Week Thirty-Four

In Week Thirty-Four of the competition we had no prize money this weekend due to the Internationals being played. There will also be no prize money next weekend either which is Easter weekend, as there are hardly any games over the weekend. So most of us picked up yet another blank score sheet this week but we did have 2 players that picked up the most number of goals this weekend with 4 goals each. They are DAVID BARRETT with Celtic, Cove Rangers and Wrexham with our 2015/16 Champion RICHARD WILLIAMS with Falkirk, Manchester City and Ross County.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Only 3 of us have managed to pick up a goal or two this week and the race for the cash has remained the same as last week. In first place this week we still have TONY KING with a total of 97 goals. Tony needs just 3 goals for the cash. His teams are Chelsea, Peterborough and Rangers. In second place we still have ANN WELLARD with a total of 96 goals. In third place we have MARK JOHNSTON with a total of 95 goals. In fourth place all with a total of 94 goals we still have GEOFF CARTHY, DOUG MORBEY and  JAMES SOMERVILLE. In fifth place we have BAILEY MORAN and PETER PORTER both are on a total of 93 goals. In sixth place we have ANDY EYLES  with a total of 92 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had just 13 of our teams in action over the weekend and out of them, 4 teams failed to score any goals. The highest score that we had was 4 goals and they came from the Scottish League One where FALKIRK. They won 4-1 at home to Edinburgh City. Falkirk have taken their goals tally up to 87 goals and have now scored in all of their last 17 league/cup games.

Falkirk became our 27th voted Scottish team in their first season of 2002/03. In that season they picked up their best end of season score of 92 goals. Last time out in the 2020/21 Season, they finished on a total of 40 goals. This is their 11th appearance with Golden Goals and over the years they have netted a total of 774 goals. This gives them an average score of 70 goals per season to date. This season they are doing very well and have only picked up 3 blank score sheets to date. They have just 1 vote this season. Here are all of the other weekends results.
