Scottish League Cup First Round

The first round of the Scottish League Cup has been played and they have once again played the first round in group stages. In our 35^th Season we have a total of eight Scottish teams taking part and five of them played in the first round.

In Group A, FALKIRK finished in top position in this group after they had played all of their four games and won each game. They are the moment are our best team with a total of 13 goals.

In Group B, PETERHEAD finished in second place and won three out of their four games. They have picked up a total of 7 goals. ELGIN CITY finished rock bottom in fifth place after they lost all four games. They do have a total of 2 goals but they also have a total of three blank score sheets to start the season with.

In Group C, is the last of our Scottish teams to be voted in this season, RAITH ROVERS. They finished in third place in this group by winning two of their four games. They currently hold the record for the highest score this season after they won 6-1 away to Buckie Thistle. Rovers have a total of 9 goals.

In Group G, we had STENHOUSEMIUR who finished bottom of their group in fifth place. They won just one of their games and they scored 3 goals in this round.

The second round games, which will be back to the knock out rounds, are to be played on the 8/9th August with the Scottish Premiership teams. Falkirk are the only team to reach this season round which will include Aberdeen, Celtic and Rangers for our Golden Goals fans.
