Week Eleven

We had another great weekend for goals from our Golden Goals teams but DANIEL GOODSON is at the top for his fourth weekend. Daniel’s combination of  teams picked him up seven goals this weekend from Manchester City 5, Middlesbrough 0 and Rangers 2. He is  just two goals clear of  RICHARD WILLIAMS who moves into second place after his teams picked him up a total of eleven goals this week. Richards teams are Hibernian, Manchester City and Rangers.

At the other end, JOHN NICHOLLS is in his tenth weekend at number 119 as his combination picked him up a total of nine goals this week

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Although we had three for our Golden Goals teams in action this week, with only Bristol City picking up any goals, the race for the cash remains the same as last week as City have only three votes this season. CRAIG EVANS is in the lead this week with his teams of  Hearts, Manchester City and Middlesbrough. Craig has a total of 34 goals. In joint second place both with 31 goals we have DANIEL GOODSON and MICK LIDDLE. BARBARA BARNES (2) and TONY KING are still in third place both on 29 goals. In fourth place is TOM MACDONALD and JAMES HUNTER both are on 28 goals In fifth place both on 27 goals we now have MALCOLM CORMACK and MARK HOWARD In sixth place we have CHRIS SETFORD on 26 goals.end. His teams are Arsenal, Bolton and  Newcastle.

This weekend we had our second Rollover of the season with a Jackpot of £10 and all that lovely money went to our 14th winner of the season TERRY WARWICK on a total of 12 goals. Terry has been with Golden Goals for a while now and last season he finished on a total of 268 goals which left him in 33rd place out of 106. He also had three weekend wins collecting nearly nine pounds in cash. But this weekend we see Terry at his highest position for this season at number 82. This is also his highest score to date. Terry has also had two blank score sheets. His teams are

WEEKEND RESULTS             
We had a fantastic weekend of football as all of us managed to pick up some goals this weekend. Out of our 57 teams that we have this season, three had no game and another fifteen of our teams failed to score any goals.
Our highest score came from the English Premiership where NEWCASTLE picked up their highest score of the season by winning 6-2 at home to NORWICH. Newcastle have only one vote this season and they are now on a total of 16 goals. Newcastle have not started off this season very well and they are now third from bottom of the table Newcastle are in their twenty-seventh season with Golden Goals and they first appeared in our first season of 1983/84 and was our seventh most voted team.They finished on a total of 87 goals. Their  highest score to date is 105 goals back in our 1992/93 Season. They last appeared in Golden Goals back in our 2012/13 Season with just 46 goals. They have netted a total of 1,807 goals over the years which gives them an average score of 66 goals per season to date.Norwich take their goals tally to 19 goals.

PREMIERSHIP
We have the top four teams here with MANCHESTER CITY going back on top after they won 5-1 at home to Bournemouth. City are now on 28 goals and they become our second best team this weekend. ARSENAL are now second as they won 3-0 away to WATFORD. Arsenal are now on 18 goals while Watford picked up their 6th blank of the season and they have netted just one goal in their last three games. MANCHESTER UNITED are now down to third place as they win 3-0 away to EVERTON. United are now on 18 goals while Everton picked up their 4th blank score sheet of the season. WEST HAM move up to fourth place as they win 3-1 away to London rivals Crystal Palace. The Hammers are on 21 goals this weekend. CHELSEA win their third league game out of nine as they win 2-0 at home to Aston Villa. Chelsea are now on 18 goals. TOTTENHAM and LIVERPOOL both picked up their third blank of the season as they drew 0-0 at White Hart Lane.

CHAMPIONSHIP
BRIGHTON are still top here as they beat LEEDS 2-1 away. Brighton are now on a total of 18 goals while Leeds picked up goal number 11 after a two game dry spell. MIDDLESBROUGH come next in third place as they drew 0-0 at home to Fulham. Brough picked up their 4th blank of the season and have failed to score in their last two games. QPR lost 2-1 away to Birmingham but they are now on a total of 23 goals. It’s 14 goals for BRENTFORD after a two game dry spell as they win 2-1 at home against Rotherham. BURNLEY are now in fifth place as they win 2-0 at home to BOLTON. Burnley take their goals tally to 16 while Bolton pick up their 7th blank of the season. IPSWICH picked up their third blank as they drew 0-0 at home to Huddersfield. Ipswich have now failed to score in their last two games and have only scored two goals in their last four games. MK DONS have been scoring low in recent games, but made up for it this weekend as they win 3-0 at home to Blackburn. The Dons are now on 16 goals. PRESTON drew 0-0 at home to CARDIFF to pick up their 4th blank while Cardiff picked up their 2nd. CHARLTON lost 1-0 away to Reading and picked up blank number three for them. HULL picked up another single goal as they drew 1-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday. Hull are now on 18 goals. DERBY picked up their biggest score of the season as they beat WOLVES 4-2 at home.  Derby are now on 17 goals while Wolves are on 21.

LEAGUE ONE
BURTON ALBION have moved down again this weekend to third place as they lost 4-0 away to Fleetwood. Burton have picked up their 4th blank of the season and they have now netted just one goal in their last four games. SHEFFIELD UNITED are still in sixth place as they drew 1-1 away to Oldham. United are now on 23 goals. BLACKPOOL picked up their 6th blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 away to Coventry. MILLWALL are on 20 goals as they win 2-0 at home to SWINDON. Swindon picked up their 4th blank of the season. PORT VALE drew 1-1 at home to PETERBOROUGH and that was their 16th goal of the season to Boroughs 27th. SCUNTHORPE are now on 16 goals as they win 2-1 at home against Shrewsbury. SOUTHEND won 2-1 at home to Barnsley and are now on 14 goals while CHESTERFIELD are on 19 goals as they win 2-1 away to Walsall. WIGAN picked up their biggest score of the season as they won 5-0 at home to Colchester. Wigan are now on 22 goals.

LEAGUE TWO
We have the top two teams here again this weekend with PLYMOUTH still on top as they win 1-0 at home to Accrington. Plymouth are now on 22 goals. In second place we have PORTSMOUTH as they win 1-0 away to Newport. Portsmouth are now on a total of 24 goals. LEYTON ORIENT are up to fifth place this weekend as they drew 2-2 at home to Oxford.  Orient are now on 25 goals. EXETER lost 1-0 away to Carlsile and that was their 4th blank of the season while LUTON hit goal number 27 as they lost 2-1 away to Crawley. STEVENAGE win their third league game out of thirteen as they win 2-1 at home to WYCOMBE. Both teams are now on 17 goals each. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Scottish Premiership, CELTIC are still top as they win just 1-0 away to Motherwell. Celtic are now on 28 goals but fall out of our best team frame this weekend. With Aberdeen in second place, HEARTS are third as they win 1-0 away to Dundee UTD. Hearts are now on 27 goals. In the Championship, HIBERNIAN picked up their biggest score of the season as they win 4-2 at home to Dumbarton. Hibs are now on 22 goals. RANGERS keep their 100% scoring record going as they win 2-1 at home to QUEEN OF THE SOUTH. Rangers are now on 43 goals while Queen of South hit goal number 15. It’s 18 for FALKIRK as they win 1-0 at home to Morton.In the other leagues, STENHOUSEMUIR are on 16 goals as they drew 2-2 away to Cowdenbeath. QUEENS PARK picked up goal number 15 as they lost 2-1 away to Annan. BERWICK drew 1-1 at home to East Fife and that was their 17th goal of the season. CLYDE picked up their 5th blank of the season as they lost 1-0 at home to Stirling.

Our worst team this week is still WATFORD as they have picked up sixth blank score sheets out of ten games played. They have scored three goals in their last four games played.  

Our Best team this weekend is still RANGERS after scoring in all of their thirteen League/Cup games played they are on a total of 43 goals which is an average of three goals per game.

We now have three high scoring teams in our 33rd Season. From the Scottish Premiership CELTIC won 6-0 at home to Dundee in a league game in week seven while MANCHESTER CITY won 6-1 at home to Newcastle in the League in week nine. We can now add NEWCASTLE'S 6-2 home win against Norwich in the League from week eleven.

We have just three teams left that still have a 100% scoring record. They are MANCHESTER CITY, WEST HAM, and and RANGERS.
