Week Twenty-Seven

In Week Twenty-Seven of the competition and we have  had another single player that has won this weekends jackpot of £6 on a score of 10 goals. They become our thirty-fourth winner of the season and it goes to our 2014/15 Champion TOBY BICKNELL. Toby first played Golden Goals in our 2014/15 Season on where he became Champion in his very first season. Toby won that season with Celtic, Derby and Preston with a total of 311 goals. That winning score has left him in 13th place in our Champions League. Toby had a great season then with not only being champion but he also had two weekend wins and he also won the 100 Midweek Jackpot. Toby won over £133 in cash. Last season he finished in 54th place on a total of 296 goals. He had one weekend shared win. This season Toby  has picked up a total of 19 goals over the last two weeks. Toby has failed to get off the last page as his highest position is 125th in week two. His best team is Arsenal.

ARSENAL5, FULHAM 2, SCUNTHORPE 3

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Most of us are on 50 or more midweek goals this week and only few failed to get any midweek goals. We had a total of seven players that picked up the highest score with 9 goals each. So the race for the cash has changed once again from last weeks leaders.
On a total of 83 goals, I’am still in the lead (Me) STEVE REEVE as I picked up the three goals from Rangers. Manchester United and Wolves are my other teams. In joint second place on 81 we still have  RAYMOND HARROD but he is now joined by MIKE PEPPERRELL up from five. In third place all on a total of 80 goals we have STEPHEN LEADER and up from fourth place we have MATT DORAN and GRAHAM PHILLIPS. Up from five we have JAMES BLYTH and TERRY WARWICK and fresh in we have ROBERT FREEMAN and BOB SOPER. In fourth place on 79 goals we have STEVE CADWELL, MICK LIDDLE, TONY SKINNER and JULIE SOMERVILLE.

WEEKEND RESULTS
Not a great week for our top teams as the average goal score was just 3 goals this weekend.
The reason for that is that we had just two of our teams with out a game and another twelve teams that failed to score any goals but it was a very low scoring weekend.
The highest score that we had came from the English Premiership where  ARSENAL won 5-1 at home to EVERTON. It’s the third time that Arsenal have scored five goals in a game and that now brings their goals total to 59. Everton picked up goal number 34.
Arsenal became our 26th voted English team to enter Golden Goals but they started in our second season of 1984/85. In their first season they picked up a total of 75 goals. In the 2002/03 Season they picked up their highest score of 103 goals. Last season they finished on a total of 101 goals. This is their 33rd Season with us and over the years they have netted a total of 2732 which gives them an average score of 82 goals per season to date. They have a total of 32 votes this season.
