Week Thirteen

 In Week Thirteen of the competition we had our sixteenth winner of the season and they are JAMES WISE. James won on a total of 13 goals which is his personal best. James started with Golden Goals back in our 2013/14 Season where he finished in the winning frame in 25th place with a total of 299 goals. He also picked up two weekend wins. Last season he finished in 44th place with a total of 260 goals. This season he has picked up three blank weekend score sheets and he has been as high as 52nd place in Week Two. His best team is Rangers. James winning teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT 

Most of us managed to pick up some midweek goals again this week and the race for the cash has changed again this week. In the lead this week we now have BOB SOPER up from two last week. He is now on  a total of 41 goals. His teams are Arsenal, Fulham and Rangers. PETER PORTER has moved down to second place with a total of 40 goals. In third place we now have, down from two COLIN WEBB on a total of 39 goals. In fourth place down from three we now have both GEOFF CARTHY and LOUIE HARRINGTON. Both are on a total of 38 goals. In fifth place with 36 goals we still have our 2007/08 Champion RICKY WOOD with a total of 36 goals. In sixth place this week we have LYANNA GRIMWOOD moving down from four and CHRIS BOLBERY coming back in the race. Both are on a total of 35 goals. 

WEEKEND RESULTS 

We had all but three of our teams in action this weekend and out of the ones that did play fifteen of them failed to score any goals. The good news is that we all managed to pick up some goals once again as we had another great weekend for goals. This weekends average score fell from seven goals last weekend to 6 goals this weekend. 

The Highest score over the weekend was six goals and they came from RANGERS. They won 6-1 away to Motherwell. With their biggest score of the season they have taken their goals tally to 32 goals and have now scored in all of their last twelve games. Rangers first appeared in our first season of 1983/84 where they became our fourth voted Scottish team and they finished on a total of 97 goals. This is Ranger’s 38th season as they missed our 1985/86 Season. Their highest end of season score came in the 1992/93 Season with 126 goals. Last season they finished with a total of 105 goals. Over the years they have netted a total of 3628 goals which gives them an average score of 95 goals per season to date. This season they are once again doing very well. They have a total of 54 votes this season and they have only picked up one blank score sheet. 

PREMIER LEAGUE 

We now have the top eight teams here this week with CHELSEA keeping on top after they won 3-0 away to Newcastle. Chelsea are now on a total of 28 goals and a goal run of five games. LIVERPOOL are still in second place after they drew 2-2 at home to BRIGHTON who are in seventh place now. Liverpool are on a total of 34 goals and have kept their 100% scoring record after twelve games played. Brighton are on a total of 17 goals this week. MANCHESTER CITY are still in third place after they lost 2-0 at home to CRYSTAL PALACE. City have picked up two blank score sheets this week and they now have had a total of four over the season. Palace are on a total of 13 goals and have now scored in all of their last five games. WEST HAM are in fourth place as they win 4-1 away to ASTON VILLA. West Ham are on a total of 21 goals while Villa also picked up goal number 21 and they have now scored in all of their last seven games. BRENTFORD lost 3-1 away to Burnley and they are on a total of 24 goals. LEICESTER CITY lost 2-0 at home to ARSENAL and that is their second blank of the season after a goal run of seven games. Arsenal seem to be picking up now as they are now on a total of 23 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED in fifth place, won 3-0 away to TOTTENHAM. United are now on a total of 19 goals while Tottenham picked up their fourth blank of the season. WATFORD picked up their sixth blank as they lost 1-0 at home to Southampton. 

CHAMPIONSHIP 

We have the top three teams here this week with BOURNEMOUTH top and still five points in front as they win 2-0 away to READING. Bournemouth are on a total of 31 goals while Reading picked up their fifth blank and now two games in a row. FULHAM are still in second place after they won 3-0 at home to WEST BROM.  Fulham are now on a total of 38 goals and they have now scored in all of their last seven games. West Brom are still in third place as they picked up their fourth blank of the season. It’s 10 goals for BARNSLEY as they lost 2-1 away to Bristol City. Bottom of the table DERBY lost 2-1 at home to Blackburn Rovers and that was goal number 15 for them. HULL lost their tenth league game as they lost 1-0 at home to Coventry. Hull have now score just one goal in their last four games. PRESTON after  a two game dry spell for goals, won 2-0 at home to Luton. Preston are on  a total of 27 goals this week. SHEFFIELD UNITED lost 1-0 at home against Blackpool and that is their sixth blank of the season. CARDIFF CITY after failing to score in their previous five games, drew 3-3 away to Stoke. Cardiff are now on a total of 18 goals. SWANSEA won 3-0 at home against PETERBOROUGH and they are now on a total of 25 goals while Borough picked up their eighth blank of the season. 

LEAGUE ONE 

We still have the top six teams here this week with PLYMOUTH still on top on goal average as they win 2-1 at home to IPSWICH. Plymouth are now on a total of 33 goals and a goal run of seventeen games. Ipswich are on a total of 30 goals and a goal run of fourteen games. WIGAN are now in second place after they won 2-0 at home to BURTON ALBION. Wigan are on a total of 28 goals and they have now scored in all of their last eight games. Burton after a goal run of seven games, picked up blank number four. ROTHERHAM are up to third place as they win 5-1 at home to SUNDERLAND. Rotherham with their highest score of the season, are now on a total of 29 goals. Sunderland after a two game dry spell, picked up goal number 32. CHARLTON won 4-0 at home to Doncaster. With their biggest result of the season, Charlton are now on a total of 20 goals and a goal run of eleven games. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY drew 2-2 away to Cheltenham and they are on a total of 19 goals and they have now scored in all of their last ten games. WYCOMBE drew 3-3 away to Fleetwood and they are now on a total of 28 goals. LINCOLN CITY drew 1-1 at home to Shrewsbury and that is goal number 22 for them this week. OXFORD UNITED won 3-1 at home to Morecambe and they are now on a total of 27 goals and a goal run of seven games. PORTSMOUTH won 1-0 at home to BOLTON and they are on a total of 19 goals. Bolton picked up their tenth blank and they have now scored just two goals in their last five games.  

LEAGUE TWO 

EXTER CITY are still our highest team here in fourth place. They won 2-1 away to SALFORD CITY and they are on a total of 25 goals and they have now scored in all of their last nine games. Salford are on 19 goals. SWINDON are in fifth place as they win 3-1 away to Oldham. Swindon are on a total of 22 goals and a goal run of six games. SCUNTHORPE lost 2-1 away to Colchester and they are on a total of 11 goals and still rock bottom of the league. STEVENAGE lost 5-0 away to Newport and that is their seventh blank and now four games with out a goal. CARLISLE lost 3-0 away to Northampton and they have now had a total of nine blanks two in a row and now just two goals in their last seven games. SUTTON UNITED picked up their third blank after a goal run of seven games as they lost 1-0 at home to Walsall. 

Our BEST three teams this week are  

FULHAM (38) KELTY HEARTS (35) PLYMOUTH (33) Total of 106 goals  

Our WORST three teams are  

BARNSLEY (10) HULL (10) CARLISLE UNITED (11) Total of 31 goals 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES 

In the Premiership, Rangers have remained top and are now four point in front of CELTIC who have moved up to second place after they drew 0-0 at home to Livingston. Celtic have now picked up a total of three blank score sheets after a goal run of six games. ABERDEEN won 2-1 at home to HEARTS and they are on a total of 16 goal while Hearts now in third place, take their goals tally to 28 and have now scored in all of their lasts even games. 

In the Championship, KILMARNOCK are now two points clear at the top after they won 4-0 at home to Queen of South and with their biggest result of the season they are now on a total of 25 goals. 

In League Two KELTY HEARTS drew 1-1 at home to Stirling and they are on  a total of 35 goals and have extended their goal run to twelve games. 

Our on-form team is PLYMOUTH after scoring in all of their last seventeen League/Cup games with a total of 33 goals. 

Our worst team this week are BOLTON after they have picked up ten blank score sheets out of eighteen games played. 

Our highest goal scorers in our 39th Season are now CHELSEA after they won 7-0 at home to Norwich in the league in Week Twelve. BRENTFORD won 7-0 at home to Oldham in the third round of the Carabao/League Cup in Week Eight. 

We have a new leader this week and it’s his second weekend at the top this season as he was top in Week Two. They are GUY DOWSETT (2).  Guy picked up a total of thirteen goals this week and his teams are once again Kelty Hearts, Liverpool and Rangers. Mango (Paul Moran) has moved up to second place after he picked up a total of 15 goals for the week. He is three goals behind Guy and this could all change again by next weeks sheet. He’s teams are Chelsea, Fulham and Rangers. 

At the other end at 113 we still have ZIGGY (John Wood) here this weekend which is now his nineteenth consecutive weekend at the bottom. Ziggy did picked up just three goals this week. His teams are Crystal Palace, Scunthorpe and Stenhousemuir.
