Week Eighteen

In Week Eighteen of the competition and we going to have our sixth Rollover of the season next weekend worth a total of £12 in cash as we had a total of five players to pick up this weekends highest score with 9 goals each.
They were EMMA NEWMAN, KAREN SMITH, BOB SOPER, JACQUI WILLIAMS and JULIA WOOD Four of them had Arsenal to pick up their highest score while Emma had Dumbarton.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Eighty-eight players picked some more midweek goals this week but it was GARY BROWN who picked up the most amount of goals with nine, coming from Ayr Utd with five and Sunderland with four goals. His other team is Celtic. That  takes his midweek total up to 37 goals and in joint second place this week. So the race for the cash has changed this week.
GRAHAM HARRIS is still out in front and has extended his lead to a total of 44 goals as he picks up another two goals from West Brom. He has Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. In second place and now only seven goals behind Graham, we have GARY BROWN coming back in with RYAN WILLIAMS up from third place. Both are on a total of 37 goals.
In joint third place on 36 goals we have JAMES BLYTH and TERRY WARWICK both up from fifth place. JOHN DAVIES has come back in with 35 goals to go in fourth place. In joint fifth place all on 34 goals we have JUNE TIGHE, ANN WELLARD and JACQUI WILLIAMS all moving down from second place with DANNY HARRINGTON and DAVE WOOD are also joining them this week.

WEEKEND RESULTS
This weekend all of us managed to pick up some more goals as half time is rapidly coming up. We had the second round of the FA Cup were one of our four teams picked up the highest score over the weekend with four goals. We had a really good weekend for goals although we had a total of twelve teams without a game this weekend and another ten teams that failed to score any goals. But even after that, the average score dropped from the eight goals from last weekend to 5 goals this week.
As I said that the highest score that we had was four goals and they came from ARSENAL in the Premiership, BLACKBURN in the Championship, BARNSLEY in the FA Cup and DUMBARTON in the Scottish league one.

FA CUP Second Round
We had fifteen of our teams in action in this round and the good news is that seven have made it through to the next round with another two in replays. The ones through are LUTON who won 1-0 away to Bury and they are now on a total of 42 goals. PORTSMOUTH beat ROCHDALE 1-0 away to pick up goal number 38 while Rochdale picked up their fifth blank of the season. SHREWSBURY won 1-0 at home to SCUNTHORPE and that is their 29th goal of the season and a goal run of seven games. Scunthorpe picked up their seventh blank score sheet and now two in a week. ACCRINGTON STANLEY are through as they win 3-1 at home to Cheltenham and they have taken their goals tally up to 27. LINCOLN CITY won 2-0 at home to Carlisle and they are now on 44 goals. It’s 30 goals for OLDHAM as they win 2-0 away to non-league Maidstone. Our biggest score of the round came from BARNSLEY as they win 4-2 away to SOUTHEND. Barnsley are now on 43 goals while Southend are out with 36 goals.
In replays we have PETERBOROUGH who drew 2-2 at home to Bradford after going two goals up at half time. Borough are now on a total of 41 goals. SUNDERLAND drew 1-1 away to Walsall after being a goal up at half time. Sunderland are on a total of 42 goals.
Teams that went out of the cup are SWINDON who lost 1-0 at home to non-league Woking with a goal in the 54th minute. That is Swindons ninth blank of the season. CHARLTON lost to Doncaster 2-0 at home with both goals coming in the second half. Charlton have now had five blank score sheets to date.

PREMIERSHIP
We now have the top nine teams now in the prem with MANCHESTER CITY remaining at the top after they won 3-1 at home to BOURNEMOUTH in ninth place. City are now on a total of 48 goals and they have now scored in all of their last seven games. Bournemouth with another single goal are now on 31 goals. LIVERPOOL are still in second place as they win 1-0 at home after a very late goal against rivals EVERTON.  Liverpool are now on 28 goals while Everton picked up their third blank score sheet and now just one goal in their last three games. CHELSEA are up to third place after they won 2-0 at home to FULHAM. Chelsea are now on 35 goals while Fulham picked up blank number eight and still bottom of the league. ARSENAL have moved up to fourth place after they won 4-2 at home to London rivals TOTTENHAM who have fallen down to fifth place. Arsenal have taken their goals tally up to 37 goals while Tottenham are on 30 goals. LEICESTER CITY are now on 24 goals as they win 2-0 at home to Watford. WEST HAM won 3-0 away to Newcastle and they are now on a total of 29 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED went two goals down before they drew 2-2 away to Southampton. United are now on a total of 24 goals.

CHAMPIONSHIP
In the Championship, LEEDS UNITED are still our highest team here in second place now after they won 1-0 away to Sheffield United to take their goals total up to 35. West Brom are still in fourth place with NOTTINGHAM FOREST now in fifth place after they won 2-0 to bottom of the table IPSWICH. Forest are now on 41 goals while poor old Ipswich have picked up their ninth blank of the season. It’s 30 goals for BIRMINGHAM CITY  as they win 3-0 at home to Preston. Birmingham have extended their goal run to twelve games. BLACKBURN won 4-2 at home to Sheffield Wednesday and they are now on a total of 37 goals. It’s 40 for DERBY as they win 2-1 at home against SWANSEA who are now on 22 goals. It’s also 40 goals for ASTON VILLA. After their big win in midweek they have now beaten Middlesbrough 3-0 away. ROTHERHAM lost 3-1 away to Norwich but picked up goal number 23. After a two game dry spell for goals, it’s 20 for HULL as they win 3-2 away to Queens Park Rangers. STOKE have picked up another two goals as they drew 2-2 away to Reading. Stoke are now on a total of 29 goals.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Scottish Betfred Cup Final, CELTIC have picked up their first piece of silver wear of the season as they beat ABERDEEN 1-0. That is Celtic’s 38th goal of the season while Aberdeen picked up their fifth blank score sheet and now two in a row.
In the Premiership, RANGERS have gone top of the league for the first time this season after they won 2-1 away to HEARTS. Rangers are now on a total of 44 goals while Hearts picked up goal number 38. HIBERNIAN picked up their fifth blank of the season as they lost 3-0 away to Kilmarnock. HAMILTON after a two game dry spell for goals, won 3-1 away to St Mirren and they are now on a total of 17 goals.
In the Championship, Ayr United are top after their win on Friday night with ROSS COUNTY in second place after they won 1-0 away to ALLOA. County are now on 35 goals while Alloa picked up their tenth blank of the season.FALKIRK won their third game of the season after they won 3-2 away to Inverness CT. Falkirk have taken their goals tally up to 17 goals.
In League One, STENHOUSEMUIR are bottom of the league after they lost 5-2 away to Arbroath. Stenhousemuir are now on a total of 22 goals. After a two game dry spell for goals, DUMBARTON won 4-1 at home to Brechin to take their goals tally up to 26. RAITH ROVERS are in second place as they drew 2-2 at home to Airdrie.
In League Two, PETERHEAD in second place won 2-1 at home to Anna and they are now on 30 goals

Our BEST three teams this week with Golden Goals are

WOLVES (15) HAMILTON (17) FALKIRK (17) Total of 49 goals 

Our Best teams this week are still SUNDERLAND after they have scored in all of their last nineteen League and Cup games out of twenty-two played. They have a total of 42 goals which gives them a average score of 1.9 goals per game.

Our worst team is FALKIRK this weekend as they have picked up a total of ten blank score sheets out of twenty league and cup games played this season. But they have scored seven goals in their last four games.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season are now WEST HAM UNITED who won 8-0 at home against Macclesfield in the Carabao/League Cup Third Round in Week Nine.

GARY BROWN is back on top this weekend as he collects a total of thirteen goals for the week with just four coming from the weekend. Gary has now been top for a total of seven weeks over the season. His teams are once again Ayr Utd, Manchester City and Sunderland. COLIN WEBB has moved back up to second place and four goals behind Gary, as he picked up a total of six goals over the weekend and ten over the week. Colin has  Manchester City, Rangers and Sunderland.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for his ninth consecutive weekend as he picks up a total of nine goals for the week. He has now had twelve weeks at the bottom and he is now just six goals adrift this weekend. His teams are  Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool. 

Well it looks like our table is beginning to settle down now so here are our top ten this week.
