Week Thirty-Eight

In Week Thirty-Eight of the competition we had our sixth Rollover of the season worth a total of £10 and that went to LOUIE HARRINGTON on a score of 13goals. Louie becomes our 35th winner this season with his person best weekend score. Louie is in his second season with Golden Goals as he started with us last season. Louie finished in 84th place with a total of 238 goals. So with his very first win on Golden Goals a very good way to start winning some cash. This season Louie has been as high as 7th place in Week Twenty-Two. He has picked up a total of five weekend blank score sheets and his best team is Manchester City. His winning teams are 

ARSENAL 3, MANCHESTER CITY 5, SUNDERLAND 5 

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

The race is now on to see how many of us can get to that 100 or more midweek goals and to beat the best midweek score of 136 goals which is currently held by Daryl Nicholls from the 2016/17 Season. The good news this week is that we now have a total of four players that have reach 100 goals or more. SORAN SEYEDI and MARK UNSTEAD that picked up the most amount of midweek goals with a total of 10 goals each.

Meanwhile LYANNA GRIMWOOD still leads as she now takes her total up to 116 goals. Her teams are Fulham. Manchester City and Sunderland. BOB SOPER is still second now with a total of 106 goals. In third place is we still have LOUIE HARRINGTON and KEAMUS SETNA both with a total of 100 goals. In fourth place with 99 goals we now have JAMIE WOOD. In fifth place with 96 goals we have COLIN WEBB and PETER WELLARD. In sixth place this week we have DANNY HARRINGTON and MANGO (Paul Moran) both with a total of 93 goals. 

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had all but four of our teams in action this weekend and out of the ones that did play, fourteen failed to score any goals. We had a very good weekend for goals as our average score over the weekend went up from four goals from last weekend back up to 6 goals this weekend. The highest score we had was five goals and they came from MANCHESTER CITY and SUNDERLAND.   

PREMIER LEAGUE

MANCHESTER CITY are still just one point in front of Liverpool in second place again this weekend as Manchester City won 5-1 at home to WATFORD. City become our third teams to hit 100 goals this season. They are now on a total of 102 goals and they have scored in all of their last six games. Watford picked up goal number 34. LIVERPOOL won 2-0 at home to Everton and they are on a total of 108 goals to become our second team to hit 100 goals. They have now scored in all of their last ten games. CHELSEA are still in third place after they won 1-0 at home to London rivals WEST HAM. Chelsea are on a total of 88 goals and a goal run of ten games. West Ham picked up their ninth blank of the season. ARSENAL are now in fourth place after they won 3-1 at home to MANCHESTER UNITED. Arsenal have now taken their goals tally to 68 while United picked up goal number 55. BRENTFORD drew 0-0 at home to TOTTENHAM and that is their twelfth blank score sheet to Tottenham’s thirteen. LEICESTER CITY drew 0-0 at home to ASTON VILLA and they have now had a total of six blank score sheets toVilla’s nine and now two in a row. Its 40 goals for BRIGHTON as they drew 2-2 at home to Southampton. WOLVES lost 1-0 away to Burnley and they have now had a total of sixteen blank score sheets and now two in a row.   

CHAMPIONSHIP

FULHAM are confirm as Champions as they drew 1-1 with second place BOURNEMOUTH. Fulham are on a total of 103 goals while Bournemouth are on 74.

In the Play-offs we have just two of the four teams. They are NOTTINGHAM FOREST in fourth place after they won 1-0 away to PETERBOROUGH who are now relegated. Forest are on a total of 75 goals. Peterborough picked up their twenty-fourth blank of the season. SHEFFIELD UNITED are in sixth place after they won 1-0 at home to CARDIFF. United are on a total of 59 goals this week while Cardiff picked up their seventeenth blank and now two in a row.

Meanwhile DERBY are als relegated after they lost 3-1 at home to Bristol City. Derby are on a total of 47goals. HULL won 3-0 at home to READING to take their goals total up to 43 while Reading picked up their fifteenth blank after a goal run of seven games. SWANSEA drew 1-1 at home to Middlesbrough and that is goal number 63for them and a goal run of six games. WEST BROM picked up their nineteenth blank and now two in a row after they drew 0-0 at home to Coventry. 

LEAGUE ONE

WIGAN have remained at the top after they drew 1-1 at home to PLYMOUTH. Wigan are on a total of 85 goals. Plymouth hit goal number 80 after they have failed to score in their last three games.

ROTHERHAM are still in second place after they won 2-1 at home against OXFORD UNITED. Rotherham are on a total of 73 goals while Oxford picked up goal number 87.

In the Play-Offs we have three teams with SUNDERLAND moving up to fourth place after they won 5-1 at home to Cambridge Utd. Sunderland are now on a total of 85 goals. Plymouth are down to fifth place with WYCOMBE still in sixth place after they won 1-0 at home to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY. Wycombe are on 78 goals while Wednesday picked up their twelfth blank of the season.

Meanwhile LINCOLN CITY lost 2-1 away to Accrington and they are on a total of 56 goals and a goal run of six games now. CHARLTON won 2-0 at home to Shrewsbury and they are on a total of 61 goals and a goal run of ten games. BOLTON won 2-1 away to Cheltenham and they are on a total of 75 goals and they have now scored in all of their last seven games. IPSWICH are on 66 goals as they drew 1-1 away to Crewe. BURTON ALBION picked up their sixteenth blank score sheet of the season after they lost 2-0 away to Doncaster. Burton have now scored just two goals in their last seven games. PORTSMOUTH won 3-1 at home against Gillingham and they are now on a total of 67 goals. 

LEAGUE TWO

EXETER CITY are still our highest team here in second place after they won 2-0 at home to Rochdale. Exeter are on a total of 66 goals.

In the Play-Offs we have just one out of the four teams and they are SUTTON UNITED in seventh place. They lost 1-0 away to Barrow and that is their ninth blank of the season.

Meanwhile relegated SCUNTHORPE UNITED lost 2-1 away to Bradford and they are on a total of 28 goals. CARLISLE lost 3-0 away to Harrogate and that is their twentieth blank of the season and now just one goal in their last four games. SWINDON won 2-0 away to Hartlepool and they are on 76 goals. SALFORD CITY won 2-1 away to Oldham and they are on a total of 62 goals. STEVENAGE won 2-0 at home to Tranmere and they are on a total of 48 goals. 

Our BEST three teams this week are

Our WORST three teams are 

SCUNTHORPE (28) WATFORD (34) BARNSLEY (37) Total of 99 goals

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

In the Premiership CELTIC won 2-0 away to Ross County and they are now on a total of 99 goals and they have now scored in all of their last eight games. Second place RANGERS won 3-1 away to Motherwell and they are now on a total of 90 goals and they have now scored in all of their last thirteen games. Third place HEARTS won 3-2 away to Dundee Utd and they are now on a total of 72 goals and a goal run of ten games. ABERDEEN lost 2-1 at home to Livingston and they are on a total of 44 goals.

In League Two Champions KELTY HEARTS drew 1-1 at home to Forfar and they are on a total of 80 goals. STENHOUSEMUIR lost 3-1 at home to Stranaer and that is goal number 56 for them.

Our on-form team this week are RANGERS as they have now scored in all of their last thirteen League/Cup games. 

Our worst team this week is PETERBOROUGH after they picked up a total of twenty-four blank score sheets out of a total of forty-eight league/cup games. 

Our highest goal scorers in our 39th Season are CELTIC who won 7-0 at home to St Johnston in the league in Week Thirty-Six. OXFORD UNITED won 7-2 away to Gillingham in the league in Week Twenty-Six. FULHAM have now scored seven goals twice this season. They first won 7-0 away to Blackburn Rovers in the league in Week Fourteen and they have also won 7-0 away to Reading in the league in Week Twenty-Four. MANCHESTER CITY won 7-0 at home to Leeds Utd in the league in Week Twenty. CHELSEA won 7-0 at home to Norwich in the league in Week Twelve. BRENTFORD won 7-0 at home to Oldham in the third round of the Carabao/League Cup in Week Eight. 

JULIA WOOD becomes our  10th player to be at the top this season after she picked up a total of 17 goals from  the week. Julia’s teams are Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. The good news for Julia is that she has moved up the table in our Champions League to 28th place as she has taken over five past Champions including Richard Willimas score of 298 goals in the 2015/16 Season. Scott Thomson (2) has moved back into second place as he picked up a total of 16 goals from his teams of Liverpool, Manchester City and Oxford United.  

At the other end at 113 we still have ZIGGY (John Wood) this weekend which is now his 32nd consecutive weekend at the bottom and now thirty-four over the season. Ziggy picked up a total of three goals this week. Ziggy has remained at 37th place in our Losers League this weekend. Ziggy teams are Crystal Palace, Scunthorpe and Stenhousemuir.

Its all change in the top ten this week as the season gets ever nearer to the end.
