Last Update Before Kick-Off


The 2018 World Cup will be kicking off very soon where the host Nation Russia, in Group A start their World Cup campaign in the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow against Saudi Arabia. We here at Golden Goals have closed the book and we have a total of 48 people taking part in our eighth World Cup tournament. Out of the 32 nations taking part, we will have only eighteen nations which have been voted for. Below is the group draw with all the 32 nations taking part and the ones to look out for are in bold capital letters. These are the nations that we have.

  • Group A: EGYPT, RUSSIA, Saudi Arabia, URUGUAY
  • Group B: Iran, Morocco, PORTUGAL, SPAIN
  • Group C: AUSTRALIA, DENMARK, FRANCE, Peru
  • Group D: ARGENTINA, Croatia, Iceland, Nigeria
  • Group E: BRAZIL, COSTA RICA, Serbia, Switzerland
  • Group F: GERMANY, MEXICO, South Korea, Sweden
  • Group G: BELGIUM, ENGLAND, Panama, Tunisia
  • Group H: COLOMBIA, Japan, POLAND, SENEGAL

The voting went down to just six nations really and here they are. In first place with a total of 36 votes is Germany. In second place with 29 is Brazil following them in third place we have Argentina and Spain with 24 votes each. France came in a number four with 22 votes and Belgium are next with 17 votes. The next most voted nation, and can we have a drum roll here, with 8 votes is ENGLAND.
We have five nations that make their very first appearance in the Golden Goals World Cup competition and they are Australia, Costa Rica, Egypt, Poland and Senegal.
