LEAGUE ONE
We still have the top team here with Sheffield United still on top but they had no game over the weekend.
In the Play-off zone we have BRADFORD now in fourth place after they won 2-0 away to Coventry. Bradford are now on a total of 50 goals and they have now scored in all of their last ten games. SCUNTHORPE lost 3-2 away to GILLINGHAM and have dropped down to fifth place on 67 goals. Gillingham are now on 60 goals and have now scored in all of their last eleven games. Millwall are now in sixth place.
Meanwhile SOUTHEND lost 2-0 away to BRISTOL ROVERS and that was their tenth blank of the season while Rovers take their goals tally to 65. CHARLTON drew 1-1 at home to WALSALL and are now on 51 goals while Walsall hit goal  number 45. MK DONS are on 58 goals after they drew 2-2 at home to Rochdale. OLDHAM picked up another blank score sheet twenty-three in all as they drew 0-0 at home to Bury. PETERBOROUGH lost 1-0 at home to Oxford to pick up goal number 61. PORT VALE won 3-2 at home to Swindon and they are now on 44 goals.

LEAGUE TWO
We have the top three teams here this weekend with DONCASTER still on top after they won 2-0 at home against Cheltenham and that now gives them a total of 70 goals. In second place is still PLYMOUTH after they won 2-0 away to Mansfield. Plymouth are now on 59 goals and still four points behind Doncaster. In third place this weekend is PORTSMOUTH as they won 4-0 away to COLCHESTER. Portsmouth have not scored big for a very long while but they are now on 59 goals. Colchester picked up their tenth blank of the season.
In the play-off zone we just have LUTON have moved down to sixth place as they lost 2-0 at home to Stevenage. After a goal run of eleven games, Luton picked up their seventh blank of the season.
Meanwhile ACCRINGTON STANLEY are now on 47 goals as they win 2-0 away to Exeter. LEYTON ORIENT picked up their fourteenth blank of the season as they lost 3-0 at home to Grimsby. After a run of four games with out a goal, YEOVIL won 3-1 away to Morecombe and that now takes their goals total to 41.

SCOTTISH RESULTS
In the Scottish Premiership, Champions CELTIC drew 1-1 at home to rivals RANGERS after going a goal up at half time. As Celtic edge nearer to another 100 goals with 98, Rangers hit goal number 68. ABERDEEN are now on 62 goals as they win 1-0 at home to Motherwell. KILMARNOCK won 2-1 away to Ross County and they are now on 32 goals while St JOHNSTONE are on 53 goals as they win 2-0 at home to Dundee.
In the Championship, FALKIRK are still in second place behind Hibernian as they win 4-1 away to Ayr and they are now on a total of 52 goals.
In League One, STENHOUSEMUIR are still bottom of the league as they lost 2-1 away to Alloa. Stenhousemuir are now on 45 goals. PETERHEAD picked up their ninth blank of the season as they lost 1-0 at home to Brechin.

Our Worst Three Teams Are

OLDHAM (29) KILMARNOCK (32) STOKE (37) Total of 98 goals

Our Best team on form is still CELTIC after they have scored in all of their thirty-five League and Cup games played and netting a total of 98 goals which still gives them an average score of two goals per game.

Our worst teams is  OLDHAM  this weekend as they have picked up a total of  twenty-three blank score sheets out of forty-one games played.

Our highest goal scorers in our 34th Season are  HIBERNIAN after they won 8-1 away to non-league team Bonnyrigg Ross in the Fourth Round of the Scottish WILLIAM HILL CUP in Week Twenty-Five.

JUNE TIGHE stay’s top for a second weekend running as she picks up a total of just five goals for the week.  June’s combination picked her up a three goals in midweek and two from the weekend. The goals at the weekend came from Celtic 1and Newcastle 1. Sheffield United had no game at the weekend.

At the other end at that dreaded number 136 KATHY SOMERVILLE is now in her eleventh straight weekend in a row and now sixteen weekends over the season. Kathy’s combination picked her up a total of nine goals for the week and her combination is Oldham, Tottenham and Yeovil. This is her personal best since beginning of December. Emma Sawyer picked up a total of five goals for the week. Her teams are once again Charlton, Hibernian and Leicester City and that now means that Kathy is just three goals behind Emma.
