Midweek Domestic Cup Rounds

We had nine of our teams in cup action in midweek in two of our domestic English cup rounds this week. First with the Capital One Cup quarter-finals where we had five of them playing and out of them four went through to the semi-finals. This is where the highest score came where TOTTENHAM beat Newcastle 4-0 at home. That took Tottenham’s goals tally to 29. Also CHELSEA won 3-1 away to DERBY and they are now on 43 while Derby picked up goal number 49. SHEFFIELD UNITED are also through with a 1-0 home win against Southampton to give them a goals total of 38. LIVERPOOL won 3-1 away to Bournemouth and are now on 26 goals.

In the FA CUP Second Round Replays we had four teams playing in this one but two have made it through to the next round. BARNSLEY are through to round three and now on 38 goals as they win 3-0 away to Chester. LUTON won 1-0 at home to BURY and that was their 30th goal and Burys 6th blank of the season. SCUNTHORPE are also through although they drew 1-1 after extra time but then went on to win 14-13 on penalties against non-league team Worcester away. Scunthorpe are now on 30 goals.

Just one league result and that was EVERTON winning 3-1 at home to Q.P.R. Everton are now on 27 goals while Rangers picked up goal number 17.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
This is the part of the competition where goals are scored from midweek i.e Monday to Friday are counted up and the first person to 100 midweek goals receives a nice cash prize.

Just over half of us managed to pick up some more midweek goals with the highest coming from DOUG MORBEY with a total of 10 goals. They came from Chelsea and Liverpool three goals each and Tottenham with four. Doug is now on 33 midweek goals this week. So we have a little bit of a change for the cash this week.
TONY KING is still out in front this week on a total of  60 goals after picking up a goal from Derby. SCOTT THOMSON (1) remained  in second place with a new total of 53 goals. In third place on 52 goals we have ALEX DAVEY who moves down one.  In fourth place down from three we have JAMES SOMERVILLE and up from sixth place CRIAG EVANS both on 49 goals. In fifth place we have TOBY BICKNELL and PHIL REEVE both down from four with PAUL DAVEY down from three. Also up from sixth place we have  CHRIS NUNN all on a total of 48 goals.  In sixth place both on 48 goals we have NICK GATES down from fifth place and BRIAN WAKEFIELD down from four.
