Week Twenty-Six

In Week Twenty-Six of the competition and we have  had another single player that has won this weekends jackpot of £6 on a score of 9 goals. They become our thirty-third winner of the season and it goes to a STEPHEN LEADER.
Stephen is in his second season with Golden Goals and in last season’s table, he finished in 82nd place out of 136 on a total of 277 goals. This season, Stephen has changed all of his combination from last season and it could be for the better as his teams are starting to get them goals in. In fact he has picked up twenty-six goals in the last two weeks and this is the highest that he has been for most of the season. 58th place is his highest in week one. Stephen has picked up five blank score sheets to date and his best team is Celtic. His first win in two season’s come from
CELTIC 1, FULHAM 3, LEICESTER CITY 5

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
We have now added another three players that are on 50 or more midweek goals and that takes our total to 132 out of 149. We had fourteen of our teams in midweek action and most of them picked up goals. It was CHRIS DICKER that picked up the most number of goals with nine goals.  They came from Celtic two, Manchester City three and Manchester United four. So the race for the cash has changed once again from last weeks leaders.
We have a new leader this week with a total of 80 goals, and that is (Me) STEVE REEVE. What a surprise that is as my combination is not doing very well at all. In second place on 77 goals and moving all the way up from fifth place is RAYMOND HARROD. In third place dropping down from one last week is STEPHEN LEADER and  MICK LIDDLE moving up from four. Both are on a total of 76 goals. In fourth place all on 75 goals we have MATT DORAN and GRAHAM PHILLIPS moving down from three with TONY SKINNER who has moved up from five. In fifth place down from two is JAMES BLYTH and remaining there is STEPHANIE CHRISTIE and MIKE PEPPERRELL. Joining them is MARK GREGORY and TERRY WARWICK all on 74 goals. Who will be here next week?

WEEKEND RESULTS
After last weekends high average score of nine goals we have come back down to earth as this weekends average score is just 4 goals. The reason for that is that we had fourteen of our teams with out a game and another fourteen teams that failed to score any goals.
Most of our teams played in the 4th  Round of the FA CUP and this is where our highest score came in from LEICESTER CITY who won 5-1 away to PETERBOROUGH. That was Leicester’s highest score of the season and they are now on a total of 53 goals. Peterborough picked up goal number 63.
Leicester City became our 64th voted English team into Golden Goals and they did not start with us until the 1987/88 Season where they finished on a total of 68 goals. We had to wait till the 2013/14 Season for them to score their highest score with 98 goals. Last season they netted a total of 57. This is Leicester’s fourteenth season with us and they have netted a total of 1025 goals which gives them an average score of 73 goals per season to date. They have just one vote this season.

FA CUP Fourth Round
