Day Four

Day four we saw a very early morning kick-off for the second game in Group C. This is where the IVORY COAST took on Japan.  The Ivory Coast have picked up four votes and this is there third consecutive World Cup with us. The best that they have finished on is 4 goals back in the 2006 games. They failed to go beyond the first round games in that one and it was the same for  the 2010 where they finished on 4 goals. Still they did very well and won their opening game 2-1. So Colombia are top with Ivory Coast second followed by Japan and Greece.
In Group E we have just two teams in this one. First game up was with Switzerland taking on ECUADOR and beat them 2-1. We have never had Ecuador in any of our World Cup finals so a big welcome to them. Over the years we have had a total of 40 nations in our books.  In the other game in this group we had FRANCE. They are in their fifth Golden Goals World Cup and they are a team that change in each finals when they come to scoring goals. In their first games with us they picked up a total of 15 goals back in the 1998 finals but in their next final in 2002 they failed to pick up any and failed to go beyond the first round games. In the last world cup they picked up just one goal and again just in the first game rounds. They have a total of eleven votes and won their opening game 3-0 against Honduras.  So the table in group E looks like this. France first with Swizerland second fopllowed by Ecuador and Honduras.

In Group F ARGENTINA played Bosnia-Hercegovina in their opening game. Although Argentina were out played by Bosnia in the first half with two new substitutes at the start of the second half changed the game completely. Argentina win 2-1 and go top.
So At the end of the fourth day games, all of our thirteen nations have all now scored goals giving us a total of 28 goals to date.
