In Week Twenty-Seven of the competition, we had our second player to have won twice this season. Our winner is RICHIE WILLIAMS who won the full £5 Weekend Prize Money. Richie has won on a score of 14 goals which is our highest number of goals to win by and his personal best weekend result. Richie last won with a shared win in Week Four with just 6 goals. 100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Just over half of us managed to pick up some goals this week, which means that our top five have almost stayed the same as last week’s. We can add another 9 players to the race for the cash this week, which brings our total to 29 players who have reached the halfway mark to 100. It was our 2012/13 Champions that picked up the most midweek goals with 8. That was ALICE STUBBS with her second combination with teams of Chelsea, Rangers and Sunderland. Out in front this week we have KEITH RATTLE, now with a total of 70 goals. Keith’s teams are Chelsea, Rangers and Wrexham. In second place, down from one we now have BARBARA BARNES (1) now on a total of 68 goals. In third place, down from two we have SCOTT THOMSON (1) still with a total of 62 goals. In fourth place we still have EMMAF and TONY GUY (3) but joining them this week we have MICHAEL FISHER down from three with PHIL COLLINS moving up from five. STALKY (2) comes back in the race. All are on a total of 58 goals. In fifth place we have JOHN FILTNESS our joint 2023/24 Champion moving down from four with LUCIFER and RICHIE WILLIAMS now in the race. All are on a total of 57 goals.
WEEKEND RESULTS
We had 8 of our teams without a game this weekend, plus we had another 10 of our teams that failed to score any goals. The average score was six goals last weekend but this weekend it went down slightly to 5 goals. Well done if your teams picked up more than that. The highest score over the weekend was 8 goals and they came from the SCOTTISH CUP 4th Round where RANGERS picked up their biggest result of the season by winning 8-0 at home to Queen’s Park. Rangers have scored a total of 13 goals this week, which has taken their goals tally up to 62 goals.
Rangers started with Golden Goals in our first season of 1983/84 where they finished on a score of 97 goals. They were our 4th voted Scottish team then. Their highest end of season score came in the 1992/93 season with 126 goals. Rangers have scored 100 or more goals in 18 of their 42 seasons to date. Last season they finished on a total of 95 goals. Over the years Rangers have netted a total of 4069 goals to date which gives them an average score of 96 goals per season. We still have the top six teams here this week with ARSENAL still top after they won 3-0 at home to SUNDERLAND. Arsenal are on a total of 62 goals. Sunderland picked up their 9th blank of the season. In second place we still have MANCHESTER CITY who won 2-1 away to LIVERPOOL. City are on a total of 73 goals while Liverpool are on 46 and a goal run of 5 league/cup games. In third place we still have ASTON VILLA drew 1-1 away to AFC BOURNEMOUTH and picked up goal number 39. Bournemouth are on 44 goals and have now scored in all of their last 11 league/cup games. In fourth place we still have MANCHESTER UNITED won 2-0 at home against TOTTENHAM. United are now on a total of 49 goals and have now scored in all of their last 14 league/cup games. Tottenham, after a goal run of 6 league/cup games, picked up their 6th blank of the season. CHELSEA are still in fifth place after they won 3-1 away to bottom of the table WOLVES and are now on a total of 61 goals. Wolves, after they had failed to score in their last three games, are now on a total of 30 goals. WEST HAM won 2-0 away to Burnley and are on a total of 35 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. NEWCASTLE UNITED lost 3-2 at home to Brentford and are on a total of 47 goals. BRIGHTON lost 1-0 at home to CRYSTAL PALACE and picked up their 6th blank of the season after they had scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. CHAMPIONSHIP
Middlesbrough are still in 2nd place even after they had no game, over the weekend.
In the Play-offs, we still have two of the four and they are IPSWICH TOWN now in 3rd place, after they won 2-1 away to Derby. Ipswich are on a total of 54 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. WREXHAM are still in 6th place after they lost 2-0 at home to Millwall after a goal run of 11 league/cup games, and picked up their 5th blank of the season.
Meanwhile, NORWICH CITY won 2-0 at home against BLACKBURN ROVERS and are on a total of 46 goals. Rovers have picked up their 12th blank of the season. SOUTHAMPTON won 1-0 at home to WATFORD and are on a total of 52 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 games. Watford picked up their 8th blank of the season, and now three games without a goal. BIRMINGHAM CITY won 2-1 at home to LEICESTER CITY and are on a total of 48 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. Leicester are on 45 goals. It’s 50 goals for BRISTOL CITY after they won 3-2 away to Hull. PRESTON NE won 1-0 at home to Portsmouth and are on a total of 41 goals.
LEAGUE ONE
Top of the table CARDIFF CITY won 3-0 away to Rotherham and are now on a total of 65 goals and have now scored in all of their last 18 league/cup games.
In the Play-offs, we still have three of the four teams with BOLTON WANDERERS still in 3rd place after they won 3-2 at home to Barnsley. Bolton are now on a total of 46 goals. STOCKPORT COUNTY are still in 4th place after they drew 0-0 at home to LEYTON ORIENT. County after they had scored in all of their last 5 games, picked up their 7th blank of the season. Orient picked up their 10th blank scoresheet and now three in a row. HUDDERSFIELD TOWN have moved up to 5th place after they drew 2-2 at home to BLACKPOOL and are on a total of 57 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. Blackpool are on 43 goals.
Meanwhile, LUTON TOWN won 2-1 at home to Bradford and are on a total of 46 goals. With their biggest result of the season, PETERBOROUGH UNITED won 6-1 at home to Wigan. Borough have taken their goals tally up to 45 goals. PLYMOUTH lost 4-1 at home to Lincoln and are on a total of 41 goals and have extended their goal run to 12 league/cup games. WYCOMBE WANDERERS won 4-0 at home against Doncaster and have taken their goals total to 47.
LEAGUE TWO
Top of the table BROMLEY won 2-1 away to Fleetwood and are on a total of 57 goals. In 2nd place this week we have NOTTS COUNTY who won 2-1 at home against Barrow and are on a total of 48 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. In 3rd place is SWINDON TOWN who won 3-0 at home to Oldham. Swindon are now on a total of 59 goals and have now scored in all of their last 9 games.
In the Play-offs, we now have just two of the four teams with MK DONS still in 4th place after they won 3-2 away to Cheltenham. The Dons are now on a total of 66 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 games. WALSALL are still in 7th place after they lost 3-1 at home to BARNET are on a total of 44 goals while Barnet are on 43 goals.
Meanwhile, CREWE won 1-0 away to Crawley and are on a total of 49 goals. CHESTERFIELD won 3-2 away to Bristol Rovers and are now on a total of 51 goals. GILLINGHAM won 2-1 at home to Tranmere and are on a total of 43 goals.
SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the SCOTTISH CUP 5th Round we had just three of our teams in cup action, one of them is Rangers, and how lucky were CELTIC scoring a very, very late goal to equalise with Dundee 1-1 after the 90-minute period. Celtic went on to win in extra time 2-1. Celtic are on 59 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. STENHOUSEMUIR go out after they lost 2-0 away to Falkirk after extra time. That is their 10th blank of the season after a goal run of 5 league/cup games.
In League One, Stenhousemuir are still in 2nd place after they played in the cup this weekend. EAST FIFE lost 3-0 away to Inverness CT and picked up their 9th blank of the season. COVE RANGERS drew 1-1 at home to Queen of the South and are on a total of 32 goals.
In League Two, Clyde are still in 3rd place after they had no game over the weekend. DUMBARTON lost 2-0 away to Forfar and picked up their 6th blank of the season.

Our worst performing team is WOLVES this weekend, as they have picked up 13 blank scoresheets in their 29 league/cup games.
Our highest scoring team in our 43rd season is MANCHESTER CITY. They won 10-1 at home against Exeter City in the FA CUP 3rd Round, in Week Twenty-Three.
We still have GRAHAM PHILLIPS at the top again this weekend, which now makes it his 3rd weekend and now five over the season. Graham picked up a total of 9 goals from the week, which moves him 3 goals clear. His teams are Arsenal, Celtic and MK Dons. Hayley Adkins keeps her second place spot this weekend as she picks up a total of 6 goals from her teams this week. Hayley’s teams are Hearts, Liverpool and Manchester City.
At the other end at 111 we still have CHARLIE FARLEY(John Wood) there for his 6th consecutive week and now seven over the season. John picked up just 1 goal this weekend. His teams are Cove Rangers, East Fife and Stenhousemuir.
